Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 419: Don't let go
When the woman saw that the two of them were still hanging on for dear life, there was a sudden flash of light in her eyes and she rushed over, waving her knife and slashing at them. Aisly and Eloise were so focused on the question of whether they would fall or not that they didn't even notice that another danger was still approaching.
Rupert's eyes widened in shock as he saw it, and despite his limp leg, he jumped a few steps and threw his cane out.
The woman's attention was on Eloise and she did not notice Rupert's action.
Rupert's cane swept across the room, hitting the woman in the back of the leg so hard that she flung herself to the ground, unprepared.
That was the move that gave Eloise and the girls the chance to catch their breath and hang on for a while longer.
At that moment, there were shouts from the ground as the hospital staff and some of the patients' families rushed out, clutching blankets and inflatable bags.
They also took it upon themselves to spread those things on the ground, fearing that the people above them would fall down.
Everyone's heart was in their throat as they watched the two people hanging from the rooftop, struggling to hold on.
Anxiously, Hector finally made it to the hospital floor.
He never expected to see Eloise hanging in mid-air as soon as he stepped out of the car, as if she was about to fall in the next minute.
He felt his blood freeze and his remaining sanity reminded him to get to the roof and save Eloise.
He made a desperate dash up the stairs and the emergency exit of the hospital was opened. The staff saw him rushing as if he was desperate and gestured for him to use the emergency exit. Hector couldn't care less, he just hoped he could get to the roof as fast as he could and get Eloise down.
He prayed inwardly that nothing would happen to her.
On the rooftop, a group of doctors and security guards rushed up to the stage, and as the crowd grew, the woman began to panic.
She stood up, clutching the knife she had in her hand, and threatened, "Don't come any closer, all of you."
She did not have any hostages in her hand, so such a threat was not taken seriously by everyone, and she continued to move forward.
Seeing that this was not working, the woman simply waved the knife around, hissing loudly, "Don't come any closer, go away, if anyone comes, I'll cut them down!"
The way she had just slashed like a madman with the knife was still on everyone's mind, and at that moment, hearing her say so, they could not help but hesitate. After all, their own lives were more important than seeing justice done.
The group of people dared not make any more rash moves, but could only watch in awe, and then, gradually, people began to move back.
In a short while, a path was made.
When the woman saw this, she was relieved that as long as she escaped, there would be no more serious problems.
She didn't dare to let up completely, and as she walked out, she kept waving her hands, fearing that some nosy person would rush over and stop her.
She was so mad that no one dared to approach, and they could only watch as she walked to the lift and pressed the downward lift button. Who would have thought that when the lift doors opened, there was Hector standing inside, all hostile, with a gloomy but anxious face. Before the woman could see Hector, she was kicked a few metres away and the knife in her hand crashed to the ground with a clang. Everyone drew in a breath of cold air, but only those who reacted quickly realised what had just happened and were in awe of Hector.
It was obvious that he had only just come up and in such a short time he had managed to react to what had happened and subdue the crazy woman as fast as he could, one couldn't help but admire him. You know, it was only a second before and after.
The woman fell to the ground in a heap, slightly confused. She rubbed her forehead and was about to curse when she suddenly realised that the knife she had been holding tightly was nowhere to be found and she panicked. Without the knife, she didn't even have the strength to scream.
As she panicked, Thomas arrived with his bodyguards, and before Hector could say anything, he swarmed over the woman and restrained her.
The woman had been arrogant for a long time, but now that she was suddenly caught, she wouldn't give in, and was screaming, "Let go of me, or I'll cut you to death."
Thomas looked at her and said coldly, "If you don't behave, I can chop you up right now."
On the other side, Rupert, without his crutches, could only walk by hopping on one foot, not to mention the fact that every step he took involved a wound on his other leg, causing him to grimace in pain.
But he had no choice but to take one step at a time, or Eloise and Aisly would not be able to hold on any longer.
Out of nowhere, he thought he heard Thomas' voice, and the shouts of the crowd.
Was it his brother coming?
Rupert was just about to glance back up when Aisly's shout of alarm came from ahead.
"Sister Eloise, pull..."
Aisly was almost running out of strength and her face turned from red to pale, but still didn't let go.
Eloise looked at her and said in a difficult tone, "Aisly, let go of me or we'll both fall."
Aisly shook her head firmly, "Sister Eloise, I won't let go of anything you say, let me let go, you might as well let me fall instead of you."
Her words touched Eloise's heart, but now was not the time to be touched, all she could do was force herself to calm down, not to move and try not to put more pressure on Aisly.
Finally, Rupert came limping over as well, and he hurriedly reached out quickly, tugging Aisly close to him.
The weight of the two women was all on him in a moment, and the pain in his leg, which had not yet healed, was even more unbearable at the moment.
Desperately holding back his pain, he yelled down, "Sister-in-law, Aisly, you mustn't let go, I'm here, my brother and the others will be here soon, so hang on."
His back was slick with cold sweat and his shirt was completely drenched.
Even a healthy man was already struggling in this situation, let alone Rupert at this time, whose strength was greatly diminished by the pain.
Each of them tried their best, but it was clear that the force was simply not enough...
