Love Comes To Me
Chapter 322: Turning the other cheek

Reeva was already on the plane, so the phone was out of order.

Hector, who got the news, was not at all surprised.

"Any idea where she's headed?" Hector asked. "Scotland."

Hector's fingers tapped on the table, looking thoughtful for a long time before he spoke slowly, "Check the exit records, she may not have gone to Scotland." Thomas nodded, "Okay, I'll check on that."

When Thomas leaves, Hector gets up and walks to the floor-to-ceiling window, overlooking half of City J. His eyes are cold and dark.

Given Reeva's cautious personality, it is certainly unlikely that she would have gone to Scotland, but another country, or pressed on out of the country at all. Scotland, just her blindfold.

Did she think that if she could escape for a time, she could escape for a lifetime?

A cold smile curled his lips; there was no way he was going to let her off the hook just like that.

The next day, the Lawson Group's shares suddenly plummeted and the banks began to call in their loans, leaving the Lawson Group in an instant cash shortage crisis. Even a few big projects have been halted.

"What is this all about? Did the bank ask for clarification?" Reeva's father yelled at the person on the other end of the phone in a burst of rage.

Reeva's mother looked at him worriedly, fearing that if he got excited and his blood pressure shot up, the consequences would be unthinkable.

But how can you not be anxious when something like this suddenly happens in one night?

"What?" Not knowing what the other man had said, Reeva's father's voice rose an octave, "Is that really what the bank said?"

Reeva's father hung up the phone and cursed angrily, "That's so unlikeable, so unlikeable!"

"What's wrong?" Reeva's mother asked hurriedly.

"Do you know why this has suddenly happened to the company?" Reevaâ€TMs father asked.

"Why?"

"It's because that brat Hector went so far as to say to the banks not to lend to Lawson Group or Rogers Group would terminate its relationship with the various banks." "Bullying is too much! Too much bullying!"

Reeva's father was shaking with anger and his chest was heaving violently.

Reeva's mother was terrified when she saw him like this, so she went up to him and patted him on the back to calm him down, saying, "Calm down, is it possible that someone down there has made a mistake, and how could Hector have attacked the Lawson Group?"

"It's not your precious daughter!" Reevaâ€TMs father turned his head and snarled at her.

Reeva's mother froze, then reacted and complained accusingly, "If you're angry, why are you angry at me?"

"It's because of Reeva that the Lawson Group is going down the drain!"

The more Reeva's father thought about it, the more he felt that he could not just sit there and wait for it to happen, he had to go to Hector and ask him about it. "What's wrong with Reeva again?"

Reeva's mother had no idea what was going on, but Reeva's father ignored her and walked straight out the door.

"Where are you going?" Reeva's mother rushed after her.

"Go get Hector."

Reeva's mother took a step when she heard this, but immediately went after her again, "I'll go with you."

...

The fact that Reeva's parents came to the door was to be expected by Hector.

"Auntie and uncle, please sit down."

When the assistant led them in, Hector was as polite as ever.

"Humph!" Reeva's father grunted heavily and huffed as he walked over to sit down.

"Hector, don't mind me, your uncle is angry." Reeva's mother, who was following behind, explained to Hector.

"It's fine."

Hector responded indifferently, then walked over and sat across from Reeva's father, saying directly to the point, "Uncle came to see me about the company, right?"

At these words, Reeva's father stood up and said angrily, "You already figured I'd come looking for you, didn't you?" Hector, you've really let your uncle down this time." Hector looked at him calmly, "Uncle, don't you understand why the Lawson Group is where it is today?"

Reeva's father was speechless.

Because he knew in his heart that his daughter was at fault and he could not blame people for being ruthless.

It was Reeva's mother who spoke up, "Hector, our families have been close for so many years, you can't do this to us if it's a big deal, can you?"

Hector pondered for a moment before speaking deliberately, "Auntie, do you know what your daughter has done?"

"What?"

"She instructed someone to rape ~ Eloise, and although it didn't work, Eloise fell down the stairs. Eloise was over a month pregnant at the time and that was it." Hector calmly stated what Reeva had done, and Reeva's father Reeva's mother listened in horror, both of them looking blue and white for a very long time, unable to speak.

"I can get the bank to continue lending to Lawson Group, but Reeva must come back and turn himself in."

In the end, Hector didn't do anything wrong and left an option open for the Lawson family.

Reeva's father closed his eyes, his brow furrowed, his mind in a battle between his baby girl on the one hand and his life's work on the other.

It would have been extremely painful for Reeva's father to give up either side.

"Hector, Reeva and you grew up together, we've been together for so many years, just spare her this once, spare the Lawson family, okay?" Reeva's mother pleaded with teary eyes. She tries to play the emotion card to soften Hector's heart.

But Hector was unmoved, "Auntie, you should say that to Reeva, if she's concerned about the Rogers family, the Lawson family, she shouldn't be doing this!"

Reeva is hurting the woman he holds close to his heart.

"Hector, Reeva also did what she did because she loves you so much. Just let her go for the sake of her using her love for you so deeply."

Like he had heard some kind of joke, Hector couldn't help but laugh out loud, looking at Reeva's mother with mockery in his eyes, "Auntie, that's no reason for her to hurt people." "Hector ..."

Reeva's mother was about to say something else when Reeva's father bellowed, "That's enough, don't say anything."

Then he looked to Hector, "I'll persuade Reeva to come back and turn herself in, but you'll also have to make good on what you said."

"I'll do what I say."

"Good, then you wait for my message."

Reeva's father got up and was leaving.

Reeva's mother got anxious and yelled at the top of her lungs, "How can you promise him that? Do you really want Reeva to go to jail?!"

"Or what?" Reeva's father took a deep breath, suppressing the anger that was churning in his heart, and asked her rhetorically, "Should we trade the entire Lawson Group for her?"

"That's your daughter! Isn't she more important than the Lawson Group?" Reevaâ€TMs mother looked at him as if she were looking at a stranger.

Reeva's father closed his eyes in pain, "She made a mistake, she's an adult, she should take responsibility for what she's done."

"No, I won't allow you to do that." Reeva's mother turned her head to look at Hector, "Hector, since you disregarded the relationship between the two families, don't blame me for turning the other cheek." At that, Reeva's father frowned, "What do you want to do?"

"I'm going to get Matriar."

Reeva's mother was the first to leave in a huff.

Reeva's father could only rush after her, fearing that she might accidentally say the wrong thing and cause things to get worse.

Watching them leave with cold eyes, Hector then called Thomas in.

"What can I do for you, President?"

"Keep an eye on the Lawson family and let me know as soon as you hear anything from Reeva."

"Good."
