Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1472: It's Better Not to Offend Him
Marcos raised his sword eyebrows when he heard Anastasio's answer, "Mr. Anastasio means that you are willing to allocate funds to the Leoz Group?"
"Of course." Anastasio smiles, "Tomorrow I will sign the loan application for the Leoz Group and soon the funds will be transferred to the bank under the Leoz Group account." Marcos raises his glass, "Good cooperation."
"Good cooperation."
Their glasses clinked and Marcos tilted his head and drank from his glass, the corners of his lips curling into a faint curve.
The matter of the loan was finally well settled.
...
Marcos didn't get home until after midnight.
He pushed open the door to his room and saw Paulina sitting up against the bed.
When Paulina saw him return, she immediately ran to him barefoot and asked in an anxious tone, "How did it go? Did the other party agree?"
Marcos' eyes lowered and his gaze settled on her white feet, his frown creased, "It's cold at night, put on your slippers."
Paulina spat out her tongue, turned and ran to put on her slippers before asking, "Did it go well?"
"The deal is done." Her anxious look caught the attention of Marcos, who couldn't help but raise the corner of his lips, "Is that why you got up to replace out the result?"
Paulina pursed her lips and said innocently, "I wanted to sleep too, but I couldn't do it, so I got up to read and wait for you."
"On purpose?" Marcos laughed out loud, "You're saying that on purpose because you're afraid I'll scold you."
Paulina narrowed her eyes and laughed, "Yeah, I wasn't waiting for you, I was just waiting for you."
How clever she was, that's not how I could talk about her.
Marcos smiled an affectionate smile.
Paulina sniffled, her fine eyebrows furrowed, "Have you been drinking?".
"Yes, a little." Marcos raised a hand and rubbed his forehead.
He hadn't really had much to drink in the evening, he just hadn't had a drink in a while and his body had been taking it too well for a while.
"Was it hard?" asked Paulina with concern.
Mark released her hand and gave her a reassuring smile, "I'm fine."
"You always do that, you say you're fine even when you're not." Paulina gave him a nasty look and helped him sit on the edge of the bed. "Lie down and rest for a while while I make you some sober coffee." "No." Marcos took her hand, "It's late, get some rest."
"I'm not tired yet."
Paulina pushed his hand away and walked out the door.
It was too late to stop her, so Marcos could only smile helplessly and shake his head.
About ten minutes later, Paulina entered the room with a steaming mug of sober coffee.
She blew on it, and when it was at the right temperature, she handed the mug in Marcos' hand, "Drink it, it's less unpleasant."
"Good." Marcos took it and finished it in one gulp.
"Go take a bath and then go to bed early." Paulina said quietly as she brought the empty bowl closer.
Marcos nodded, "Okay."
Maybe it was the wine that made him uncomfortable, he took a bath and went to bed before falling asleep.
Paulina reached out and gently stroked his forehead, her eyes full of pain.
A lot had happened at the Leoz Group in the last few days, and it was really hard for him.
I hope that when the loan comes down, the Leoz Group can also get back to normal and things will calm down.
...
The next morning, Marcos woke up and Paulina was no longer in bed.
He washed up, changed his clothes and went downstairs.
Mrs. Gloria saw him coming down and said with a smile, "You're awake, go have breakfast. Today is Paulina's hand-prepared breakfast." Marcos entered the dining room and there was a faint smell of food in the air.
He saw a variety of small delicate dishes on the table, as well as porridge.
Paulina came out of the kitchen with the lunch meat and when she saw him, a big smile instantly broke out on her little face, "You're on."
"Why don't you sleep more?" asked Marcos as he watched her put the plate of lunch meat on the table.
She had also gotten up late last night, and it must have been hard for her to get up so early today to prepare breakfast.
"I woke up and thought it was still early, so I got up to prepare breakfast."
Paulina walked over and dragged him to a chair, handing him the chopsticks and urging, "Eat while it's hot."
And then she put some vegetables on his plate, "Have some porridge first to warm up your stomach."
After saying that, she turned her head and fixed her gaze on him.
Mark felt a little helpless, "I'm not a child, you don't have to worry about me not eating properly."
"Eat." urged Paulina as if she hadn't heard him.
Mark picked up the bowl and took a sip of the porridge, the warmth of the porridge flowed from his chest to his stomach, warming him instantly. Under Paulina's "watchful eye," Marcos drank two bowls of porridge and ate a big meal.
Ms. Gloria said, pretending to eat, "Paulina's cooking is so good that Marcos is looking forward to eating more."
At this comment, the others laughed.
"Mom, in my heart, you are the best cook, I like your cooking better." Alvaro saw fit to be condescending.
"Really?" Mrs. Gloria looked at him with a face of disbelief, "Don't you like Bonita's cooking?"
"Of course I like it." blurted out Alvaro.
"And do you like my cooking or Bonita's cooking better?". asked Mrs. Gloria again.
"I ..." Alvaro looked at his wife and found her putting down her chopsticks and looking at herself.
The corner of his mouth twitched, she was digging herself a hole!
"Alvaro, from now on, talk less during meals, okay?". Paulina laughed and shook her head.
Seeing Alvaro's embarrassed look, Mrs. Gloria couldn't help but laugh, "Come on, I'm joking with you. Hurry up and eat, you have to go to work." "Mom, you're the best."
Alvaro gave Mrs. Gloria a hug and hurried to finish his breakfast before leaving for work.
...
Meanwhile, the Bank of Ottawa.
"Ridiculous!" Anastasio slammed the paper in his hand on the table, his eyes full of anger, glaring at the head of the credit department, who was standing a short distance away.
The minister ducked his head, not daring to utter a word.
"Tell me! Who told you to double the interest rate?" asked Anastasio sternly.
The minister swallowed hard and spoke cautiously, "The Leoz Group desperately needs a loan and would surely agree to double the interest rate, I just wanted to make more money for the bank!" "Bastard!" scolded Anastasio, unable to contain himself.
The minister shuddered in fear.
"Double the interest rate, you're breaking the rules of the market, you want the state to step in and clean up Euro Pacific Bank?" Anastasio's voice became harsher.
It was then that the minister realized the gravity of the situation, "Governor, I'm sorry, I know I made a mistake, I will tell Mr. Marcos right now that the interest rate is not going up."
Anastasio took a deep breath: "I know what you have in mind. It's that the Leoz Group has fallen into disgrace and you want to take advantage of it.
But you mustn't forget what kind of man Marcos is. It would be better not to offend him.
