Chapter 417: Will you live through the day

Eloise went to the nearby supermarket to buy a fruit basket and walked into the hospital, heading straight for Rupert's ward.

Rupert, still unfaithful from his injury and hospitalisation, raised his eyebrows when he saw Eloise enter, "Is it only my sister-in-law who has come to see me, my brother isn't going to be on the loose, is he?" Ever since he had been injured and hospitalised, every morning when he woke up and opened his eyes, all he could see was the white ceiling of the hospital. Then in one, dry stare for the rest of the day. The only slight consolation was that he could see Aisly every day he was here.

But people are nurses and have their own jobs, they can't be with him all day and night. All in all, he wasn't afraid of getting hurt, what he couldn't stand was the boring life of the hospital. Upon hearing his words, Eloise cried out a little, "If your brother heard that, he'd probably beat you up again."

He rolled his eyes in mock disgust and asked curiously, "Sister-in-law, how on earth did you fall for my brother? He's so cold and uninteresting after all."

Rupert, for all the bad things he said about his brother, had blessed her marriage to Hector, for example, the island villa he had prepared for them earlier, with real heart.

"Well, no comment on that, if you don't be honest, do you believe I'll tell your brother?" Eloise joked with a smile.

While replaceing a chair to sit down on the edge of the bed and peel an apple for him.

"Hum..." Rupert turned his head.

"I asked the doctor today, you're recovering well from your injuries, I guess you'll be out of the hospital in a while."

Rupert held the apple that Eloise had cut into chunks in his hand and bit into it as a matter of course, "I know, I've been pushing my primary care doctor every day to hurry up."

Eloise shook her head in disbelief, she had already heard that Rupert's primary care doctor had been changed one after another because Mr Hector didn't like the speed of his treatment. She chilled out with Rupert for a while longer and saw that it was getting dark outside before she got up to leave. Leaving the ward, she was in the corridor when she heard a group of people around the lift door making a fuss.

"You guys! You guys! You've given me back my unborn child! You quacks, you just know how to cheat, you give back my child!"

A middle-aged woman with a kitchen knife was blocking the lift doorway, emotionally charged and cursing loudly, while a number of medical staff were trying to discourage her.

A doctor tried to go up to the woman to calm her down, but the woman crossed the kitchen knife in front of the two men, glaring with scarlet eyes and shouting hysterically.

"Don't come any closer! If you take one step forward I'll kill you and pay for my child's life!"

Eloise frowned; it looked like it should be another medical fracas.

But she wasn't going to go forward and get involved in the mess, no matter who was right or wrong, it was the hospital's business and it was the hospital's people who should step in to sort it out. "Calm down!"

The doctor, worried that the woman's emotions were difficult to control, hurriedly took a step back and said soothingly, "Can we talk slowly about what's going on?"

As he spoke the doctor gestured for the man beside him to go over and grab her.

"No! I want a statement now!"

But the woman held the knife directly across her chest, tears flowing down her face as she pointed at the doctor and complained, "I obviously came to your hospital for a maternity check-up. But you black-hearted doctors, you just gave me an abortion! Everyone is here, let's all judge me!"

"How can this hospital be like this?"

"Did the doctor make a mistake?"

"Even if the hospital wants a foetus, it's useless, right? It's better to secretly remove an organ and sell it for money."

The unknown crowd around them whispered.

The nurse beside the doctor saw this and frowned, whispering in the doctor's ear, "Doctor Wang, why don't we just go over and give this woman a sedative?"

The doctor was also in a difficult position, "She's just a mental patient, but with her shouting like this, do you think the people around will trust our hospital? And it's not a good influence either, look at her now, who can come to her and give her a shot?"

"What about...," the nurse frowned.

Eloise turned sideways, avoiding the crowd of onlookers and medical staff, and carefully crossed over the woman from a distance to press the lift door switch.

Just as she was about to get on the lift, she suddenly hurriedly felt her arm tighten, followed by a force yanking her to the floor.

She hit her forehead and her whole body became light-headed.

Just as she recovered, she heard a scream ringing in her ears from Aisly, "Look out!"

Eloise followed the crowd's line of sight and saw that the woman had raised the kitchen knife high at her and was slashing down hard towards her head. "Bitch! You seduced my husband and killed my child!"

"Bam-"

The stainless steel kitchen knife landed on the frosted floor tiles less than two centimetres from her forehead, while a shallow mark was left on the floor. There was a gasp from the crowd around her.

Eloise's scalp tingled as she watched, the knife would have landed directly on her head if she hadn't just been alerted by the scream and subconsciously tilted her head to look at it. "Bitch! Bitch! I'll kill you!"

The woman was in a frenzy, trying to slash at Eloise with the kitchen knife.

Eloise struggled to dodge.

The hospital staff were the first to react and rushed forward to stop her.

But the woman's frenzied slashing made it impossible for them to do anything.

The scene was a chaotic mess.

"Stop slashing! Don't chop! Help! Help!" Aisly was on the verge of tears, screaming non-stop, but not helping at all.

"Oh yes... and Rupert!"

She suddenly thought of something and turned around and made a mad dash in the direction of Rupert's ward! Rupert would surely be able to replace a way.

Aisly came panting into Rupert's ward and under her breath, told him about Eloise's sudden attack by a psychopath. Rupert's eyes widened in shock and he rushed out of bed, only to tear his wound and break into a cold sweat of pain. Damn it! Damn it! Now he was on the wrong side of an injury!

"What about the hospital people! Don't they care?"

Aisly cried, shaking her head, "We tried to help, but we couldn't even intervene."

"Bring me the phone!"

Aisly quickly handed over her phone and Rupert quickly dialed a number, "Brother, my sister-in-law is in the hospital being chopped up by a psycho with a kitchen knife, get over here!"

However around the corner of the corridor, Agnes watched the farce in the corridor, bloodthirsty malice crossing her eyes, "Heh... Eloise, I'd like to see if you can survive the day!"

Eloise struggled as hard as she could to break away from the woman, panicked, originally wanted to run down the stairs, but there were too many people coming down the stairs, she was afraid that not only could she not run down, she would also accidentally injure others, simply a brain rushed upstairs.
