Love Comes To Me
Chapter 317: Confronting the suspect

Before Robbie could say anything, Agnes shouted, "Robbie, are you crazy? I can't believe you want me to confront a suspect!" "Agnes, this is the only way you can prove your innocence."

Robbie tried to persuade her, but she cut her off straight away, "I don't want to! If I go to a confrontation here, isn't that like admitting that I did it?" "Agnes, I'm sure it's not you. Let's go together, shall we?" Robbie urged in a nice voice.

"Agnes doesn't want to go, we can bring the suspect in."

It was Eloise who opened her mouth, looking steadily at Agnes with a little coldness in her brow.

At her words, Agnes' face changed and she glared at her with hatred, "Eloise, don't think you can condemn me like that."

Eloise raised an eyebrow and said faintly, "Are you not going, are you being faint-hearted? Are you afraid that things won't pan out by then?"

"I'm not!" Will Agnes got excited.

"Go on then."

"I ..." Agnes looked at Eloise's smirking expression and instantly calmed down, "Yeah, Eloise, are you trying to provoke me?"

Eloise did not make a sound.

Agnes looked at the rest of the room and nodded, "Okay, I'll go. I'll see how you're going to compensate me for the emotional damage when I see that I didn't do it." Following that, she told the two officers, "I agree to confront the suspect face-to-face."

Looking at her with such confidence, Eloise turned her head to look at Hector with some concern in her expression.

Hector squeezed her palm and gestured for her to stop thinking so much.

Whatever the exact outcome, Agnes must have had a hand in this one.

...

When she reached the door of Lynn's ward, Agnes suddenly stood still, her head bowed and her hands clasped together, wondering what she was thinking. "Agnes," Robbie called out tentatively.

At the sound of the voice, Agnes turned her head to Eloise and asked, "If it wasn't me, you must apologise to me, in a way that satisfies me."

Eloise couldn't help but laugh, "Agnes, where do you get the confidence to think it's not you?"

"Just not me." Agnes tilted her chin up, very confident.

Eloise's brow twitched slightly, a little unsure of herself, but said, "Well, even if you didn't direct it yourself, you were involved in it, right?"

As soon as she said this, it was obvious that she saw a flash of panic on Agnes' face.

"Anti... not me anyway." Agnes was visibly distraught.

Eloise and Hector exchanged a look, knowing something in each other's minds.

Lynn was a complete stranger when he saw Agnes and he turned his head to ask the police officer, "Who is she? What did you bring her in for?" "She is Agnes, the accomplice you confessed to."

Lynn frowned, "Agnes? No, the Agnes I know doesn't look like that?"

Although she was prepared, Eloise's heart hit rock bottom when she heard Lynn say in person that it wasn't Agnes.

If not Agnes, then who could it be?

After repeated confirmation by the police, it was established that the Agnes Lynn spoke of was not Agnes, and that many points in time were incorrect. With that, Agnes was ruled out of the picture.

When she emerged from the ward, Agnes returned to her usual arrogant smugness and said to Eloise in a sly voice, "You're disappointed, aren't you? It's a shame, it's not that easy to set me up." Eloise clenched her palms and stared at her coldly, saying in one particularly clear word, "Don't be too happy before it's too late to cry."

With that, she pulled Hector away.

A reluctant Agnes screamed after her, "Eloise, you deserved to have your baby aborted, that's what you get! Retribution, you know? My child is unjustly coming after you for revenge!" Agnes was laughing as loud as if she had gone mad.

Eloise was on her feet, looking as gloomy as ink.

And Hector, who had to be beside her, blushed at Agnes' words and turned his head quickly to look at her... did she already know about the miscarriage?

"Eloise you're a bitch, before or now, you can't have your own children, it's so sad and pathetic!"

The words irritated Eloise's nerves and she suddenly turned, striding up to Agnes, her gaze sullen as she stared at her, "Finished?"

Agnes was shocked by the coldness emanating from her, but quickly reacted and opened her mouth to say, "No, it's not finished. You ..." "Snap!"

The sound of a crisp, loud slap echoed down the corridor.

The slap took almost all of Eloise's strength and her fingertips were tingling.

Agnes was staggered by the blow for a few steps before she could stand.

"I'll fight you!"

Agnes couldn't care less about the pain and lunged with her teeth and claws. Eloise stood motionless.

Hector, who had come up behind her, saw this and hastily reached out to pull her behind him, raising his hand to block Agnes' slapping hand.

"Let go of me!" Agnes jerked her hand back hard, then yelled at him regardless, "Hector, I think you're just blind to choose such an unashamed bitch."

"Five years ago, she chose surrogacy for money and slept with a strange man, just that kind of woman, you still treat her as a treasure, you are really blind!"

Robbie was so shocked to hear this that he hastily covered her mouth and apologised to Hector despite her struggles, "Mr Hector, she's just mad, don't take it personally, you know what Eloise is like, don't you?" Hector blackened his face, those dark, ink-like eyes flashing with anger at the moment, "I don't hit women, but if I ever hear you talk about Eloise like that again, I will make your life a living hell."

His voice was like the frost of a cold winter month, cold to the bone.

Robbie stifled a shiver, then said, with another harrumph and a nod, "I'll talk her up."

"Hector, let's go."

Eloise looked calm and didn't seem hurt by Agnes' words.

But Hector knew that the calmer she was, the worse things were.

He took her hand, interlocked his fingers and whispered, "Don't think about it."

Eloise curled her lips slightly and said nothing, pulling away.

Only when they were far away did Robbie let go of Agnes.

"Robbie, how dare you help an outsider bully me!" Agnes yelled at him furiously, her chest heaving violently from so much anger.

Robbie's face sank and he said sternly, "Have you had enough of this? Do you want to drag the Blue family and the Thompson family down with you to make your heart happy?"

"Do you have any idea what you've just done again? Once you piss off Hector, it's not going to be easy for either the Blue family or the Thompson family when the time comes." Robbie took a deep breath and looked at her with disappointment, "Agnes, you disappoint me so much."

With that, he turned and strutted away, leaving Agnes standing alone.
