Love Comes To Me
Chapter 416: Inheritance

Eloise couldn't help but be a little nervous, after all, this was the inheritance her grandfather had left her.

What should she say if she met her grandfather's old friend, or what attitude should she take to inherit the estate.

Sensing Eloise's nervousness, Hector tightened his grip on her hand.

"You don't have to think about anything, you still have me by your side." Kissing her forehead lightly, Hector knocked on the closed door of the house. "Who is it?" A deep voice came out.

"Hello, old man, I'm Hector, I've made an appointment with you before." Hector said as he settled down.

"Oh, come in."

Then the old gentleman opened the door for the pair and guided them in.

Eloise was a little uneasy at the prospect of seeing the lawyer, and had to keep her head down when the old man caught her glancing at her.

As she felt a little embarrassed, the old lawyer spoke first, "You must be Eloise."

Seeing the old lawyer speak directly, Eloise stopped being nervous and sat down opposite him, handing the lawyer the ID card in her bag. "I'm, I don't know what to call you?"

"My surname is Boardley, you can call me Grandpa Boardley, these were left to you by your grandfather and I have kept them for him for many years."

Mr Boardley said as he pulled out a box from underneath him, which was already a little dusty, so you can imagine how long it had been there. Looking at the box in front of her, Eloise opened it with a shudder. The first thing that caught her eye was a letter that read: "From Eloise".

It had been years since she had seen her grandfather's handwriting, and seeing it again, Eloise's eyes could not help but moisten.

'Eloise, I'm sure that by the time you see this, your grandfather will have passed away many years ago, this Boardley Lawyer was an old friend of mine for many years and someone I trusted.

Since he became ill, you have been the one I have been most worried about, except that he can no longer protect you and I hope that you will replace someone who will truly love you.

I hope that you will replace someone who truly loves you. I want you to marry in order to inherit this estate and to prevent the ambitions of the Thompson family from annexing it. Eloise, don't be sad, Grandpa will always protect you from heaven and watch you grow up, I hope my Eloise can live a happy life.

Extinct writing.'

Eloise's tears had not stopped since she opened the letter, not realising that it was still her grandfather who worried about her when he was seriously ill.

Knowing the importance of her grandfather in her heart, Hector was always by her side to give her warmth.

"Well, I'm sorry for your loss, and Lao Jiang doesn't want you to be sad, there's a list under the letter, so go ahead and order it and see if there's anything you can't check." Mr Boardley spoke up from the sidelines. At that, Eloise wiped the tears from her face and said, "No, Grandpa Boardley, I trust you."

With these words, the old gentleman held out the will and the change of title and asked, "By the way, if you want to inherit this estate, the only condition is that you must be married, are you married now?" "This is our marriage certificate, we became legally married a few days ago."

Hector said and handed over the marriage certificate.

The old gentleman looked at it carefully before confirming, "In that case, then, just sign it."

With that he pushed the document in front of Eloise, who signed her name without even thinking about it.

She then signed several other documents, including the transfer of shares and some changes of ownership.

"Well, you have become the owner of the estate and it will be none of my business how you wish to distribute it, now you can go and my task is done." The old gentleman got up and said. The old gentleman's eyes revealed a slight despondency as he uttered those words.

Yes, what he had guarded for many years was now finally returned to its rightful owner and he could go to his old friend.

Sensing the old gentleman's loneliness, Eloise spoke as if she had made some decision, "Grandpa Boardley, if you don't mind, I can be your granddaughter."

As far as she knew, the old gentleman seemed to be living alone in the city, with his children out of town, so he had no family around him.

But the old gentleman's reply was unexpected to her.

"It's just that, it's just that, people are old and don't want to be a burden to anyone, so you guys go."

The old gentleman finished with a wave of his hand, signalling that they could leave.

Eloise wanted to say something else, but was pulled out the door by Hector.

"Hector, what are you doing." Once out, Eloise looked at Hector with some confusion.

"Eloise, don't you see, old man he has completed your grandfather's mission and no longer wants anything to do with the Thompson family, let's just follow his old man's wishes."

She could understand Hector's words, but when she saw Grandpa Boardley's lonely, forlorn back, something didn't sit right with her.

"Come on, let's go home."

With that, Eloise and Hector got into the car together.

When they got home, Eloise was still a little uncomfortable and went to her room alone.

Hector didn't follow her, as he knew she needed to be alone now, to digest.

By the afternoon, Agnes and her daughter found out about the incident and were furious.

Agnes, in particular, was almost bleeding with gloom in her eyes.

After all, when she had gone the other day, she had been rejected outright by the old gentleman.

How could she and Eloise, both granddaughters of the Thompson family, be treated so differently? Just because Eloise was born to the rightful wife?

After all these years she had managed to get out of the low point of being an illegitimate daughter, and now she was being knocked back again. She hated it so much, she could not wait to skin Eloise right now.

Agnes couldn't help but feel that Eloise just couldn't see the good in herself, that she had to get in the middle of whatever she was doing.

The nails were already embedded in the flesh, sending a stinging sensation through them.

But the pain here still didn't offset the resentment in her heart, and she vowed to make sure Eloise died a horrible death!

"Agnes, are you alright?"

Sensing that her daughter's aura was off around her, Ela said with some concern.

"Mum, I'm a bit tired, I'm going to go and rest first."

She said and walked on, and Ela saw that she couldn't say anything.

Rogers family.

Eloise, having sorted out her grandfather's belongings, saw that it was still early and planned to visit Rupert in hospital.

When she went downstairs, she didn't see Hector, so he must have gone to the office to take care of business.

After telling the housekeeper her itinerary, Eloise headed out.

She didn't call her driver and decided to go there herself.

The sun was not so hot at this time of day, it was rush hour and there was more traffic. The sun was setting dimly in the west and the sunset was slanting down on Eloise.
