Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1485: The contract has been drawn up.
Marcos was not surprised by Blythe's arrival.
Having promised to work with JR earlier, but he had made no move, Blythe was obviously anxious, and so had once again come to the door in person. "Paulina, then sit down and wait for me for a while, I'll be back soon."
Mark smiled at Paulina and lifted his feet to walk out the door.
"Can I come with you?" Paulina took his hand.
Marcos turned, smiled softly and agreed, "Yes."
Blythe sat in the conference room, her mind filled with memories of when she was Earlene.
She remembered fondly the time she and Marcos had spent together.
She had been happy and blissful back then.
But those days were ultimately ruined by Paulina.
She threw her head back and closed her eyes to hide the hatred welling up under them.
He would get revenge for what Paulina had done to him.
At that moment, the door to the conference room was pushed open from the outside.
Hearing the commotion, Blythe immediately pulled herself together and stood up, looking out of the corner of her eye.
She saw Mark and Pauline entering hand in hand.
Her gaze fell on their intertwined hands and a somber look crossed the back of her eyes.
Paulina noticed his stare and her fine eyebrows furrowed in confusion, "Sister Blythe, what are you looking at?"
At the sound of his voice, Blythe immediately withdrew her gaze and lifted her lips in a smile, "Nothing. It's just that I replace your partner's relationship enviable." Paulina laughed and said nothing more.
When the three of them sat down, Blythe got straight to the point, "Mr. Marcos, hadn't we agreed to work together last time, how come it's been so long and there's been no movement?" Marcos felt very comfortable that this was what he had come for.
"Sister Blythe knows what happened to us in the Leoz Group some time ago, and I've been so busy these days trying to sort it out that I haven't had time to think about working together." His tone was light, without a ripple of emotion, a statement of fact.
But Blythe wasn't convinced.
It seemed to her that it was just an excuse he was making.
Maybe he was giving her the benefit of the doubt last time, and if she hadn't come to him in person today, the partnership would have been a failure. Today she had to make sure he signed the contract.
"So, is Mr. Marcos free today?" asked Blythe with a smile.
Instead of answering her, Marcos said, "I already have the contract drafted and it's ready to be signed at any time."
Blythe was taken aback, not expecting him to be so blunt.
Then she laughed and said frankly, "There's really nothing to hide from Mr. Marcos."
Then she asked, "So we'll sign the contract today, okay?".
Marcos turned his head to Alfredo, who was standing behind him, and said, "Bring the contract."
"Yes."
Alfredo turned and walked out, and in less than two minutes came in with the contract.
Mark took the contracts and pushed one of them in front of Blythe, "Mr. Blythe take a look at the terms and conditions before you feel ready to sign." Blythe glanced at him, looked down and opened the contract and examined it closely.
The meeting room fell silent.
Paulina turned her head to Mark and gave him a questioning look.
Did she really want to work with JR?
Marcos squeezed her palm, telling her not to worry.
Paulina was relieved, yes, he must have his measure for getting things done, he would be fine.
It was just Blythe ...
Her eyes fell on Blythe's beautiful face, and there was something vaguely unsettling in her mind. After reading it, Blythe looked up and smiled, "The terms are all in order, sign it."
Mark's expression was light, and the word "yes" escaped his thin lips.
Alfredo handed the pen to Marcos and Blythe.
Blythe watched Marcos turn directly to the last page of the contract and sign his name.
The smile on his face intensified a little and she looked down and signed her name as well.
After signing it, she stood up and extended her right hand, "Mr. Marcos, a pleasure working together."
"A pleasure working with you." Marcos only nodded slightly and did not return the handshake.
A trace of loss crossed Blythe's mind as she withdrew her hand and smiled, "At last my greatest wish at home has been fulfilled."
Seeing that Marcos had no intention of responding, he raised his eyebrows unconcernedly and said, "Now that the contract is signed, I can return in peace."
At these words, Marcos immediately ordered, "Alfredo, escort Sister Blythe downstairs."
There was no intention of keeping her any longer.
The smile on Blythe's face froze for a moment, but quickly returned, "So, if there are any problems with the collaboration, Mr. Marcos can always contact me." "Right." Marcos' face remained expressionless.
Without another word, Blythe turned and headed for the door.
As she reached the door, as if something suddenly occurred to her, she stopped, turned around and walked over to Paulina, pulled a box out of her purse and handed it to her, "Mrs. Leoz, this is for you."
Paulina looked at the box and did not take it, politely declining, "No need to be so polite, I appreciate your kindness."
"Mrs. Leoz, is this a bad gift?" asked Blythe, looking puzzled.
Paulina smiled slightly, "Of course not. It's just not deserved."
"It's fine." Blythe took her hand and slipped the box into her hand, "I've known you since we met, it's only fair to give a gift."
"Thank you then."
At this point, Paulina could only accept it and replace the opportunity to send another gift in return.
She wasn't curious about what exactly was in the box.
She hadn't had a good feeling about Blythe from the beginning, and she wasn't about to change just for a gift.
"It's a perfume I brought back from a special order from overseas. It's a limited edition and it smells wonderful, you're going to love it."
"Perfume." Paulina smiled awkwardly, "I don't usually wear it, you might as well take it and wear it, so you don't waste your heart."
"What kind of person gives someone a gift and then asks for it back." Blythe smiled, "Actually, someone as handsome as you should put on some perfume to add a little glamour and then Mr. Marcos will feel more and more devoted to you." Paulina meant that even without the perfume, Marcos was still dead to her.
But before she could say anything, she heard Blythe continue, "The top notes of this perfume are quite seductive, very pleasant, and you will love it."
As if he didn't believe her, he took the box from her hand and opened it as he said, "If you don't believe me, you can smell it."
He opened the perfume and sprayed it two or three times on Paulina's neck.
Paulina didn't have time to dodge, and the strong scent hit her nose directly. "Achoo!"
She sneezed and reached up to rub her uncomfortable nose.
Seeing this, a quick smile of triumph appeared in Blythe's eyes, but her mouth said, "Oops, sorry, rude, I shouldn't have sprayed in your face, are you okay?"
Her apology and concern didn't seem genuine.
Paulina waved her hand to indicate she was fine.
"Put that perfume away, and remember to use it." Blythe slipped the perfume back into her hand and said to Marcos, "Mr. Marcos, I'll leave you, I'll be in touch if I need anything." She waved to Paulina and left in style.
