Love Comes To Me
Chapter 323: Something doesn't seem right

Reeva's mother rushed straight to the Rogers family, ignoring the housekeeper and storming in, yelling, "Matriar, where are you?"

There was a complete lack of the usual modesty and elegance.

Hector's mother is in the kitchen preparing food for the two hospitalised children when she suddenly hears yelling from outside and frowns with displeasure in her expression. Who is it? Do you think the Rogers family is a vegetable market?

She handed the dish in her hand to the maid and walked out.

Hector's mother's eyes flashed with surprise when she saw it was Reeva's mother, and then, looking at her anxious look, she asked with concern, "Did something happen?" "Matriar," Reeva's mother pushed past the blocking housekeeper and rushed to her, taking her hands in hers, "Matriar, you must save the Lawson family, save Reeva." At the sound of Reeva's name, Hector's mother's brow twitched slightly and she drew back her hand without a trace.

"Why do you want to save the Lawson family and Reeva?"

Hector's mother turned towards the living room, so Reeva's mother didn't notice that her expression had gone cold for a moment.

Even the tone of voice turned cold..

"Hector told all the banks not to lend to Lawson Group and even let it slip that if anyone dared to work with Lawson Group, they were working against Rogers Group." Reeva's mother followed in her footsteps, "He's pushing the Lawson Group to the brink!"

Hector's mother sat down, looked up, and calmly asked, "And do you know the reason why he did it?"

"I ..." Reevaâ€TMs mother was speechless for a moment.

Hector's mother smiled, but the smile didn't reach her eyes, and said coldly, "I grew up watching this Reeva child and thought she would be a gentle, sensible girl." "They say that with high expectations come high disappointment. reeva really let me down."

As she said this, Hector's mother's tone was full of disappointment.

As she said, Reeva had grown up under her watch, but recent events had made her feel as if she had never known Reeva.

It was that vicious.

Just the thought of Rupert's injuries and the unrelated grandson made Hector's mother feel nothing but disgust and anger towards Reeva.

Even she said that and Reeva's mother's eyes got red with anxiety, "Matriar, you know Reeva, when she was little she wouldn't dare to trample an ant to death, she's not bad." "Not bad?" Hector's mother frowned, "What about this one? Did we wrong her?"

"This time it was a mistake she made in a moment of confusion, and I hope you will give her a chance."

Looking at Reeva's mother with tears in her eyes, Hector's mother also felt bad and softened, "Don't cry yet. It's not like it's irrevocable."

At these words, Reeva's mother's eyes lit up and she asked, not quite sure, "Matriar, you're willing to help me?"

Hector's mother frowned and sighed with embarrassment, "I will persuade Hector for the sake of all the years of friendship, but don't get your hopes up, you know Hector's personality."

"As long as you're willing to help me." Reeva's mother wiped her tears and continued, "I apologise to you, to Rupert and to Miss Eloise on Reeva's behalf for this time."

"I'm really sorry." Reevaâ€TMs mother bent down in a sincere manner.

Hector's mother sighed, "It's not you who should apologise, it's Reeva, and when she gets back home, you'll have her apologise to Eloise and Rupert personally." "Definitely definitely." Reeva's mother nodded busily.

I would apologise a hundred times if it meant saving my daughter and the Lawson Group.

...

As Hector's mother said to Reeva's mother, Hector was not a nice person to talk to.

So when she offered to spare the Lawson Group, Hector immediately refused.

"As long as Reeva doesn't come back, Lawson Group will only have the option of filing for bankruptcy."

Hector said this without a trace of emotion and with a particular cold-bloodedness.

Even Hector's mother was a bit shocked, she knew her son's temperament, as long as he wanted to do something, no one could persuade him.

So she didn't continue to persuade him, she just sighed and said in a serious tone, "This is not a feudal society, there is no such thing as one person making a mistake and the whole family being implicated. Think about it yourself." Hector was amused by her words, "Mom, what are you talking about?"

"Isn't it? It was Reeva who made the mistake, not the Lawson family."

"Mum, I've got my own agenda."

Hector's mother nodded, "OK. I'll leave it at that, I've got to go to the hospital to see Rupert. That's all."

As he watched Hector's mother leave, Hector's expression slowly sank, his eyes as deep as a pond, and it was impossible to see what was going on in his mind.

...

Rupert's stay in the hospital was not at all self-conscious as a patient, resting well, but instead teasing a nurse when one came.

"Beauty, you are so pretty, you should actually be an entertainer, being a nurse buries your face too much."

"As pretty as you are already, with a little more make-up, you're sure to look stunning."

Eloise had only just reached the door when she heard Rupert mocking the nurse and she almost rolled her eyes.

This guy, even in hospital, is restless.

She walked in and saw a tall nurse changing Rupert's medication.

"The medicine is changed."

The nurse didn't take his words at all and even sounded a little cold.

"Hey, I mean it, you can definitely make it big if you want to."

At this point Hector was acting like a pyramid scheme leader, urging people to join the scheme.

"It's not necessary."

The nurse picked up the tray and turned, froze at the sight of Eloise, but quickly responded with a slight nod of her head. Eloise returned a smile.

Only she lowered her head and hurried out.

Eloise looked back at her fleeing figure and couldn't help but tease, "Rupert, she's scared off by you."

Rupert's head was full of black lines, "Sister-in-law, what do you mean, scared off by me? She's clearly just shy!"

"Shy?" Eloise frowned slightly, "Which one of you saw her being shy?"

"Both eyes saw it."

"You..." Eloise subconsciously tried to retort to him, but the words came to her lips before she realised there was no point in pulling this with him. Then the conversation turned and said, "You are a patient now, please take care of your rest and tease the other nurses less."

Rupert raised an eyebrow and grumbled, "It's too boring to lie around like this every day without doing something."

"Why don't I ask your brother to bring you some company papers to read?" Eloise suggested.

Rupert was instantly aggrieved, "Sister-in-law, you're too hard-hearted, aren't you? I'm like this and you still want me to work." "And you know you don't flirt with girls when you're like this." Eloise glared at him without mercy.

Rupert was stunned, then reacted with a big smile, "Yes, whatever sister-in-law says."

Looking at his overly bright smile, Eloise felt like something was wrong, but couldn't figure it out.

In the end, she didn't think too deeply about it and just assumed she was overthinking it.
