Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1437: First Meeting
"No way should JR be allowed to work with the Leoz Group!" Rawlins grimaced.
Chris furrowed his eyebrows for a moment and said, "We need to replace a way to meet with Blythe and talk about working together in person, maybe she'll see our sincerity and decide to work with us." "A meeting?" Rawlins snorted, "You think I haven't thought of that? I've called and the attitude on the other side is that they won't see anyone for a while."
"No way! Since JR has decided to move their focus to the field, they must be itching for all the companies to come forward and beg them to work together."
"That's the information I'm getting anyway." Rawlins leaned back on the couch, still irritated, but he was calmer now.
"There's always someone to see." Rawlins' mouth curved into a grimace.
Blythe didn't want to meet anyone, so she'd let him meet her in person.
...
After work, Alvaro drove to the restaurant Blythe had agreed to, just as his older brother had wanted.
Once inside the restaurant, the waiter led him to the last booth in the second floor hallway.
"Miss Blythe is in there." The waiter nodded to him and turned to go downstairs.
Alvaro lingered at the door for a moment before pushing her in and entering.
Blythe had arrived at the restaurant half an hour early to wait, and she knew that Marcos always liked people who showed up for their appointments on time, so first impressions were important. If he saw her sincerity, the chances of her agreeing to work with JR were greater.
Just...
Blythe pressed her palms together, a haze covered her delicately painted face.
She had mixed feelings.
On the one hand, she couldn't wait to see Mark, on the other, she hated Mark and feared she wouldn't be able to control her emotions when she saw him.
"You're not Earlene anymore, you're Blythe, and your heart died when they put you in the dungeon, dead forever!".
Blythe whispered to herself, her eyes filled with intense hatred.
At that moment, she heard the door open and turned her head, her heart rising.
But as she saw the person who entered as Alvaro, the light in her eyes instantly went out and her heart plummeted. Alvaro looked at her, his brow furrowed by the sword.
She looked disappointed.
Was it because he was the one who had come and not her brother?
It made sense that she and her brother didn't know each other, so there was something to be disappointed about.
Was it another woman who was in love with her brother?
Thinking about this, Alvaro suddenly perked up.
For the sake of his brother and sister-in-law's happiness, he had to break it off with Blythe.
He lifted his steps, with a polite, detached smile on his face, and politely introduced himself, "Miss Blythe, hello, I'm Alvaro, from the Leoz Group."
Blythe stood up, with a light expression, "Hello. Please sit down."
When Alvaro sat down, Blythe poured him a coffee and asked, seemingly unconcerned, "Why isn't Mr. Marcos here in person?"
"Thank you." Alvaro took a sip of his coffee and the corner of his mouth curved, "I came, just like my brother."
"Is that so?" Blythe chuckled lightly, "So, you can make the decision about the partnership?"
Alvaro looked at her, the smile on his lips deepened a little, "It's never one person who can make the decision about a partnership. It's a team that has to make an assessment and if it's feasible, then the decision can be made to work together." Blythe looked at him for a moment before speaking again, "But the fact that Mr. Marcos is not here already speaks volumes about the attitude of the Leoz Group."
By this time, Marcos would already be home with Paulina and the children.
If he hadn't come, he wouldn't have taken JR into account at all!
At this thought, Blythe clenched the coffee cup in her hand, her knuckles white-knuckled.
Alvaro frowned, wondering if it was her fault, why he felt a strong aura of resentment emanating from her.
Seeing Blythe's somber face and wondering what she might be thinking, he called out to her cautiously, "Miss Blythe?"
Hearing his voice, Blythe quickly sorted through all her thoughts and smiled at him, "I hope to meet Mr. Marcos someday."
Alvaro raised an eyebrow, "There will be an opportunity."
He lifted his coffee cup and took a sip, his eyes fell on Blythe, who stood in front of him, her expression thoughtful.
Silence slowly stretched between them.
Only after a long moment did Alvaro speak, "Miss Blythe, isn't it too hasty to offer the Leoz Group a partnership just after you have returned to the country?"
"Does it seem rash to you?" Blythe shot a look of astonishment.
Alvaro shrugged, "Isn't it rash? Not to mention the fact that the Leoz Group is in a completely different business field than JR, so how can the two companies work together?"
Blythe was silent for a few seconds before slowly explaining, "Before I returned to Spain, I had my people research some of the well-known companies in the country and Grupo Leoz was the best choice to work with." "And what do you want to work with?" asked Alvaro.
"..." Blythe thought seriously for a moment, "Isn't Grupo Leoz doing an artificial intelligence project recently? I'm interested, and Father nominal, it's an area we've never covered before."
"Artificial intelligence?" Alvaro laughed out loud, "There's the Bartram Group working on that project in the country, maybe you could approach Rawlins about working with them."
At the mention of the Bartram Group, Blythe's expression changed slightly, but quickly returned to normal and she said lightly, "The Bartram Group is not on my radar at the moment." "Oh?" Alvaro shot a look of interest, "Can you tell me why?".
Blythe smiled slightly, "Who wouldn't want to work with the Leoz Group when it's so well known? Except, of course, fools."
"Haha..." Alvaro smiled brightly, "Thanks for the compliment about the Leoz Group, but we still need to think about working together."
"No downside to that. I can wait." Blythe lifted her coffee cup, "Coffee instead of wine, and I look forward to the day when we can work together."
The two coffee cups clinked.
Alvaro tilted his head and drank from his cup, his gaze settling on Blythe with a hint of inquiry.
When he had seen her on television before, he had felt very uncomfortable.
Now that he was seeing her in person, he realized why he felt uncomfortable.
Every now and then this woman would reveal something somber and cold, and there was hypocrisy and insincerity between the lines.
"Mr. Alvaro, what's wrong with you?" asked Blythe curiously, seeing that he was silent.
Alvaro looked back at her and smiled, "Nothing."
"Mr. Alvaro, when you come back, please also speak well of me in front of Mr. Marcos. After all, we at JR are really interested in working with the Leoz Group." Blythe spoke with a straight face.
Alvaro got a smile in his heart and on his face: "Of course. I'll be sure to put in a good word for you in front of my brother."
He deliberately put the word "good words" in his mouth.
Blythe frowned, but said nothing more.
During the meal, although they both said kind things, they each had different thoughts.
When they finished eating, Blythe and Alvaro left the restaurant at the same time and said a few more polite words to each other before saying goodbye and leaving.
