Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1562: I still remember it well
The Leoz family.
Paulina was watching cartoons with her two children when the cell phone resting on the table suddenly vibrated.
She picked up the phone, which she had glanced at by chance.
But when she saw the message, the corners of her mouth twisted and she said to the two children, "Esteban, Sweety, Mommy can't stay with you." The two little ones turned their heads at the same time.
"Why?" asked Sweety.
Paulina reached out and stroked his little head, gently explaining, "Mommy has something to do tonight."
"What is it?" asked Sweety again.
"Daddy's inviting me to dinner tonight."
"I'm coming too."
As soon as Sweety said that, Esteban immediately said in a serious tone, "Sweety, it's Dad and Mom's date, we can't go."
"But I want to have dinner with daddy too." said Sweety resignedly.
These days Marcos had been so busy with the company that he left early and came back late every day and had not had time to eat with them. Seeing Sweety's aggrieved look, Paulina had the idea to take them with her.
"Sweety behave yourself, daddy must have something to tell mommy, we'll bother them."
But before she could say anything, she heard Esteban advise Sweety as such.
Sweety, small but understanding, looked at Paulina with big dark eyes as dark as grapes and pouted, "All right then, I'll listen to my brother." "Our Sweety is so good!" Paulina hugged her and kissed her on the forehead.
"You have to be good at home and listen to Grandma and Grandpa."
"Okay."
Paulina went upstairs to change clothes after receiving a response from both children.
...
Marcos drove to the restaurant where he had arranged to meet Paulina, which was located on the top floor of the hotel.
He approaches her.
The dining room has a picture window overlooking J-town at night.
Paulina looked out the window, not realizing that someone had approached from behind.
Suddenly, a bouquet of pink roses appeared before her.
She froze slightly, turned her head and met a pair of eyes full of tenderness.
"Mark," she was startled, "is it for me?"
She pointed to the flowers.
Marcos raised an eyebrow, "Or would you like me to give them to someone else?"
"No, not at all." Paulina took the flower in her hands, her slender white fingers caressed the petals, "It's beautiful, I especially like it."
Marcos smiled and sat down across from her.
Paulina looked at him and wondered, "Why all of a sudden do you want to give me flowers?".
"Even though we are an older married couple, we have to keep it interesting." said Marcos seriously.
Paulina couldn't help but laugh and joked, "You weren't like that before, you were so cold."
"You were?"
"Of course. It was hard to get in touch with him. I still remember when you came to the door with Esteban."
"It was a strategic attack. Esteban liked you at the time and I was a little suspicious at first." Speaking of which, Marcos recalled the day, "Esteban stayed at your house that night and didn't want to leave, so I made sure he wanted to keep you close."
The memories came back to his mind and the corners of Paulina's lips twisted more and more, it was so long ago but it always seemed like it had happened yesterday.
Even though it had seemed cold at the time, the memories were still sweet.
She rested her hand on his cheek, her gaze rested on his handsome face, and she lamented, "You haven't changed a bit after all this time, you're still as handsome and as much of an asshole as ever."
He hadn't really changed at all since the first time she saw him, only his temper had become more subdued.
Marcos smiled, even the tips of his eyebrows tinged with a small smile. "You look prettier too, just a little thinner."
Paulina reached up and touched his cheek, smiling, "I'll try to eat again then."
They then looked at each other with a smile and turned their heads to look out the floor-to-ceiling windows at the same time.
Night had fallen and the lights were shining brightly, reflecting against the points of starlight in the sky, so calm and beautiful.
They both enjoyed a pleasant dinner accompanied by the melodious sound of the restaurant's piano.
As they left the hotel, Marcos glanced sideways at Paulina in the passenger seat and the corners of his lips twisted, "I'm taking you somewhere."
"Where?" Paulina turned her head to look at him.
Marcos looked at the road in front of the car, "We'll see when we get there."
The windows were half rolled down and the cool evening breeze was blowing into the car. Paulina slowly closed her eyes and enjoyed the moment of rest.
Just as she was falling asleep, the car stopped.
She opened her eyes, sat up straight, turned her head to look out the window and lost her smile, "So this is it."
It was a villa in the hills outside J-town.
She got out of the car and Marcos drove her to the villa.
It had been a while since they had been here, but the villa was clean and welcoming, with a dedicated caretaker. They went straight up to the third floor terrace.
As soon as they stepped outside, the view they beheld amazed Paulina, "What a beautiful night view."
She let go of Mark's hand and ran to the terrace, resting her hand on the railing.
The dazzling night view of the city, with its bright lights flowing like a river, was a sight to behold.
Paulina closed her eyes and felt the evening breeze on her face, the air seemed to have a faint scent of flowers.
Suddenly, her waist tightened and she fell into a warm embrace.
Mark hugged her from behind and his deep voice sounded in her ear, "Do you like it here?".
Paulina leaned back against him and smiled Sweetly, "Yes, of course I do."
Mark buried his face between the nape of her neck and inhaled deeply, the clean, fresh scent that belonged to him filled his entire nose.
"I've been so busy I haven't had time for you." He said softly.
Paulina shook her head, "It's okay, I know you're busy."
The two were silent for a while before Mark spoke again, "We'll spend the night here."
"Okay."
Paulina brought her hand to his waist, the corners of her lips ever upward, this was a moment for the two of them.
How nice it would be if time could stay, to be with this man by her side for the rest of her life, not to be separated in any way ...
