Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 184: Why did you come on a blind date
Linn Dail put a face of disbelief on Eloise when she said she had nothing to do with Hector Rogers.
"Eloise, don't lie to me, I can see that Mr Hector likes you, he was so nervous when you fainted at the party last time, he even drove you to the office this morning, and now you're telling me that you two aren't what I think you are? No, even if you don't like him, then really, Mr Egbert is fine!"
When Eloise Thompson chooses to go on a blind date instead of two such good men, Linn Dail just wants to beat her up.
Eloise Thompson's mouth curled into a bitter smile and she spoke somewhat helplessly, "They're naturally good, but that doesn't mean, that they belong to you."
Hector Rogers doesn't belong with him, and Egbert Chumley, and Eloise Thompson doesn't want to give him any hope that he might not be able to respond to him in his own lifetime, so Eloise Thompson can't pull him as a shield anyway. Linn Dail saw the look on Eloise Thompson's face and knew she was in some kind of trouble, so she said, "OK, I'll go with you."
"Thank you, then." Eloise Thompson opened her mouth in response.
Linn Dail sighs and just feels lost inside, imaginary love story just shattered...
Eloise Thompson looked at her and smiled a little helplessly.
At dinner, the two arrived at a restaurant in secret, as if they were thieves.
The appointment was still empty, and the other person didn't seem to have come yet.
"Eloise, let's not go over there yet! I've heard there are a lot of oddballs on this blind date, so we'd better watch and observe from a distance now, and if it doesn't work out, we'll just disappear."
Eloise Thompson felt that Linn Dail had a point, so she took a seat on the edge, intending to observe first.
The two sat for a while before a man came from the seat they had arranged.
The man, dressed in a black suit and plain looking and unmistakable, took his place.
Eloise Thompson also appeared in a hurry, and Linn Dail was watching to see what was going on.
The man was nice at first, but was getting impatient, and it was only ten minutes old.
At the end, he even cursed in public, "Fuck, are you coming or not! Do you know how valuable my time is?"
Linn Dail looked hesitant and stammered, "Eloise, let's not do this! A man like that has a bad temper, and he might even get violent afterwards! It's horrible."
Naturally Eloise Thompson thought it made sense, she needed a boyfriend but how could she not get one like that, thinking, she went to the bathroom and took out her phone and dialed the man's number. The man picks up the phone with a completely different face and looks more than polite.
"When will Miss Eloise arrive? Is there a problem on the way? Do you want me to come and pick you up?"
Eloise Thompson thinks about how impatient the man looked just now and how different he looks from this! What a way to act.
"Sorry, Mr Denton, I fell on my way here and couldn't make it, I'm so sorry, let's cancel today's meeting!"
After the call hung up, the man took an angry sip of water, then slammed the glass heavily onto the table and cursed some more.
"Shit, wasting my time for nothing and falling over, I think it's a dead fall!"
After scolding, the man then left the restaurant.
Looking at his back as he left, the thought of that face just now made Linn Dail incredibly disgusted, so she spoke up, "Eloise, why don't you consider Mr Hector and Mr Egbert?"
To the end, Linn Dail couldn't figure out what kind of reason Eloise Thompson had to give up on these two wonderful men to come on a blind date.
Eloise Thompson was embarrassed, "The next one might be good?"
"Eloise, nowadays those who come on blind dates are basically those who can't get married, they must just be too bad in real life so they can't replace anyone, what could be good... Of course, I'm not saying you're bad! It's just that this ... man you just saw, really, this is terrible too."
How could Eloise Thompson not understand Linn Dail's point, but the appointment was made, so let's meet the next one!
Both Linn Dail and Eloise Thompson had lost hope when, half an hour later, a second came.
The man was dressed in a suit, handsome and elegant looking, and looked very gentlemanly.
Linn Dail's eyes lit up, "Eloise, this doesn't look too bad!"
Eloise Thompson nodded and felt the same.
"Let's watch and see! Maybe it's the same as the one just now!"
"Well, that makes sense, you can't just look at the outside."
As earlier, Eloise Thompson deliberately consumed him for half an hour from her position not far away, the man was unresponsive, silently looking at a magazine and occasionally making a few phone calls, seemingly on business.
...
After looking around, Eloise Thompson and Linn Dail both felt good about it, so they showed up to meet with each other.
"Hi, you're Miss Eloise, right? My name is Corey Brookins."
He also spoke in a warm, jade-like voice, which was inexplicably similar to Egbert Chumley's.
"Yes, hello, my name is Eloise Thompson."
After saying hello, Eloise Thompson took a seat, which she found a little awkward at first, but the two had a brief conversation and surprisingly ended up chatting.
Eloise Thompson was quite impressed with this Corey Brookins, who, she understood, seemed to be working as an executive in a business and was considered young and promising.
The two were talking quite comfortably and Eloise Thompson then joked, "What's a guy as good as Mr Corey doing on a blind date?"
Corey Brookins, with a faint smile on his face, spoke up and asked rhetorically, "Isn't Miss Eloise good too, so why is she here on a blind date?"
Eloise Thompson gave a beat and hesitated for a moment, but spoke honestly, "I was in a hurry to meet someone for personal reasons."
"Coincidentally, so do I. Since we're all the same, why don't we try to come and go, make friends first, and then decide if we want to be together when it's right." Corey Brookins smiled. Eloise Thompson smiled back when she saw how thorough the man was and spoke, "Good."
Once that was out of the way, Eloise Thompson was less embarrassed and called Linn Dail over.
"I hope Mr Corey doesn't mind."
Corey Brookins didn't mind, saying with a smile on his face, "It's only right for girls to be a little protective."
Linn Dail came over and spoke up quietly, "Eloise, here's another quality guy, why are you so lucky, share one with me!"
With the likes of Mr Egbert and Mr Hector, Linn Dail is jealous of Eloise Thompson.
Eloise Thompson bumped into her, "Keep your voice down."
Then she looked up and smiled, and Corey Brookins beckoned the waiter to hand the menu to Eloise Thompson and Linn Dail.
"Let's order first! Talk while you eat."
"Hmm." Eloise Thompson took the menu.
Just then, the door to the restaurant opened and a man in a black suit walked in, handsome and with a domineering aura of a stranger all over his body. The man in question is none other than Hector Rogers.
