Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1464: Stopped in time.
"Marcos really agreed to work together?"
Winston looked at Blythe with some disbelief.
Blythe took a sip of her coffee and asked rhetorically, "You don't believe me?"
"He didn't agree the first few times, so why did he agree this time?" Winston always felt something was wrong.
Since Mark had some suspicions about them, there was no way he was going to say yes easily.
"He told me to my face that we could work together, and he said he'd have his assistant draw up the contract." Blythe sketched a smirk, "He must be aware of what's going on with the Leoz Group now, it makes sense that he said yes." "Did he say what the terms were?"
"Yes. He said he would set the terms of the contract."
Winston frowned, "You agreed?"
"Why wouldn't I agree?" Blythe asked him rhetorically. "We've been looking for an opportunity to work with the Leoz Group for a long time, and now that the opportunity has finally arisen, how could I pass it up?" Suddenly Winston didn't know what to say and simply said, "You're in too much of a hurry."
"Why am I in a hurry?" Blythe set her glass down hard on the table and said in dismay, "Are you going to make me wait any longer? I can't wait any longer."
"That's why I said you were in a hurry." Winston sighed, "Blythe, you know Marcos better than I do. The first few times you offered, he didn't say yes. Why did he say yes this time? You haven't even seriously thought about it?"
"Of course I've thought about it." Blythe was silent for a few seconds and then said, "If he really wants to work with us, of course it's for the best. If it isn't, it will only accelerate our plans against the Leoz Group." Winston let out a sigh of relief, "I'm relieved you think so."
"What exactly are you worried about?" Blythe looked at him with some amusement.
"I'm worried that you're being cheated by Marcos." Winston voiced the worry that was going around in his head.
Blythe snorted, "You can be sure of it, he can't fool me. I'm not Earlene anymore, I'm Blythe."
Winston walked over to her and wrapped an arm around her waist, taking her in his arms and looking down at her, the corner of his mouth curving up. "Even if I fool you, I'm still here."
Blythe smiled, winked and smiled gently, "You're the best."
"Of course."
Winston kissed her slightly parted red lips.
...
The day was spent with Mark being out of the office, while Paulina stayed working with Alfredo on clients.
When the calls came in, some of the clients were bluntly saying that they wanted to terminate their contracts with the Leoz Group and that they didn't want to work with them anymore.
Paulina's heart was on the line every time she received such a call, but she managed to convince them that the Leoz Group could get out of the situation.
Some clients were convinced and accepted, but others were very adamant and, no matter what she said, wanted to cancel the contract.
In desperation, Paulina had no choice but to respect the other party's decision.
After hanging up the phone, Paulina sighed heavily, turned her head to the busy Alfredo and asked, "Do you have to take a lot of these calls a day?"
Alfredo stopped what he was doing and nodded, "Yes, a lot."
In principle, they were not supposed to handle these calls from their partners.
It just so happened that many clients would appoint the manager's office or else simply terminate the contract.
"Does everyone want to terminate their contracts?" asked Paulina.
"Not everyone. There are others who are concerned about the current situation of the Leoz Group." Alfredo, seeing that she didn't look too good, smiled and said reassuringly, "Paulina, there are actually far fewer calls today than the other day. There are also far fewer clients who have disengaged."
"Is that so?" Paulina looked a little incredulous.
"Really. You can ask the others if you don't believe me." said Alfredo.
Paulina laughed softly, "Don't bother asking. I believe you."
She rubbed her sore neck, looked at the time and frowned, "Where did Marcos go today, why isn't he back by this time?".
"The prince went to see some important clients."
For the most important clients of the Leoz Group, Marcos opted to talk to them personally, he believed that such sincerity would impress them.
Paulina was distressed to learn Marcos' intentions in doing so, "He's never begged, this time he's being condescending."
"It's not begging either, it's ..." Alfredo weighed her words, "respect. The prince has always respected all the clients, he wants them to be clear about the situation the Leoz Group is in and gives them the freedom to choose." Paulina smiles, "that's why the Leoz Group has been improving over the years, so much so that many people are envious."
She is confident that the difficulties will pass and the Leoz Group will rise to even greater heights.
It wasn't until eight o'clock in the evening when Marcos returned to the office.
As he made his way to the sofa, he took off his suit jacket and threw it on the sofa.
Once seated, he unbuttoned the cuffs of his shirt and rolled up his sleeves twice, exposing a slender arm.
Paulina quickly approaches with a glass of water, "Tired? Have some water first."
Marcos looked at her, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips, "Yes."
He took the glass of water and took a sip, "Busy today?".
Paulina shook her head, "No, I'm not. And compared to you, what I'm doing is nothing."
Seeing the tired look between his eyes, Paulina reached behind him, massaging his temples, and asked slowly, "How was your day?"
Marcos pondered for a moment before speaking, "It's all settled."
"Yeah?" Paulina was pleasantly surprised, "That's great."
It wouldn't have been worth her hard work running around all day.
Just then, Alfredo opened the door and walked in.
He walked up to Marcos and asked, "Prince, the public relations department has prepared the release, do you need to read it?"
"I don't need to read it. If you think it's okay, you can brief the media tomorrow and get it out." said Marcos.
Alfredo nodded, "Okay."
At that point things were more or less settled, and as soon as the press release came out, the Leoz Group's stock should go back up.
There were a few fewer clients, but it had been done as quickly as possible to stem the losses.
Paulina was both proud and heartbroken for Marcos, knowing that it had taken him a lot of effort to get there.
He seemed to have lost weight in the last few days.
"He must not have eaten yet." said Paulina with assurance in her voice.
Marcos lost his smile, "He was going to eat with you again, wasn't he?".
Paulina gave him a sour look, "You better be."
Next, she called Mrs. Gloria.
"Mom, Marcos and I haven't had dinner yet, could you ask the driver to bring dinner to the office?".
Mrs. Gloria looked at the wall clock and frowned, "It's after eight o'clock and you haven't had dinner yet? How come one by one you don't worry about your health?" "Mom, don't be mad, Marcos just got back to the office and eight o'clock is not that late."
"It's not too late." Mrs. Gloria sighed, "I'll have the kitchen prepare it right now and have the driver bring it when it's ready."
"Thanks Mom."
After hanging up the phone, Paulina feigned aggravation and glared at Marcos, "It's your fault for not eating on time and making Mom scold me too."
