Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1392: The Man Behind the Curtain is in J-town
Alfredo and the others were silent.
It was certain that even without the group, the person behind the curtain would send others, so it was imperative to replace out who was behind the curtain now. Mark knew nothing about the X, but since they were training dead soldiers, the situation was much more serious than they had thought.
He narrowed his eyes and said in a deep voice, "Eliazar, replace out who the head of 'X' is and who he has been in contact with." "Yes!" Eliazar bowed his head respectfully.
At that moment, Vega took the floor, "It's better that I go, Prince."
Marcos turned his head to look at him, good-looking sword eyebrows slightly furrowed and eyes a bit confused, "You're ..." "Oh, it's ..."
Alfredo was about to reply when Vega spoke first, "Prince, I am Vega, also trained by you, a dark guard who only takes orders from you." "I'm sorry, I don't remember." said Marcos.
Vega shook his head, "Prince, no need to apologize. It's okay that you don't remember, as long as you're safe."
Marcos said he didn't remember, but he still had a familiar feeling, a feeling he could trust.
"Since you're taking over this mission, make sure you replace out who the other boss is as fast as you can, as well as replace out who's behind it."
With that said, Marcos looked thoughtful.
"Prince, what's going on?" asked Alfredo.
"These people are so rampant, risking their lives, chasing Alvaro down the road, and backing up so fast, it looks like they've been organizing everything for a long time." Marcos thought about what had happened last night and the more he thought about it, the more it seemed wrong.
Eliazar thought about it and said, "You are right, Prince, yes it was arranged."
Marcos narrowed his eyes and spoke in a cold and stern voice: "If I am right, the person behind this is J-City".
At these words, several of Vega's men were taken aback.
"J-City?" hesitated Alfredo, guessing, "It can't be the Bartram family, can it?"
"No way." Eliazar shook his head, "It's unlikely Earlene is making waves now that she's on guard duty. And the Rawlins aren't as irrational as Earlene."
"But the less likely, the more likely." Alfredo was still adamant, "This thing definitely has to do with Earlene."
"I said it's impossible, why are you still ...?" Eliazar looked at Alfredo with some annoyance.
"Possible or not, we can't be careless, we have to be a little more careful than before." Alfredo said.
Marcos nodded, "That's right, it's true that Earlene will replace it difficult to turn against Paulina again, but that doesn't rule out other possibilities." "Since the prince feels the same way, I can start with Earlene." said Vega.
"Send more men to keep an eye on the Bartram family, and Earlene," Marcos ordered.
"Yes."
Alfredo, Eliazar and Vega replied in unison.
After putting things in order, Marcos returned to the hospital.
When he entered the room, Agustina was there.
"Marcos is here." Agustina stood up and watched him softly as he approached.
"Mom." In front of his family, Marcos had a coldness about him, and although his expression was light, his eyebrows were noticeably smoothed. Agustina smiled and nodded.
"Are you finished with work?" asked Paulina.
"Busy." Marcos looked around and asked, "Where's Esteban, Sweety?"
"The two little ones can't stay, their grandfather has taken them downstairs for a walk in the garden." The answer came from Agustina.
"I'm going to see." Marcos turned to leave.
"Marcos," Agustina called to him.
Marcos stood still and turned back.
"You stay with Paulina, I'll go down and check." Agustina said as she headed for the exit.
Marcos nodded and returned to the bedside, looking tenderly at Paulina and asking, "How are you feeling?"
"Pretty good."
Marcos sat on the edge of the bed and took her hand in his, "When you get out of the hospital, don't go to work for a while, take some time to recover." He thought about it and decided it was safer at home.
It was better to stay out of it as much as possible until he figured out who was behind it.
"Fine." Paulina didn't object either.
She had already involved Alvaro this time, and she really didn't want to involve anyone else.
Marcos reached over and smoothed the strands of hair on her cheeks behind her ears and chuckled softly, "I thought you wouldn't agree."
"Am I that ignorant?" Paulina gave him a sidelong glance.
Marcos smiled and said nothing more.
Paulina pursed her lips, "Marcos, Alvaro hasn't woken up yet, is he going to be okay?"
"No, don't worry. He's too thin to be fine."
Marcos' reassurance did not reassure Paulina.
As Alvaro slept, her heart hung in the balance.
...
Bonita was just like Paulina.
Yesterday she tossed and turned in bed all night, but she couldn't fall asleep either.
When it was almost dawn, she got up, sat on the edge of the bed and took Alvaro's hand in hers.
She sat there for hours, without changing position.
Mrs. Gloria couldn't take it anymore, "Bonita, I know you're worried, but you have to think about the baby you're carrying in your belly."
"Mom, I'm fine." Bonita's eyes bore into Alvaro's face.
Ms. Gloria sighed at his insistence and turned around to check on Paulina.
No sooner had she turned around than she heard Bonita's startled cry, "Alvaro, you're awake!".
She turned around and was happy to see that Alvaro had opened his eyes.
Bonita threw herself on top of him, hugging him and crying, "Bastard, if anything happens to you I won't let you go, even if I have to chase you to the Demon King!". She cursed as she cried.
Alvaro put his arms around her in anguish, "You fool, with you and the child, how could I let death go?".
Hearing this, Mrs. Gloria approached him and slapped him on the thigh, "Bastard, where are your parents too?".
Alvaro grunted in pain, "Mom, don't overdo it, I'm still hurt."
Mrs. Gloria laughed and wiped tears from the corners of her eyes, "Brat, why are you so uncomfortable?"
"Don't worry, Mom, I'll still have you to worry about for decades." Alvaro bared his teeth in a half-joking, half-serious grin.
"You still think you're good, don't you?". Mrs. Gloria looked at him with good humor and amusement.
Then she patted Bonita on the back, "Bonita, don't cry, call the doctor first and I'll go tell Marcos and the others."
At that moment, Bonita hurried to straighten up and raised her hand to wipe her tears, "Yes, I'm going to call the doctor first." And she pressed the call bell.
Soon the call was answered, "What's the situation?"
"My husband has woken up, please ask the doctor to come."
