Love Comes To Me
Chapter 276: Solomon's disappearance

When Eloise Thompson returned to the office, a colleague came up to her and spoke mysteriously, "Eloise, did you know? Our company is about to work with Rogers Group."

Eloise Thompson's eyebrows jumped at the word "Rogers Group".

It can't be that coincidental, can it?

"Which Rogers Group?" asks Eloise Thompson uncertainly.

"Yeah, it's City J's Rogers Group, don't you know?"

At that, Eloise Thompson's face changed, and it was really the Rogers Group she knew.

"The other party is coming to our company soon to talk about cooperation, and it is said that the president of the company is coming to talk personally. By the way, do you know Hector Rogers? That's a typical high-flyer. ..." The colleague is still droning on and on.

But Eloise Thompson wasn't even listening when she heard that Hector Rogers was coming.

She thought about last night and was instantly enlightened.

No wonder he was in the clubhouse yesterday.

No, she must not let him know that she was in this company.

Seeing that she looked uncomfortable, her colleague asked with concern, "Eloise, what's wrong with you?"

Not bothering to answer her, Eloise Thompson got up and, looking flustered, headed for the supervisor's office.

...

"You're taking a leave of absence?"

The supervisor's brow furrowed as soon as she heard she had to take time off.

Eloise Thompson nodded, "Well, I'm not feeling well and would like to take time off to go back to rest."

"I'm not feeling well." The supervisor showed a difficult expression, "If it were any other day, I would have agreed to let you go back to rest, but today is a special situation."

"Is it something about working with the Rogers Group?" Eloise Thompson asked tentatively.

"That's right." The supervisor nodded, "The cooperation with Rogers Group this time is of particular importance to our superiors and they want our department to follow up the whole process, that is, the development of the City E site." "This case is the first one you've been in charge of since you joined the company, and you'll have to be there for the meeting when it comes."

The implication is that she cannot take this leave.

To be more precise, she will meet Hector Rogers directly.

She doesn't want it.

"Supervisor, I'm really not feeling well, you should let someone else go." Eloise Thompson tried to persuade the supervisor.

But the supervisor's attitude was very firm, "No, even if you are not feeling well, you still hold on to me, when the cooperation is completed, I will give you a day off to rest." "Supervisor ..."

Eloise Thompson was about to say something else when the supervisor reached out and put his hands on her shoulders and said in a serious tone, "Eloise, it will be good for you in the future if this partnership is negotiated, and I hope you won't blame me for being insensitive."

With her having said that, Eloise Thompson couldn't insist on taking time off, so she could only nod, "Okay, I understand."

Half an hour later, Eloise Thompson followed her supervisor into the conference room.

Hector Rogers has not yet arrived.

Everyone is excited about this collaboration with Rogers Group and everyone can't hide their joy, except for Eloise Thompson. She kept her head down from the moment she entered until she sat down.

After an unknown amount of time, someone suddenly shouted, "Mr Hector is here."

The meeting room was instantly silent as everyone stretched their necks to look out. Is it coming?

Eloise Thompson's hands resting on her lap clenched uneasily.

Just as everyone was looking forward to it, several people walked in, the company executives, except for Hector Rogers. "What's going on here?"

"Didn't I say it was coming?"

There was a lot of bewildered chatter.

"Mr Hector was unable to come at the moment, he will send someone else for this collaboration."

Everyone was disappointed to hear this.

Amidst a chorus of disappointment, Eloise Thompson was secretly relieved not to be there.

Something that should be celebrated, but why was she a little lost?

On the other hand, Hector Rogers was on his way to the airport.

"Rupert, how's it going? Any luck replaceing anyone?" Hector Rogers spoke on the phone with a serious expression.

"Nope. There's no Solomon anywhere in the house."

Rupert Rogers on the other side of the phone sounded anxious.

"Look again, a small child can't be too far away."

"Good. I'll send more men out to replace them."

Hanging up the phone, Hector Rogers turned his head to look out the window.

He came to City S to negotiate the development of the City E site, but as soon as he arrived at the other company, he received a call saying that Solomon was missing. It said it was going to Mummy.

Now that Eloise is nowhere to be found, Solomon can't afford to have another incident.

...

Since nearly exposing herself to Hector Rogers last time, Reeva Lawson hadn't gone back to him, fearing that she might reveal something if she wasn't careful.

This time, instead of going straight to Hector Rogers, she went to the Rogers family to replace Hector's mother.

I heard that Hector's mother had gone to a lot of trouble these days to set up her eldest son with Synnove Fare.

All failed though.

But it left Reeva Lawson with a bad taste in her mouth.

Hector's mother clearly said that she was the most suitable for Hector Rogers and for being the Rogers family's daughter-in-law, but why did she have to set up Hector Rogers and Synnove Fare? Did they just think she was easy to fool and play her?

This time, she had to ask for clarification in person.

Reeva Lawson's to the Rogers family when Synnove Fare was also present.

As soon as they met, the two women greeted each other politely but secretly looked at each other unfavourably because they both knew exactly what was on the other's mind.

It was Hector's mother who was a little embarrassed as she asked with a dry smile, "Reeva, how did you replace the time to come?"

Reeva Lawson smiled, "I'm done with the company and thought I'd say it's been a long time since I've visited my aunt and uncle, so I came over."

"So." Hectorâ€TMs mother forced a smile, her eyes sweeping uncomfortably aside to Synnove Fare.

Reeva Lawson saw it and said graciously, "I didn't expect Miss Synnove to be there."

"She's here to see me, too. Sit down quickly."

Reeva Lawson sat down as she was told, a light smile on her delicately made up face.

The atmosphere was a little awkward and no one took the initiative to speak up.

Halfway through the day, Synnove Fare stood up and said, "Auntie, I'll go back first. I'll come back to see you some other time."

"Gotta get back." Hector's mother stood up too.

Synnove Fare said "hmmm".

Hector's mother didn't leave her, "Then you take care on your way."

It was only when Synnove Fare had gone that Reeva Lawson spoke up and said, "Auntie, you seem to like Miss Synnove a lot."

"Is that so?" Hector's mother smiled, "I like you a lot too."

"I've heard that you've been getting Miss Synnove and Hector together recently Auntie, is that true?"

"Huh?" Hectorâ€TMs mother was embarrassed and for a moment didnâ€TMt know how to respond.

Previously, she did think Reeva Lawson was excellent and a good fit for Hector, but the events that happened some time ago have given her a better understanding of her. With her impulsive and reckless nature, she is not a good fit for Hector.

That's why she turned to Synnove Fare.

"Auntie, why don't you say something?"

At the sound of her voice, Hector's mother looked back at Reeva Lawson's light smile and inexplicably felt a chill run down her back.

She hurriedly put on a smile and said, "I just want Hector to get to know a few more people before I know who's best for him."

"So that's how it is." Reeva Lawson looked like she had come to her senses.

Then she sighed in mock helplessness, "I thought my aunt would support me."
