Love Comes To Me
Chapter 422: Temptation and Threat

Neither of them spoke, and time seemed to stand still.

But Hector's powerful and overwhelming aura pressed the woman a little out of breath, and she was the first to speak, "Why you again? What else do you want to do to me? Or do you want to know something?" "I am Hector, the husband of the woman you tried to kill today." Hector looked at her coldly.

Upon hearing his name, the woman couldn't help but be a little shocked.

This was Hector....

It was the existence in this city that they could only look up to.

I never thought that one day she would be able to sit with him.

Learning who he was, the woman quickly collected her surprise and instead of panicking, she changed her attitude to one of negotiation and looked straight at Hector. "What do you want to know from me?"

She knew that Hector must have come to her for something, otherwise he wouldn't have made a point of coming to see a small person like himself.

"Tell me who's behind you and I'll grant you one wish."

Seeing that she was emboldened, Hector was not slow to say the same.

"I don't know what you're talking about, what's behind or not behind, I didn't know she was your wife when I hijacked her.

But I just saw that she was good looking and well dressed and wanted to earn some blackmail money, and you know in our business, we don't distinguish between people."

The woman's words were so tightly wound that she wanted to take the whole thing on herself.

Hector wasn't annoyed and pulled a pile of information from his side and flung it onto the table.

"Gillian Berkes, nineteen years old, six-foot-five, one hundred and thirty pounds, birthmark on her back, hobby basketball."

The woman was in complete disarray at Hector's words, the panic in her eyes increasing with every word Hector uttered.

Trying to get up from the chair, she bounced back into a sitting position because her hands were cuffed.

She could only stare at Hector with wide eyes and gritted her teeth, "What have you done to my son?"

At that, Hector laughed, picked up the papers on the table and threw them straight into the bin to the side.

Getting up, standing next to the woman, he said lightly, "Getting this information was easy for me, you shouldn't want your son's future to be ruined like this, after all, he's still in college, but ..." Hector paused, and the woman's heart lifted.

"What you did hurt my wife and there's no way I'm just going to let it go, and if you don't want to talk about it, I won't force you, except that your son will receive some 'special treatment'." Hector's words were so threatening that the woman dared not say anything in return.

Hector looked at her in a condescending manner, "I think as a mother, you have to think about your son's future. If you say so, I will not only pay you double the price, I will also send your son abroad.

Let your son enjoy a better educational environment. You have worked so hard to earn money, and you should also want to give your son a good life. As long as you name the mastermind behind it, I can meet all these conditions." After saying that Hector sat back in his original seat, his gaze was like a hawk staring at the woman.

Beads of sweat dripped from the woman's forehead as she was being watched by Hector.

"I'll only give you five minutes to think about it, now start the clock."

Hector unhurriedly snapped his watch onto the table, and the only sounds in the large space were the ticking of the hands and the woman's rhythmic breathing. Hector's offer was tempting, and to be honest the woman was really tempted.

But thinking about the man's warning earlier made her hesitate again.

However, after struggling a bit, she compromised, clasping her hands on the chair and saying, word for word, "I'll say it, I'll say it all."

"But do you really take your words seriously? Sending my son to study in a foreign country?" The woman looked at Hector in disbelief.

Seeing that she was ready to relent, Hector said lightly, "Don't worry, I never lie."

"I remember a woman came to my door that day and said she wanted me to do something for her and would give me money afterwards, but I don't know her name. First she gave me a sum of money, then she gave me a picture of your wife, just get her hurt, as bad as you can, and I don't have to worry about the rest, that's all I know." The woman's words didn't really make any real sense, all of which Hector had thought about.

It was just that someone wanted Eloise dead, it was who that person was that mattered.

Hector frowned as he pulled a card from his pocket and laid it on the table.

"There's half a million dollars on this card, and it's all yours if you come up with the woman's face, a figure you'll probably never be able to reach in a lifetime of work."

The woman looked at the bank card on the table and swallowed, pondered for a moment and then spoke, "That woman was dressed up very tightly when she approached me. I don't remember what she looked like, she was about 5'6", with a slight hunch, but I don't know the rest."

What the woman said about her looks was most common in a crowd and not at all a substantial description.

Hector got a little impatient, "You better say something nutritious, my patience is limited, if I don't say more, I can't guarantee your son's safety."

Seeing that Hector was really getting angry, the woman began to think back in earnest.

After a long moment, she remembered something with a jolt, "We were meeting in a cafe, there would have been surveillance there, probably something that could have been recorded."

Hector gave her a look, not quite sure, but at this point he had no other choice but to half believe it.

The woman, however, looked at her with a serious look, as if she wasn't faking.

Hector had no choice but to say, "In that case, I will go and make sure, and if that is correct, I will honour my promise completely and nothing less."

He said it with an expressionless face, and although it was a promise, it came out in his tone of voice as if it was just cold words smashing against his heart.

The woman was intimidated by his look and looked timidly to the side.

It was a far cry from the way she had looked when he had held the knife to Eloise.

Hector wasn't interested in what she looked like, he just wanted to catch the man behind the curtain now and put Eloise's mind at ease.

So he said this and left straight away.

After he came out, Hector said directly to Thomas in a cold voice, "That woman said she and the mastermind behind it met at the cafe, I'll send you the address of the cafe later, you go and transfer the surveillance and let me know." Thomas nodded, looked at the address on his phone, and drove straight to the cafe.

Hector was certainly confident in his ability to get things done, so he simply sat down at the police station and waited for Thomas to return.

The policeman was frightened by that look of his, afraid of a complaint, and hurriedly said, "Mr Hector, we can send someone to investigate this matter in the police station, there is no need for your assistant to go, right?"
