Love Comes To Me
Chapter 289: Reeva's mother comes to the door

"Dad, I'm your daughter, how can you say that about me?!"

Reeva's father's words angered Reeva Lawson and she roared in anger before running upstairs.

"Look what you've spoiled your daughter into."

Reeva's father shouted at Reeva's mother in anger, pointing in the direction of Reeva Lawson going upstairs.

"What's wrong with me?" Reeva's mother was furious too, "You're the one who's wrong, you know Reeva likes Hector Rogers and you say things like that, aren't you trying to throw cold water on Reeva?" "You have to give up even if you like it."

Reeva's father sat down on the couch and continued, "You think we Lawson family are a match for the Rogers family? If we upset Hector Rogers one day, our Lawson family will be finished, you know?" Reeva's mother didn't think it would be that serious, "With our Lawson family and Rogers family connections, Hector wouldn't dare do anything."

"And you don't dare?" Reeva's father gasped, "Just before Reeva pushed someone Miss Eloise off a mountain, what did Hector do to our Lawson family? Have you forgotten?"

It was only when he said this that Reeva's mother remembered that there was such a thing.

At once, he also realised that there was more going on than he had thought.

She thought for a moment and said, "Why don't I go and persuade Reeva?"

"Can you persuade?"

He was right to ask, could she be persuaded?

Reeva's mother was in a difficult position, having to choose between her daughter and the Lawson family.

She took a deep breath, "No, I'm going to go to Matriarch Godbold and demand an accounting."

"Are you crazy?" Reeva's father stared at her incredulously, "What did you go to her for, isn't it obvious what the Rogers family did? You had to go and make a fool of yourself?" "What else could I do? It's not like I can persuade Reeva, I'll just have to do it cheekily!"

Reeva's mother snorted at him in exasperation and then went to the Rogers family despite his objections.

...

"Kendra, take care of Miss Eloise while she's living at home, okay?"

Hector's mother put Eloise Thompson up in a guest room on the first floor, then turned to the family aunt and instructed her.

Kendra nodded, "Ma'am, I know."

Then Hector's mother smiled and said to Eloise Thompson, "Miss Eloise, just make yourself at home and let Kendra know if you want anything to eat or drink, and don't be too formal, just be casual." Eloise Thompson smiled coyly, "Thank you Aunty."

"Then you rest well."

"Hey."

Watching Hector's mother and Kendra go downstairs before Eloise Thompson closes the door behind her.

She leaned against the door, looked around the room and let out a long, helpless sigh.

Inexplicably, she had taken up residence with the Rogers family, and she still hadn't gotten over it.

She slowly walked over to the bed and sat down, cradling her pillow in her arms, looking at the unfamiliar surroundings and feeling all sorts of uncomfortable thinking that she would have to face Hector's parents every day from now on. No! She sat up straight, with an unusually determined look.

It must be made clear to Hector Rogers that she does not want to live here.

Finding her phone, she sent a message to Hector Rogers.

...

"I don't want to live in your house."

Hector Rogers stared at the words on the screen, his good-looking sword brows furrowed.

"President?" Thomas Ward called out cautiously when he saw him staring at his phone.

At the sound of his voice, Hector Rogers lifted his eyes gently and looked at him with a cool gaze.

Thomas Ward shuddered inwardly; he wasn't interrupting anything, was he?

He hurriedly put the document in his hand on the table, "This is the development plan for the land in City S. Please read it."

"Leave it for now." Hector Rogers said faintly, and returned his attention to his phone.

Thomas Ward couldn't help but wonder what was on the phone that made the president look so hard.

So where do you want to stay? Your friend's house, Egbert Chumley?

Hector Rogers returned the message and then threw his phone on the table, only to replace that Thomas Ward hadn't gone out yet, but didn't say anything, just looked at him wordlessly. Under his sullen gaze, Thomas Ward rubbed his hands together, an ingratiating smile piled on his face, "I'm out, President."

With those words, he hurriedly turned around and trotted out in three steps.

Hector Rogers withdrew his eyes and dropped to his phone, his eyes narrowing slightly as he tried to see how she would respond.

Eloise Thompson received the reply and was only baffled.

What's it to do with Egbert Chumley?

Did he think Egbert Chumley was the only friend she had?

She took a deep breath and quickly typed a line on her phone.

Don't you still have your place to stay?

Hector Rogers looked at the words on his phone and the corners of his mouth curled up slowly, counting on her to know what she was doing. Stay for now, I'm busy with work these days and may not have time to look after you.

Eloise Thompson tossed her phone over the edge, bent her knees and rested her head on them with a helpless sigh.

It's not like she needs to be looked after.

Was she afraid that she would have no one to take care of her, or that she would once again leave without saying goodbye?

She suddenly found herself unable to really read his mind.

Scratching his hair in annoyance.

Forget it, forget it.

Let's settle for what's here.

...

"Kendra, Miss Eloise is still injured, try to eat a lighter diet and get more fruit for her."

Hector's mother was still explaining to Kendra when the housekeeper came rushing in.

"Madam, Mrs Jetta is here."

Hector's mother frowned, "What's she doing here?"

"I don't know. She looks like she's angry though."

It's not about Eloise Thompson, is it?

Hector's mother thought for a moment and then said; "Ask her to come in."

Reeva's mother came in furiously and as soon as she saw Hector's mother, chopped off her head and asked, "Matriarch, what do you mean?"

Hector's mother looked at her with amusement, "Are you here to raise hell today?"

"I wouldn't dare to raise an accusation. I've just come to ask for an explanation." Reeva's mother sat down with a huff, took a deep breath and continued, "I heard you let that Eloise Thompson live in, is that true?" "Yeah, what's wrong?"

"How can you let her live in here? Don't you dislike her?" Reevaâ€TMs mother looked at her with some perplexity.

Hector's mother laughed, "This is my house, do I need your permission to let anyone live in it?"

Reeva's mother choked, then realised she had been too impulsive and hastily remedied the situation by saying, "I was just wondering. Haven't you always disliked her?"

"I do not like it." Hector's mother nodded matter-of-factly, "But she saved my grandson."

"Even so, you shouldn't have let her stay in. What if this is in case she thinks you approve of her?"

"She wouldn't dare think that."

She was so sure of her expectations that Reeva's mother couldn't help but laugh, "How do you know she wouldn't dare?"

Not wanting to dwell on this with her, Hector's mother changed the subject and asked, "What exactly is it that you came to see me about?"

At this turn of phrase, Reeva's mother was a little unprepared and froze for a moment before she said, "It's about Reeva and Hector. You said that our Reeva was the best choice for your daughter-in-law, haven't you forgotten?" Hector's mother's brow twitched, "Didn't forget."

Only that was before.

Of course she couldn't have said this in front of Reeva's mother.
