Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 249: Reeva Lawson is missing
Sitting on top of a hill overlooking the landscape below can be a proper stress reliever.
Eloise Thompson's heart is sweet, she understands Hector Rogers' intentions.
For her, he really put his heart and soul into it.
A good time alone is always short.
Eloise Thompson was the first to get up as it was about to be dinner time, and it wouldn't be good if Solomon woke up and couldn't replace anyone if he didn't get back.
And, on Rupert Rogers' side of the table, there were just three of them going about their business.
They had been tossing and turning for so long that it was no good making them wait any longer. Hector Rogers didn't block either, and with a few steps, had made his way over to Eloise Thompson. With a slight movement of his hand, he took her hand in his again, as if he could never hold it enough. Eloise Thompson flashed him, a blushing smile, and within moments, had returned to camp.
Before they could stand, Solomon rushed up.
"I told you, Solomon's going to have to come to us when he wakes up." Eloise Thompson's arms swooped into a soft and cuddly Solomon, a smile spreading across her face that she couldn't hide. Hector Rogers looked on with a surprisingly small amount of jealousy.
I'm afraid Eloise Thompson's place in Solomon's heart is growing by the day.
However, he was relieved that Solomon relied so much on Eloise Thompson, and that there was finally someone in the family who could cure Solomon.
He had just come back to his senses when he heard Solomon complaining about him, "Daddy, you're so inadequate to take Mummy away for so long and not know to take me with you." Hector Rogers glanced down at Solomon and ignored Solomon's complaint.
Eloise Thompson, however, smiled and picked up Solomon, "Well, Solomon fell asleep earlier and your daddy couldn't bear to wake you up."
"Mummy, is that really true?" Solomon asked, looking up and fluttering his bright eyes.
She smiled and put Solomon down, still a real Grinch.
Eloise Thompson led Solomon over and was about to help when Rupert Rogers waved his hand, "Sister-in-law, I wouldn't dare borrow you, you should go and keep my brother company." Seeing the proclivity in Rupert Rogers' eyes, Eloise Thompson had no choice but to go and sit down next to Hector Rogers.
"Mummy, Solomon's hungry." Solomon is young, not to mention that he's had a lot of exercise today, and by this point in the day, is already more likely to be hungry than an adult.
Eloise Thompson, fearing that he might be hungry, was just about to get up to fetch food when Rupert Rogers, a timely man, had come over with a large plate of food.
"I baked this for you myself, your little uncle." Rupert Rogers looked at Solomon ingratiatingly.
Solomon took a skewer of kebab as soon as he could and ate it with gusto.
Rupert Rogers was hurt, he had made eyes at him, how come Solomon didn't read him a favor and give him a hug?
Eloise Thompson couldn't hold back her laughter at the hurt look on Rupert Rogers' face.
Solomon looked up unsure, "Mummy, did Solomon get some food on his mouth? Wipe me off."
Rupert Rogers was ignored by Solomon, but he didn't want to do that, so he came up to him, held his head and kissed him.
Solomon gave a stern face and ducked away, "Little Uncle, you can't kiss me."
Rupert Rogers covered his heart with a hand, his face pretending to be in pain, "Solomon, you're breaking my little uncle's heart."
Solomon gave Rupert Rogers a blank look and took another bite of his chicken heart, "Even if you're looking for presence, you should go for a female, little uncle."
The two of them play around and are very playful and amusing.
Eloise Thompson was laughing so hard she was about to burst out of her seat. Seeing that they kept going on and on, and worried that Solomon might accidentally choke, she spoke up, "Mr Rupert, you've been told to go on and roast." Rupert Rogers took one look and volunteered to walk back to the grill.
Eloise Thompson picked out a few bunches of vegetables for Solomon and meatballs, which she still didn't dare let Solomon eat much of.
"And don't you just Solomon," said Hector Rogers, holding a skewer of grilled kiwis and putting it to her mouth.
She took his hand and only finished a skewer before her face flushed uncontrollably.
"Hey, where's Reeva?"
After all this fuss, someone noticed that Reeva Lawson was missing.
Everyone looked at each other, no one knew where Reeva Lawson had gone.
"It's all grown up, you can't lose it by walking, you should just go for a walk." Boden Fay sweated as he continued to roast up the beef for the group, and the rest of the group ate. Everyone thought that the hills were beautiful and there were a number of secluded places with beautiful views, so maybe Reeva Lawson had gone there for air.
For a while, no one asked about Reeva Lawson either.
Magen Gillim, however, frowned; he had been watching Reeva Lawson and had seen which direction she had gone.
Even if you go for a break, you should be coming back.
He was too relieved to go to Reeva Lawson alone, and was even more regretful that he had to follow before.
By and by, it was getting dark.
Reeva Lawson never returned, and even Magen Gillim was missing.
Hector Rogers' face was grim as he guessed they might have stumbled into something.
With time running out, he didn't have time to think too much about it and immediately organised his men and went off in pairs to look for them.
"I'm going too." Even with her beef with Reeva Lawson, at this point in time, Eloise Thompson was worried about Reeva Lawson.
Hector Rogers glanced at Solomon and said in a deep voice, "You stay and look after Solomon, just stay in the tent and don't go anywhere."
Eloise Thompson thought about it and agreed that it was too late in the day to see much of the trail and that Solomon was too young to risk it.
She took Solomon's hand and waited until Hector Rogers was out of sight before she led him into the tent.
Once the people were gone, Eloise Thompson felt that it was too quiet inside the mountain and Solomon even shrank into her arms, whispering, "Mummy, Solomon is so scared." She gently patted Solomon's back until she put him to sleep.
What's taking so long and they haven't come back yet?
Eloise Thompson was worried and was just about to drill out to check when she heard the commotion.
"What's wrong?" She saw someone being carried from a distance.
When she got closer, she saw that it was Rupert Rogers who had been injured.
"Mr Rupert, what's wrong with you?" Eloise Thompson was startled to see his face in pain.
"Sister-in-law, I'm fine, I just broke my foot and scraped the skin a bit."
As soon as Eloise Thompson heard this, she went to get the medical kit and carefully administered the medicine for him, in case he got an infection that could cause a high fever. The rest of the group saw that Rupert Rogers was being looked after and went on to look up again.
And after Eloise Thompson had administered his medicine, she was worried about Hector Rogers.
"It's been a long time and they haven't come back yet." Eloise Thompson immediately stood up, "I'm going to replace him."
"That won't do, my brother will kill me if anything happens to you." Rupert Rogers wouldn't dare let her go and tried to stop her.
But Eloise Thompson's temper got the better of her and she was very obstinate, and no one could stop her.
They were making so much noise that Solomon was woken up.
Rupert Rogers was busy urging Solomon to call out to her, but Eloise Thompson was too busy to care and had already disappeared into the tent.
