Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1473: Awake at last

"I understand. I will sign the loan application right now and arrange payment to the Leoz Group right away." The minister finished and hurriedly left.

Anastasio let out a long sigh of relief; it was fortunate that Marcos had found him in time, otherwise this would have been a real problem if he had offended someone completely. Alfredo was too excited to knock on the door and pushed his way into the president's office.

"Prince, you're here!"

The corners of Marcos' mouth lifted apparently, "Very well. With the funds in place, all the company's projects can move forward smoothly." Alfredo felt that he had finally removed a big stone that had been weighing on his heart for days, and his face had a little more of a smile on it.

"Prince, next time I will be more careful so that the same thing doesn't happen again." He assured Marcos.

Marcos nodded, "I trust you."

All the Leoz Group's projects returned to normal, the stock rebounded quickly and the crisis of the leaked AI project dissipated completely. Paulina thought of only one thing when she heard the good news, that Marcos could finally go home early and get some rest.

What Paulina didn't know was that there would be another piece of good news that day.

Around noon, Paulina received a phone call from her mother, Agustina.

No sooner had she picked up the phone, before she had time to speak, Agustina's excited voice came over the phone.

"Paulina, your grandfather is awake, awake!".

"What?" Paulina sat up with a start, she thought she had misheard, "Mom, what did you say?"

"Your grandfather just woke up."

With that said, Agustina burst into tears, "Wake up, finally."

Paulina's eyes couldn't help but turn red, "Grandpa..."

Her hands were shaking with emotion.

She lifted her face and smiled, tears sliding down her cheeks.

Grandpa had finally woken up.

The spirited old man had finally awakened after months of being in a coma.

He raised his hand to wipe away his tears and asked, "Mom, can Grandpa talk, can he recognize you?"

"He just woke up and his consciousness is still a little fuzzy. The doctor says it's a miracle he's awake, and it will be a little difficult if he's still trying to regain his old spirit." Even through the earpiece, I could hear the loss in my mother's voice.

"Mom, even if Grandpa's spirit isn't as good as it used to be, he's sure to remember you. After all, you are his dearest daughter." said Paulina in a reassuring tone. "Take some time to come and see your grandfather." Agustina said on the other end of the phone.

Paulina's mouth curved slightly, "All right."

After hanging up the phone, Paulina laughed softly, her mother's wish for so many years would finally have a chance to come true.

Mr. Juan and Mrs. Gloria were thrilled to hear that Grandpa Khan had woken up.

"We have to go see Mr. sometime." Mrs. Gloria said as she looked at Mr. Juan.

Mr. Juan smiled and nodded, "Hmm. Go with MarcosPaulina then."

"Mom, we will go when we are done with the company." Paulina said, "But I'm afraid that will be a few days from now."

As much as she wanted to fly to Kyoto right now, she knew in her heart that the company had just gotten underway and Marcos couldn't get away for a while. "It's okay, your grandfather will understand." Mrs. Gloria patted his hand, reassuringly.

Only Paulina had not expected the week to pass after this wait.

During that time, both Agustina and Dulce had called her to ask when she was leaving for Kyoto and she had said in a few days.

Marcos looked at Paulina, who was sitting on the couch, sorting through information, with a thoughtful expression.

"Paulina, your grandfather has sobered up a lot and recognizes people. He's even asked about you and Marcos."

"He says he misses Esteban and Sweety."

"When are they coming?"

...

As if her mother's words were still ringing in her ears, Paulina gently closed her laptop and tilted her head back to look at the ceiling, a sigh escaped her lips. She wanted to quit her job and go straight to Kyoto to see her grandfather.

But reason told him no, that would be irresponsible.

"Do you want to go to Kyoto?"

Marcos' deep voice rang out in the quiet office.

Startled, Paulina turned her head and unexpectedly met him in eyes as deep as dark pools.

Suddenly she had the feeling that her mind was completely penetrated by him.

"Think." He answered her frankly.

The corner of Mark's mouth lifted, "When the international conference is over tomorrow, the current work will come to an end and we can take a few days off." "Really?" asked Paulina in surprise as she sat up straight.

The smile on Mark's lips intensified and he nodded, "Well, really."

"Then we can go to Kyoto to see Grandpa." Paulina let out a sigh of relief, "Finally there's time."

At that moment, Mark got up and sat beside her, raising his arm around her shoulders, "I'm sorry I put it off for so many days."

Paulina shook her head softly, "It's okay. I know what's important, the company is barely out of danger, Grandpa and my mother and brother-in-law are taking care of her, she'll be fine." She was always so understanding it was heartbreaking.

Mark hugged her and said, "This time we can stay in Kyoto for a few more days, so you can talk to Grandpa more."

"Thank you." Paulina rested her head on his shoulder and their fingers intertwined in a sweet and cozy atmosphere.

...

In the evening, after dinner, Paulina took the two children upstairs.

She had just entered the children's room when suddenly her cell phone rang.

It was Edgar.

She picked it up, "Primo."

"Paulina, are you busy?" asked Edgar on the other end of the phone.

"I'm not busy."

The two little ones had run to the play blanket to put Lego together while she answered the phone, pulled the phone out to the balcony and asked, "How's Grandpa?"

"All is well with Grandpa and he is in much better spirits. He's even dragged his aunt out to talk a lot today."

From Edgar's tone, she could hear that he was still in good spirits. Paulina couldn't help but lift the corners of her lips and asked again, "Did you call me to ask when I'm going to Kyoto?" "Yes and no. I have something to tell you."

"Hmm?" Paulina couldn't help but wonder what it was she wanted to tell herself.

"It's going to be Grandpa's birthday soon. My parents intend to make it a lively affair, after all, it's a double celebration."

"Fine." Paulina agreed, then worriedly asked, "But will Grandpa's body be able to withstand the torment?"

Grandpa had been asleep for a long time and had just woken up a few days ago, and his body was still recovering.

However, the birthday banquet was definitely going to be attended by his old man, and it was inevitable that he would have to meet some relatives who were not even close to him, consuming his mind and soul. "It's not intended to be a big party, just a gathering of close people for a meal." Edgar knew what was bothering her and took the floor to explain.

Paulina reassured her, "It's okay. We'll be there when the time comes."

"Have your in-laws, Alvaro and the others come."

Paulina smiles, "Yes. I'll talk to them."

They talk a while longer before Paulina hangs up the phone.
