Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1442: Woe is Me
The next day, during breakfast, Bonnie suggested going fishing on a lake in the nearby hills.
So, as soon as they finished breakfast, Paulina and Edwina took the three children to that lake. The car was parked on the side of the road, not far from the lake.
The three children were impatient to open the door, jump out of the car and run to the lake. "Slow down!" shouted Paulina.
No sooner had it left her lips than she saw Sweety collide with a woman.
"Sweety!" Paulina rushed toward her.
Sweety sat down heavily on her butt and screamed with a loud "woah."
The woman she had hit raised her eyebrows in disgust, "Why are you crying when it's obvious you hit me?"
"Sorry, sorry." Paulina quickly picked Sweety up and lowered her head in a burst of apology.
Edwina, who was following her, stared in surprise when she saw the woman, "Elva!".
Yes, the person Sweety had collided with was none other than Elva.
When Elva saw Edwina, her whole face immediately darkened and she snorted with contempt, "So it's you guys. I thought you were someone who taught such uneducated children." "What did you say?" Edwina was furious.
Elva sketched a faint smile, "What, angry?"
"You!" Edwina was so angry that she wanted to go ahead and argue.
Paulina hurriedly pushed her away, shook her head gently to tell her not to act and looked at Elva coldly, "Mrs. Elva, it's the girl's fault for bumping into you. But you don't have to speak so harshly." "I am telling the truth, where is the meanness?". Elva played dumb.
Paulina laughed softly, "Mrs. Elva, I remember my brother-in-law praising you as a gentle and kind person who knows what she is talking about, why don't I feel that today?
Or is it that you behave differently in front of me and my sister-in-law, two faces?".
Elva was furious when she heard the word "two-faced", "You are the one with two faces, your whole family has two faces!".
Seeing her anger, Edwina burst out laughing.
Hearing this, Elva got even angrier and pointed her finger at her, "Edwina, what are you laughing at, what's so funny?"
Edwina looked at her with a Dulce smile, "It's that I think you're pretty."
Not expecting her to say that, Elva froze, but she reacted quickly and her face turned red not knowing whether to be angry or shy. "Edwina, don't think I'm going to forgive you just because you said that."
"I'm not asking you to forgive me, I just really think you're cute."
Unable to speak for a moment, Elva grunted loudly through her nose and quickly walked away.
Paulina and Edwina turned their heads to watch her back as she walked away and both looked at each other with a smile.
"Although Elva seems quite willful and bossy, she still has points of tenderness." said Paulina.
"Her feelings for Edgar are real, and if I hadn't shown up, maybe they really would have gotten married."
Speaking of which, Edwina sighed, "To put it mildly, I'm the one who's the third party."
"Don't talk about yourself like that." Paulina looked at her suspiciously, "Cousin doesn't like it, and even without you, there's no way they'll get married." Edwina smiled, "I guess."
With those hypothetical things, one never knew how it would turn out.
"Mom, come here!"
Esteban shouted to them, already standing by the lake.
Paulina smiled and said to Edwina, "We're on our way."
...
Two companies they worked with in quick succession were having problems, and both were scandals, and even the reputation of Rawlins' and Chris' companies had taken a hit. This upset both Chris and Linda.
"You mean Rawlins didn't even check before looking for a partner?" Linda smiled coldly, with a sneer between her brows. "Because of these two companies, our companies are being called out as the same." At this talk, Linda gritted her teeth angrily.
"Don't be angry." Chris reassured her, "Luckily we cut ties with those two companies in time, otherwise the impact would have been even greater."
Linda pondered for a moment and asked, "So what are you going to do now?"
"The Leoz Group has been left with the TS Group project and is in a good position to do that, and to be honest, the Rawlins and I are out of luck for now."
"No?" Linda thought she had misheard and looked at him incredulously, "Chris, don't forget what you promised me."
"I haven't forgotten." Chris took her in his arms, "I'm going to help you get your revenge."
"Chris, you know I can't wait too long."
Linda hated the very idea that Paulina was living happily ever after, she couldn't wait to kill Paulina now.
"I know, just give me a little more time, okay?" Chris looked at her, tenderly.
Linda took a deep breath, "Okay, I'll give you a little more time."
Meanwhile, Blythe and Winston were planning what they were going to do with the Leoz Group.
"Have they made any moves on my brother?" asked Blythe.
Winston shook his head, "Not yet. The scandals at both companies have had an impact on the Bartram Group and the stock has been volatile and up and down for a while. I think your brother has a headache right now and doesn't know what to do."
Blythe scoffed, "I should never have expected too much from my brother."
He thought a moment and spoke again, "Do you have any ideas?"
"I do have an idea." Winston said.
"What's it about?" rushed Blythe.
"Your brother and Chris and the others are dealing with the Leoz Group in plain sight."
Blythe frowned, "So what?"
"Well, in that case, we can use that."
Blythe pondered seriously and suddenly her eyes lit up, "You're planning to wreak havoc ..."
"Brilliant." Winston quipped with a snap of his fingers before she could finish her sentence.
Blythe's eyes narrowed slightly, "I heard recently that the Leoz Group is planning to buy a small company specializing in artificial intelligence, maybe we can buy that company before he does." Winston nodded, "Sure, you're thinking exactly the same thing I am."
"We do the acquisition in secret, we don't reveal any information about us and let Mark think it's been Chris."
Blythe hooked the corners of her mouth, this would not only give Marcos his first taste of defeat, but also accelerate the fight between the Leoz Group and Chris.
"That's brilliant." Winston looked at her with a grateful expression.
Blythe raised her eyebrows and said arrogantly, "Of course I'm smart, how else would I have dared to come home to face the Leoz Group?"
Winston threw his head back and laughed, "Yes, you're right."
