Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 400: You're not welcome here
Eloise just couldn't believe the news and froze straight in place.
At her frozen look, Hector couldn't help but laugh as he looked at the doctor and asked, "What is the patient's hope of waking up, please?"
The doctor looked over Maryam's case and said, "The mass in the patient's brain is now much smaller, so the chances of her waking up are probably more than 50 percent." Eloise was shocked and delighted at that.
That meant that her mother could wake up again, and she asked impatiently, "And how is my mother doing?"
The doctor pushed the eye sockets on the bridge of her nose and said, "Actually, it is thanks to Mr Hector that the patient has recovered so quickly this time.
Some time ago, Mr Hector sent back a batch of advanced medical equipment from abroad, which was extremely effective in treating the patient's affected areas.
The patient's condition has been improving, but we are a bit late in informing you, after all, we need to be more than 50 per cent sure before we dare to tell you about it." After hearing the doctor's words, Eloise was touched, she didn't expect Hector to help her silently, her mother's illness had always been a knot in her heart.
If her mother could really wake up this time, it would be a great joy for her.
She could not help but sigh that she had saved the galaxy in her last life to meet a man like Hector.
She couldn't help the crystalline liquid running down the corner of her eyes, and Eloise smiled as she wiped it away and whispered, "Thank you, Hector."
Seeing the tears in the corner of Eloise's eyes, Hector joked, "You're my wife, what's all this talk about thanks, your mother is my mother, that said, I still don't know if my mother-in-law will wake up and not like me as a son-in-law." Amused by his words, Eloise clutched Hector's hand and said seriously, "Don't worry, my mother will like you, for sure."
"If you two have nothing else to do, I'll go and get busy, you can go in and talk to the patient, she should be conscious now."
The doctor left the word and left.
Through the door and window of the ward, Eloise could see the nurse scrubbing her mother's body and waited until she came out before Eloise walked in with Hector.
Eloise was moved by the sight of her mother's cheeks, now that Maryam's face was no longer that sickly pallor, but instead had all the flush of a normal person, as if an ordinary person had fallen asleep.
Sitting in front of Maryam's bed, Eloise couldn't help but speak, "You know, Mum, the doctor said you could wake up, it's about time you woke up after sleeping for so long, I missed you so much." In front of Maryam, Eloise had always been weak and unbearable.
She hadn't even flinched in the face of the Thompson family, but now that she was looking at her mother with all these instruments, Eloise was terrified and wished she was the one lying here, suffering for her. "Eloise, don't worry, Auntie will wake up." Hector stepped aside and put his arms around her.
Wiping the tears from her face, Eloise pulled Hector towards her and said to Maryam, "Mum, weren't you thinking about the kind of man I would replace?
The man standing in front of you now is the man I will give my life to, he knows everything about me, including my past.
I had felt crippled, but his love has given me renewed hope, he's been so good to me, and when you wake up, you'll love him too."
At the mention of her past, Eloise couldn't help but bow her head, in fact it was only now that she had emerged from the shadow of her low self-esteem, thanks to Hector's constant and unfailing care for her. At this Hector kissed Eloise on the cheek and said with a smile, "Eloise, you are not broken, in my case you are perfect."
He paused, then took Maryam's hand in his and said with unmistakable seriousness, "Auntie, first of all I want to thank you for giving birth to Eloise, she was the one who gave colour to a life that I felt was dim. The original me was soulless, she taught me what love is and how to love. When you wake up, I want you to be a witness to our love, and if I ever fail Eloise, let me ..."
The words of the vow were barely out of his mouth when they were blocked by a small pair of hands.
Hector turned around to see Eloise's small, tear-stained face and shook his head to tell him not to go on.
The two smiled at each other and Hector wiped away her tears.
At this moment, Maryam also had crystalline fluid running down the corners of her eyes, but Eloise didn't see it.
Eloise talked to Maryam for a few more minutes before leaving the room.
As soon as she opened the door to the ward, she saw a face that he hated.
Only Josh was standing outside the door, looking at Eloise somewhat unsure of what to do.
Eloise's face sank a little at the sight of Josh, who hadn't been seen for months, and what did he want now that he was here?
"Did you come here to try and hurt my mum again? You're not going to leave my mother alone after what she's been through? I'm telling you Josh, you're not welcome here." Eloise said with hostility. Since Agnes and Ela had disclosed that she had had a baby, Eloise had been completely removed from the Thompson family, and when she saw Josh again, she was not going to give him a good look. Josh knows that Eloise hates him, but he is in a difficult situation and has to come to Eloise for help.
He knew through his contacts at the hospital that Eloise and Hector were coming over today, which is why he was waiting outside the door.
"I heard your mum was getting a bit better so I was planning to come over and have a look." Josh said in a rushed voice.
But that was an excuse even he didn't believe, let alone Eloise.
"Oh, don't be so pretentious here, are you not hurting my mother enough? As long as you don't come, it's the best blessing for my mother.
Besides, does your good wife Ela know you're here? I said you're not welcome here, and if you don't leave, I'll call security to come and kick you out."
Josh didn't expect Eloise's hatred for him to be half as bad after not seeing him for so long, but knew that he had brought this on himself.
He sighed and said, "Eloise, you're my daughter at least, it's not good for us to be at war like this, the Thompson family's doors are always open to you if you want them to be."
Eloise smiled as if she had heard a big joke, she looked at Josh with a sneer and said coldly, "This gentleman, please get your bearings and don't just admit your relatives."
