Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1483: Aren't you surprised?
Paulina tiptoed open the door to the boys' room and slowed her steps to enter.
Walking over to Esteban's bed, she looked down, her gentle gaze falling on Esteban's tender little face.
A feeling of happiness instantly flooded her heart.
This was her son!
Unable to contain her excitement, she leaned over and gently kissed Esteban on the cheek.
Esteban's eyes opened with an ooh.
Wide-eyed.
A little embarrassed, Paulina took a step back, lifted the corner of her mouth and asked softly, "Why are you still awake?"
"I couldn't sleep.
If he hadn't been awake, he wouldn't have known that his mommy would sneak a kiss.
"Do you want mommy to stay with you?" asked Paulina again.
Esteban pursed his lips, "Is that all right with you?"
"Sure."
At that, Esteban climbed inside the bed and Paulina leaned over the bed, stretching her arm around him and looking down at him with a soft, soggy gaze. "Esteban, today is your maternal great-grandfather's birthday and, as it turns out, it fulfills a wish I've had for years."
"What?" Esteban raised his eyes and fixed them on hers.
The corners of Paulina's mouth lifted and she whispered, "You're mama's boy."
Esteban's brow furrowed in slight confusion, "Haven't I always been your son?"
"No." Paulina shook her head, "I'm talking about my own son."
She had expected Esteban to be surprised to replace out, but instead Esteban just nodded, "Oh."
"Doesn't that surprise you?" asked Paulina suspiciously.
"I'm not surprised." Esteban smiled, "Because from the first moment I saw Mom, I decided you were my mom."
"Esteban," said Paulina, she moved to hug him tightly and kissed him on the forehead, "Mami was so happy and blessed when she found out." "Mami, I'm happy too."
"Good boy." Paulina kissed him again and said, "Go to bed early and tomorrow Mommy will take you and Sweety to play."
"Mmm."
Stephen nodded vigorously, closed his eyes obediently and pulled his body closer to Paulina.
Mommy's smell was very soothing.
Perhaps because Paulina was with him, it didn't take long for Esteban to fall asleep.
Paulina gently got out of bed, tucked Esteban in and reached out to touch his little cheeks, "Goodnight, baby."
She turned and left the room.
Marcos was waiting for her outside.
"Asleep?" Marcos asked aloud as he watched her gently close the door.
Paulina nodded, "Yes, asleep."
Paulina noticed that he didn't look well and asked with concern, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing, I just really wished I could get my memory back sooner." Marcos took her in his arms.
Paulina opened her arms around his waist and buried her face in his arms, "Is it because of what happened tonight?"
"Mmm. I think we had a lot of good memories between us and I really want to remember them all."
A low voice tinged with loss rang in Paulina's ears and she couldn't help but feel a little heartbroken as her arms around him slowly tightened. "It's okay, we can take our time, there's no rush."
She tilted her head, her gaze settling on his clean jaw as she continued, "Memories of the past are wonderful, but we can make wonderful memories now too." She said, her voice growing softer and softer, "And, as long as you are by my side, I am happy."
Mark felt his heart soar to its fullest and his arms around her tightened unconsciously, wanting to embed her in his body.
Despite having lost his memory, his love for her had not diminished, but had grown even more.
They embraced in silence for a while before separating.
"Marcos, I want to stay with Grandpa for a few more days, is that okay?". Paulina raised her eyes and her questioning gaze settled on his face.
A slight smile tugged at the corners of Marcos' mouth, "Of course. It's just that I have to go back tomorrow first."
Paulina knew he was busy with work and smiled, "Good. You must remember to eat on time, don't stay late working, don't overwork and ..."
She looked so cute with her broken heart that Mark couldn't help but laugh, "I know. You don't have to worry too much about me, I'll take care of myself."
He had promised to take care of himself, but Paulina knew very well how he would remember to take care of himself once he got to work.
"I'll have Alfredo supervise that you eat on time every day."
Marcos cried and laughed, "Paulina, I'm not a child anymore."
"You are not a child, but you are even more disobedient than a child."
Seeing her seriousness, Marcos smiled and put his arms around her, "Okay, I'll do whatever you say."
"That's what you said." Paulina lifted her little face to look at him, "If I catch you not eating in time, I'll make sure you don't get it."
"I'm going to listen better than Esteban, Sweety and the others." Marcos immediately raised his hands in cooperation.
Paulina smiled in satisfaction, "Okay, I'll trust you for now."
"So Mrs. Leoz, can we go back to our room and rest?" asked Marcos.
Paulina raised an eyebrow, "Yes."
Paulina was really tired and fell asleep as soon as she touched the bed.
The next day, after breakfast, Marcos went straight back to J-Town. Before he left, he made a point of telling her that he was going to be there. Before leaving, he told Edgar to send someone to protect Paulina and the two children, even if it was in Kyoto, it was always good to be careful. "Don't worry, cousin husband, I will take care of Paulina and the girls." Edgar assured him.
"Thank you."
Once Mark had left, Paulina took the two little girls to the backyard of the old house.
Grandpa Khan thought about Paulina staying home with the girls and was reluctant to return to the hospital for a while.
Edgar talked to the doctor and decided that a good state of mind would be more conducive to Grandpa's recovery, so he let him stay home for a while.
At the time, he was watering the flowers, and when he saw them coming, he waved, "Come."
Esteban and Sweety ran to him.
"Come on, help me water the flowers, will you?" The old man asked with a smile.
Esteban nodded, "Okay."
Then he took the teapot from the old man's hand and led Sweety to water the flowers.
"How are you feeling today, Grandpa?" asked Paulina with concern as she pushed the old man to the side of the tree.
The old man looked at her sideways, half seriously, half jokingly, "Grandpa feels much better when he sees you guys, maybe tomorrow he can get out of this wheelchair."
"Is that so?" Paulina knelt down and gently took his hand.
It was very thin, barely a bit of flesh, and the bones felt a little pinched to the touch.
Paulina's nose couldn't help but sour, she had been in a coma for so long and had lost so much weight, she felt empty in her old clothes.
"Why don't you say anything, girl?" the old man asked as he noticed her staring at his hand, not saying a word.
Paulina blinked with slightly moist eyes and lifted her head, the corners of her mouth turned up in a big smile. "I was thinking it would be nice to be able to be with Grandpa every day." "Silly girl, you have your own family now, you have to put your own family first in everything." Said the old man in a serious tone.
Although he too wanted them to be with him every day, after all she was someone else's daughter-in-law and couldn't be with him all the time.
"Marcos is not going to say anything." said Paulina.
The old man laughed, "Girl, he won't say anything because he loves you, but you love him too, don't you want to part with him?".
Paulina bit her lip and answered truthfully, "No".
"Then it's okay. I'm fine with you staying and spending a few more days with me." Grandpa said, "But I'd be even happier if I wished you young people well."
"I will, Grandpa." Paulina leaned her head on his leg.
The old man reached up and gently stroked her head, his gaze shifted to the two young men watering the flowers not far away and slowly curved the corners of his lips.
