Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1441: Always So Happy
Before dinner, Edgar returned.
As soon as Sweety saw him, she stretched out her legs and ran to him.
"Little Uncle!"
Edgar scooped her up in his arms and gently pinched her nose, his handsome face full of smiles. "Did you miss your little uncle?"
"Yes!" replied Sweety loudly.
Edgar narrowed his eyes in satisfaction, "It's not for nothing that tito loves you."
He led Sweety into the living room, where Esteban and Bonnie were working on a puzzle, and when they saw him arrive, they immediately put the puzzle down. "Uncle!" shouted Esteban.
Edgar set Sweety down on the floor and reached out to touch his head, "Have you bought any new models lately?".
Esteban nodded, "Yes. Dad and Uncle have bought lots of new models."
Since he hadn't been going to school, Marcos and Alvaro were worried that he would be bored, so they had bought lots of models for him to spend time at home. "Let your brother-in-law see your new models later, when you get a chance."
Stephen nodded vigorously at this, "Good."
Edgar then looked at Bonnie and asked with a smile, "Aren't you having fun today? Because Esteban and Sweety are here."
"Of course I'm happy." Bonnie looked at Esteban and Sweety, "I like Esteban and Sweety better."
"I like Mr. Bonnie better too." Sweety ran to him and grabbed his hand.
Bonnie looked at her and her whole being became more and more tender.
Edgar looked at him thoughtfully for a moment, looked around and asked, "Esteban, where are your mom and brother-in-law?" "They're in the kitchen preparing dinner."
"Preparing dinner?" Edgar frowned and took a step toward the kitchen.
As soon as he reached the kitchen, he saw Paulina coming out of it with a bowl of soup.
Seeing him, Paulina immediately smiled, "Cousin, you've come back at a good time."
Edgar raised an eyebrow, "How's that?".
He reached over and took the bowl of soup out of her hand and helped her carry it to the dining room for storage.
"Because it turns out Edwina had all the dishes fried."
The table was already set with several dishes, still steaming, and the colors looked especially attractive.
Edgar was a bit taken aback, "Did Wei Wei make all this by herself?"
"Haven't you ever eaten Edwina's food?" Seeing his astonished face, Paulina couldn't help but be curious.
"I have eaten it. I just didn't know it was that good. If you guys hadn't come, I probably wouldn't have had the pleasure."
She sounded like she was eating some.
Paulina couldn't help but laugh out loud and joke, "Cousin, you're not jealous of me and the baby, are you?"
"Of course not." Edgar averted his eyes sheepishly and said quietly, "Big deal, I'll have Edwina make it for me every day from now on." But then he thought about how hard it would be for Edwina to cook every day.
She immediately changed her tone, "Once a week."
Paulina lost her smile and shook her head.
The maid put the dishes away and Paulina went to call the children to dinner.
When the family was seated, Baggott took the lead, "Paulina, it's rare that Edwina cooks, so you and the children must eat a lot."
Paulina smiled and said, "Don't worry, brother-in-law, I'm sure I'll eat more. I was watching Edwina sauteing in the kitchen and I got really hungry just smelling that aroma." This comment amused everyone.
"Edwina, doesn't cousin's husband give food?" scoffed Edgar.
Paulina knew he was hitting back at her, who had also just teased him.
"I'm not having a good time eating Edwina's food." Paulina glared at him, not meaning well.
"Edwina, ignore him and eat a piece of rib." Dulce put a piece of rib on her plate and gave each of the three children a chicken leg.
"Thank you, Grandma."
"Thank you, Grandma."
After saying thank you, the three children put their heads down and began to eat.
Paulina took a bite of the ribs and her eyes lit up as she looked at Edwina, "It's delicious."
Edwina was relieved to hear that and smiled, "That's good."
She was worried that she couldn't guarantee that all the dishes would be good after making so many at once, but her dangling heart finally calmed down when she heard Mrs. Paulina's compliment. "Edwina's cooking is no big deal, of course it's delicious." Edgar picked up a piece of fish and popped it into his mouth, his chin slightly raised in pride.
Paulina raised her eyebrows, "Edwina's cooking is really good, but you don't get to eat her cooking very often."
Edgar was not happy to hear this, "Paulina, are you holding a grudge against me today?".
Paulina shrugged and laughed, "Probably infected by Alvaro, a bit of a grudge."
"Don't you two argue." Edwina, fearing they would quarrel, hastened to advise.
"How can we possibly argue?". Edgar laughed helplessly, "We're just talking, we're not really fighting."
Edwina put her foot down, "That's good."
Then she explained to Paulina, "Actually, I was busy with the store and didn't have time to cook. Today, knowing you were coming, I gave myself a day off, otherwise I wouldn't have had time." "The store?" Paulina frowned slightly, "You're going back to work at the restaurant?"
"Your brother-in-law and I bought the restaurant and now Edwina owns it." said Dulce.
Paulina was surprised, "Brother-in-law, brother-in-law, you really bought the whole restaurant? That's unbelievable."
She gave a thumbs up and a look of admiration.
Baggott lost his smile, "It's just an engagement gift from us to Wei Wei, nothing impressive."
"But it shows that you guys value Edwina," Paulina put down her chopsticks and said seriously, "I'm not going to lie to you, at first I was quite worried that Edwina would be uncomfortable when she came to The Khan Family. But now it seems like I was worried for nothing."
"Mom and Dad treat me like their own daughter, how could I not get used to it."
For Baggott and Dulce, Edwina has nothing but respect and more than gratitude in her heart.
Although they disapproved of her being with Edgar at one time, after they decided to accept her, they treated her like their own daughter and were kind to her in every way.
It made her feel the love of her parents and the warmth of her family again after so many years.
Edgar took her hand between his, "Not to mention she'll get used to being with me."
"Yes, oh." Paulina smiled and wished him well, "I hope you will always be so happy."
"Of course."
Edgar and Edwina looked at each other and smiled.
The meal lasted over an hour, and some of the adults might have eaten longer if Sweety hadn't clamored to come up.
The atmosphere was warm as the larger family talked and chatted.
