Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1531: What's the good news?
"No way out for now." Paulina smiled bitterly, "Almeida they are still working on it, there may be a way later." "Mrs. Paulina," Edwina squeezed her hand tightly.
"I'm fine, you don't have to worry too much about me." Paulina stroked his hand, reassuringly.
Edgar sighed softly, "You're like that and you comfort us in return."
"Or what?" Paulina laughed and teased, "By taking you all to cry with me?"
Edgar laughed and said nothing more.
Paulina looked Edwina up and down, "Why do you look like you've slimmed down to me?" Edwina turned her head to look at Edgar, lowered her head and said shyly, "I'm having a baby." "Huh?" Paulina froze for a moment and looked at her belly in surprise. "Are... you're pregnant?" "Almost three months." Edwina reached up to cover her still flat belly, a happy smile on her face. "Congratulations!" Paulina was happy for her.
"We were supposed to come see you when you were in the hospital. But Edwina was very reactive and couldn't come." Edgar looked distressed at the mention, "Luckily she's better today, so we were able to come see you." Paulina frowned, "Actually you don't have to come, I'm just fine. Edwina is pregnant and it's too much for her to come on purpose."
"Mrs. Paulina, I am very aware of my body and the baby is struggling, I am really better today than before." said Edwina.
"However, you have lost a lot of weight." Paulina looked at her worriedly, "When this initial reaction passes, you need to get your brother-in-law to give you a good tonic or the baby won't be able to keep up with the nutrition." Edwina nodded, "Yes.".
Paulina was in a better mood because of Edgar and Edwina's arrival, and pulled Edwina to talk all afternoon.
In the evening, Edgar and Edwina stayed for dinner.
After dinner, they left.
Edwina was pregnant, so Edgar took her back to Kyoto early for fear of tiring her out.
When Marcos returned home from work, Edgar and the others had already returned.
Paulina was very excited when he mentioned it to her.
"Marcos, Edwina is pregnant and I'm going to be an aunt!"
Seeing how happy she was, Marcos couldn't help a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "So, I'm going to be an aunt?".
"Yes." Paulina thought seriously and said, "We should meet and greet the baby first."
Marcos took her in his arms and smiled, "Good. When you're well, we'll go buy it." "I'm fine now." Paulina looked up, blinked and looked at him with a sincere face. "Really?" Marcos looked at her with a wry smile.
Meeting his dark, inky eyes, Paulina instantly swooned and lowered her head, muttering, "Well, not even close."
Marcos knew she must be bored from staying home the last few days to recuperate.
He put his arm around her and asked softly, "How are you feeling today?"
"Not too bad." Paulina wrapped her arms around his waist, rested her head on his chest and whispered, "You don't have to worry too much about me, I'm home every day, I have Mommy to take care of me, I'll be fine. On the other hand, how are you and Bergerian doing?".
"He's trying everything to set up a company in J-town, I told Alfredo to replace a way to stop him."
Paulina's eyebrows furrowed, "Bergerian is an extremely dangerous man, and I'm afraid he will do anything he can. There's no telling what the Leoz Group will do if he gets angry, and you can't count on the reputation he's managed to salvage." The words were full of concern for the Leoz Group and for him.
Marcos let go of her, took her shoulders between his and looked down.
All four eyes met.
She smiled faintly, "Don't you trust me?"
"Of course I believe you." Paulina said seriously, "I'm just afraid, after all, the Bergerian is really very dangerous."
Mark reached up and smoothed her hair behind her ear, his voice was soft, "Don't worry about it, I'll replace a way to take care of it. You just need to stay home and recover." Paulina nodded, "Okay."
"That's a good girl." Mark rubbed her head and pulled her back into his arms.
...
Bergerian's plans to start a career in J-town fell through due to Marcos' various obstructions.
"Damn Marcos!" Bergerian was furious as he threw the application file on the table and reached up to tug at his tie, his face hard.
"Is there another way, sir?" Carl had been following Bergerian for the past few days, but was annoyed by the number of authorities he had to deal with.
Bergerian's eyes narrowed and he said quietly, "J-City is in the Leoz Group's sphere of influence, after all, and as long as Marcos is there, we won't be able to establish ourselves in J-City." Carl frowned, "So what then?"
Bergerian shot him a look and said, "Since J-City can't take me in, I'll go to another city. I don't think Marcos' hands will reach that far.
And with the drug patents I currently hold, I think I would be welcome in this country."
So the next day Bergerian left J-town with his people and arrived in the neighboring city, D-town.
In this new city, Bergerian was able to set up a new pharmaceutical company, despite the resistance he encountered.
Bergerian uses his experience to quickly negotiate some partnerships.
When Lisa received the news, she felt furious and hated.
It seemed that Bergerian was determined to stay in the country, even though Mark had reprimanded him, he had chosen to bite his tongue and not fight back at all.
Bergerian, who had always been unstoppable and forceful, had now become a coward because she was a woman!
Lisa couldn't imagine that he was the man she loved!
The more Lisa thought about it, the angrier she got, grabbed the cup from the table and slammed it on the floor.
The more Lisa thought about it, the angrier she got.
Instantly, the cup shattered into pieces, splattering shards everywhere.
"Bergerian, why can't you understand that bitch will never like you until she dies!" Lisa gritted her teeth, her face tinged with hatred as her delicate makeup turned grim.
Just then, the men rushed in to report, "Ma'am, Miss Blythe is here."
As Blythe entered, she saw the debris on the floor and raised an eyebrow, asking knowingly, "Who has upset you so much to make you so angry?"
"What are you doing here?" asked Lisa coolly.
Blythe smiled, "I just came to see you. And give you the good news."
She deliberately pronounced the word "good" with special emphasis.
Lisa narrowed her eyes, "What's the good news?".
Blythe walked over to the couch and sat down, unpacked her purse, lifted her legs and folded them, turned her head and looked at her with a Dulce smile. "Bergerian, your ex-husband, has set up a pharmaceutical company in D-Town."
