Love Comes To Me
Chapter 271: Just an unimportant person

If it's true that Eloise is still at City J, that's a good thing.

This way, Eloise can also live her life in peace at City S.

Egbert Chumley thought about it and gave Eloise Thompson a call.

"Alumni."

The corners of Egbert Chumley's mouth couldn't help but rise at the gentle voice ringing in his ears, "How's work going?"

Eloise Thompson glanced at her colleagues buried in their work around her and gave a slight smile, "Not bad."

"Getting used to it? Do colleagues get on well?"

Hearing the concern in Egbert Chumley's words, the smile on Eloise Thompson's lips intensified, "Alumni, you introduced this job, can it be bad?"

Egbert Chumley gave a few hearty laughs, "It's good that you're getting used to it."

Eloise Thompson smiled and said nothing more.

Both men were silent for a moment before Egbert Chumley called out in a voice, "Eloise."

"Hmm."

Egbert Chumley hesitated before speaking, "He's looking for you."

Even though Egbert Chumley does not name names, it is clear who he means by "he". He was looking for her.

Eloise Thompson's heart was aching with pain, and her grip on the phone tightened.

She was silent and Egbert Chumley knew she was having a hard time and sighed softly before reassuringly saying, "Don't worry, he won't replace you for a while." She had to bother people with Alumni worrying about her.

Eloise Thompson was overwhelmed, but didn't know what to say other than thank you.

"Alumni, thank you."

"Eloise, I'm helping you, not for your gratitude, but just because you're my friend."

After hanging up the phone, with Alumni's words still seeming to echo in her ears, Eloise Thompson had some mixed feelings.

Just because they were friends, she felt it was all the more wrong to cause him trouble.

She couldn't help but sigh at the thought.

"What's wrong?"

A colleague happened to hear her sighing and turned to her, concerned.

Eloise Thompson smiled and shook her head, "I'm fine."

The colleague didn't ask much, just told her to take a break in the pantry if she was tired of working.

Acknowledging her thanks, Eloise Thompson got up and headed towards the pantry with her cup.

Although this company is not as big as JS Group and does not do as much business as JS Group, the colleagues are all quite friendly, do not bully and take care of her as a newcomer. Thanks to her work experience at JS Group, she was able to settle in quickly here.

Together with her conscientiousness and efficiency, she soon became firmly established in this company and her supervisors appreciated her.

Everything was looking up, but she was still clogged up inside.

She knew it was because of Hector Rogers.

Leaving City J on his own as if he had run away must have broken his and Solomon's hearts.

Her heart began to ache at the thought that Solomon would be crying and clamouring for her.

"Solomon, I'm sorry." She bit her lip, forcing back the tears that nearly came to her eyes.

She sucked in her nose and curled her lips; it was good that later on Hector Rogers would replace a wonderful woman to spend his life with, and Solomon would have a wonderful mummy. Not a mummy who will be pointed at and scorned.

The tears were still unstoppable.

What are you crying for?

She tilted her head back and wiped away her tears with force, the corners of her lips still upturned.

It's your choice, there's nothing to cry about.

But it was still so hard that I couldn't stop wiping the tears from my eyes.

"Solomon, I heard you like strawberry cake, I made this especially for you, try it."

Synnove Fare placed the cake she had made herself on the coffee table, then cut a small piece on a plate and brought it to Solomon.

Again!

An impatience incompatible with age appeared on Solomon's boyish face.

How many times has this been done!

It's either biscuits or cakes and he's getting annoyed!

"Solomon, taste it."

Synnove Fare smiled gently and looked at him expectantly.

"This aunt!" Solomon looked up at her with an expressionless face and said, in one particularly clear word, "I said I don't eat anything you make, don't you understand?" Synnove Fare could barely keep the smile off his face at being treated like this by a child.

But because he is Hector Rogers' son, the Rogers family's precious grandson, all he can do is try to keep a smile on his face, "Just try it, if it's not good, Aunty will learn it even better."

"I, don't, eat!" Solomon turned his head away and wrapped his arms around his chest, not even looking at her.

Synnove Fare had a dark look in her eyes and was almost unable to resist a fit when Hector's mother appeared.

"Solomon! What kind of attitude is that?" Hector's mother reprimanded in an unhappy voice.

It was the first time she had ever spoken to Solomon in that tone of voice.

Solomon couldn't take it for a moment and his eyes instantly went red, "Grandma doesn't like me, she just likes this annoying aunt."

When she saw her grandson crying, Hector's mother realised she was being a bit heavy-handed and rushed forward to hug Solomon, coaxing, "Solomon, be a good boy, Grandma loves you the most." "Cheat!" Solomon stared with big, teary eyes.

"Grandma didn't lie to you. Grandma really likes you best." Hector's mother said as she helped wipe away his tears.

"Then you let her back in." Solomon said, pointing to Synnove Fare.

Synnove Fare was at a loss as to what to do, both standing and sitting.

"Solomon, this is wrong of you." Hector's mother sank once more.

Solomon cried out, "Grandma doesn't like me, she's a liar!"

"Solomon, people's aunts are guests, how can you kick them out." Hector's mother got a little angry.

"I don't care, I want her gone."

"Solomon!"

"I don't like Grandma anymore, I want to go to Mummy." Solomon cried and ran upstairs.

"The boy!' Hector's mother was angry and helpless.

"Auntie, maybe I should go back." Synnove Fare whispered.

Hector's mother turned her head to look at her and smiled apologetically, "Synnove, I'm sorry, Solomon is still young, don't take it personally."

Synnove Fare shook her head, "No way."

"Ever since I met that Eloise Thompson, the big one and the little one have become unbearable." When it comes to Eloise Thompson, Hector's mother is all fired up.

I don't know what's so great about that woman that she has her son and grandson so much on her mind.

"Aunty, who is Eloise Thompson?" Synnove Fare asked.

Hector's mother realised she was talking too much and hastily smiled and said, "Nothing, just someone unimportant."

Synnove Fare nodded and didn't ask any more questions.

"You don't have to go back, just stay here, Hector will be back for dinner tonight." Hector's mother said.

Upon hearing that Hector Rogers would be coming in the evening, Synnove Fare's eyes lit up and she smiled shyly, "I'll be sorry to bother you then."

"We'll be family from now on, don't say anything about disturbing or not disturbing."

Hector's mother said with a smile, then stood up, "I'm going up to see Solomon and you can make yourself at home.

"Good."

Synnove Fare's face instantly grimaced as she watched Hector's mother go upstairs, not wanting to be a stepmother at all if not for the power of the Rogers family. It's really strenuous and unpleasant.
