Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1418: The smell of blood pervades.
"Esteban, I'm getting really bored, come see me."
Bitterly pleaded Monte on the other end of the phone, and Esteban eventually softened at the thought of the day he had a bloody face after being hit by a basketball. "I'll ask my mom and dad, and if they agree, I'll go."
"Great, I'll wait for you then."
With Monte's cheer, Esteban hung up the phone.
"Esteban, it's fruit time." Paulina entered the room carrying a tray of fruit.
Placing the fruit platter on the table, Paulina turned her head to Esteban and asked affectionately, "Did you finish your homework?"
"Yes."
Esteban looked up into her gentle gaze and pursed his lips, looking doubtful.
"What's wrong?" asked Paulina.
"Mom, my classmate is hurt and I want to go see him." Esteban bowed his head and whispered.
Paulina raised her eyebrows, "If you want to go see, go ahead."
"Is he really okay?" Esteban looked at her in surprise.
Paulina smiled softly, "Of course you can. It's not that Mom and Dad won't let you go out, they just don't feel comfortable with you going out alone."
"I know." Esteban nodded to show he understood, "I can ask Tio Alfredo to accompany me."
"Fine, have Tio Alfredo accompany you." Paulina gently stroked his head and smiled.
...
The next day, at Marcos' request, Alfredo accompanied Esteban to Monte's house.
"Keep an eye on Esteban and inform me if anything happens." admonished Marcos before leaving the house.
Alfredo replied respectfully, "Yes."
On the way to La familia Londono, Esteban turned his head to look out the car window, where the morning sun streamed in and fell on his boyish face. He closed his eyes and the corners of his mouth turned up slightly.
Alfredo turned to see this scene and couldn't help twisting his lips, "Esteban, you're in a good mood today."
Esteban opened his eyes, turned his head, met his mocking gaze and nodded earnestly, "Yes, I'm in a good mood today."
"Have the last few days bored you?" asked Alfredo.
He hadn't been out either to Dr. Shen's study, the office, or his home these past few days.
"Nothing's wrong." Esteban looked out the window again, "It was my partner Monte who was bored out of his mind." When they arrived at The Londono Family, as soon as Monte saw Esteban, he pounced on him and hugged him joyfully. "Esteban, you're too much of a friend!" said Monte with a smile as he let go of him.
Infected by his cheerful mood, Esteban couldn't help but smile too.
"I got my dad to buy new models, so we'll go upstairs and put them together."
Without waiting for Esteban's reaction, Monte dragged him upstairs.
"Slow down guys, don't you fall!" Monte's mother shouted when she saw how fast they were running.
But they didn't listen and soon disappeared around the corner of the stairs.
Mama Monte shook her head and sighed, "Monte is such a fussy boy, he doesn't know how to behave like Esteban."
She then looked at Alfredo, "The two boys play by themselves, you sit down in the living room for a moment while I pour your coffee."
"Thank you." Alfredo looked at the second floor, turned around and walked to the living room and sat down.
On the second floor, Monte and Esteban were concentrating on putting the model together, and as the minutes passed, the model was taking shape through their combined efforts. "Take a break, you two." Monte's mother came in with a sandwich.
When the snacks were on the table, Monte took a jar of yogurt and a piece of cake and placed it in front of Esteban, "My mom's cake is delicious, try it."
"Thank you." Esteban smiled at Monte's mother.
Mama Monte couldn't help but say, "Esteban is a good boy."
"Mama, I'm a good boy too!" shouted Monte in disgust.
Mama Monte laughed, "Yes, you're a good boy too."
Monte smiled contentedly, "Mom, let's go to McDonald's for lunch, shall we?".
"No." Mama Monte refused without a word, "Those things are not nutritious at all, what good are they."
"Esteban, do you want to eat?" Monte turned his head and winked at Esteban, hinting.
Esteban nodded, "Yes."
At that, Monte turned his head toward his mother, "Mom, he's a guest."
Since Monte's mother didn't see the small gesture between the two, she smiled and said, "Okay, then we'll go eat at McDonald's."
"Great!" rejoiced Monte.
...
Meanwhile, Chris received a report from his men that Esteban had gone to a classmate's house today.
Chris knew he had an opportunity and immediately ordered his men to keep a close eye on the man and report back to him immediately if anything happened.
He then called in some of his men and planned to put on another bloody show before Esteban's eyes.
Around noon, Alfredo and Monte's mother took their two sons to the McDonald's downtown.
As soon as they entered the store, the two children happily ran to sit in the window seat.
There they could clearly see the street.
"Sit down and don't run, I'm going to order." admonished mom Monte and turned to the counter.
Esteban and Monte looked outside and Monte, who was a little bored, suggested, "Why don't we count how many people pass in front of the store?"
Esteban turned his head to look at him with a look that said, "Why are you so bored?"
"It's not boring if you count."
Then Monte counted carefully.
Esteban grimaced and counted with him.
At that moment, a sudden panic broke out in the otherwise quiet street, pedestrians screaming and running back and forth, some running into the stores in terror. "What's going on?" Alfredo rushed to protect Esteban and looked down the street with a distrustful expression.
All that could be seen were two parties stabbing each other with knives, blood flying everywhere.
The scene riveted in Esteban's eyes and his pupils dilated sharply, leaving him frozen. "Monte had never seen such a terrible scene and he screamed in fear.
Monte's mother rushed to take him inside, calming him down as she called the police.
"Esteban, let's go inside." Alfredo didn't realize something was wrong with Esteban and took him straight inside.
Even when he was inside, Esteban kept looking out and no one noticed the slow squeeze of his hands at his sides.
The police soon arrived and the group was brought under control.
Ambulances arrived and all the injured were taken to the hospital.
The streets were quiet again.
Monte was not in the mood for hamburgers and fries and was clamoring to go home.
Monte's mother had no choice but to say, "Esteban, I'm sorry, I have to take Monte home now, but I'll take care of you another time."
Esteban looked at her expressionlessly and said nothing.
She sensed that there was something wrong with Esteban, but she didn't think too much about it because Monte was still making noise and took Monte away in a hurry. "Little Prince, let's go back too." Alfredo led him out of the McDonald's.
Even though the toilets were cleaning up the scene, there was still a trace of blood in the air.
"Vomit!" Esteban suddenly vomited.
Startled, Alfredo's face changed, "Principito!".
