Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 424: I was an accident
Thomas slowly slammed on the brakes, brought the car to a steady stop and said, "We're home."
Hector gave a faint "hmm" and went straight into the house.
When he arrived at the house, I don't know if it was because he felt at home, but his heart warmed up two or three times.
He looked around and saw no sign of Eloise, so he was a little anxious and took the stairs in his stride.
He saw Eloise in the study with Solomon, the two of them leaning together, talking and laughing.
To Hector's eyes, such a picture could not have been more heartwarming.
Perhaps his gaze was so hot that Eloise had to take notice of him.
Hearing him breathing a little sharply, she asked, "What's wrong? Is something wrong?"
Hector shook his head, "No, I just missed you and wanted to see you sooner."
Eloise laughed at that, he was getting more and more childish.
He was getting more and more childish now, but he was even more seductive to Eloise.
Eloise let go of Solomon, came over and pointed at his chest and said, "I feel like you're even younger than Solomon now, so dependent on people."
She had only been joking, but who knew that Hector would suddenly right himself and say, "I was scared the last time I was in that situation."
Hearing him say that, Eloise's expression froze as well.
She wrapped her arms around him and said softly, "How did it go when you went to do something today?"
Hector increased the strength of his hug and said softly, "Don't worry, I'll take care of it and won't spare anyone who hurts you."
Hearing his promise, an undeniable warmth welled up in Eloise's heart.
Seeing this serious and deeply loving man in front of her, with a sweet and understanding son by his side, she felt that she could not ask for anything more in life.
At that moment, Solomon suddenly dropped his brush and said with a displeased look on his face, "Mummy and Daddy are so bad, they always stick together when they see each other and don't even want me. It's true that you guys are the real love and I'm just an accident."
The couple were amused by his comment.
It was Hector who said, "Solomon, you're too old to take care of yourself?"
Solomon pouted at this, "Bad daddy, I'm going to paint you like a clown."
Eloise was delighted to see the two of them bickering.
She patted Hector and said, "You're too old to be angry with your son.
Let's go over and draw with Solomon, or he'll have another tantrum."
Seeing the two of them together turned Solomon's anger into joy and he couldn't help saying, "Mummy's better, I love Mummy."
He gave Eloise a kiss on the cheek.
Looking at his son, who was getting further and further away from him, Hector had nothing to say and sighed, deliberately saying, "Solomon, you don't want your pocket money these days, do you?" When he heard that it was a matter of his own pocket money, Solomon's eyes rolled up and he hurriedly changed his tone, "Daddy is the best daddy in the world too."
Hector laughed at this and gave him a pinch on the cheek, "You ass-kisser."
He smiled sweetly and went back to his painting.
After she'd gotten Solomon to settle down, Eloise continued, "Hector, I just remembered something... do you think the people who did this could be the same people who kidnapped me last time?" Although she still felt the fear of those people last time, they were indeed the most suspicious.
When Hector heard this, he just shook his head silently, "It's not those people."
At that, Eloise was slightly relieved that it wasn't those guys.
After all, those guys were just too dangerous, she had only been kidnapped by them once and still had a shadow over her.
"What's wrong?" Noticing Eloise's difference, Hector asked in a hurry.
Although she didn't want to worry Hector, Eloise understood that nothing could escape him, so she had to tell the truth.
"I just think that it's probably good for us that it's not them, after all, those people are too strong for us to move them anytime soon."
That was true, but at this moment in Hector's heart, a seed had been planted to eradicate all danger for her.
He looked at the person in front of him, who was on the tip of his heart, and thought of all that had happened to her recently.
He said softly, "Don't worry, it will be fine, I will replace the murderer as soon as possible. Even if it's the last gang, I'll get rid of them as soon as possible."
Eloise, at this point, just nodded, not noticing the subtle change in Hector's expression.
After a while, she said guiltily, "Although there's nothing wrong with me, but Rupert was dragged down by me again this time.
He was almost recovered and would have been discharged in a few days, but now his condition has worsened again."
She was moved by the thought of Rupert pulling himself up by his broken leg that day.
Only more than that, she felt guilty; after all, if it hadn't been for herself, he wouldn't be in so much pain right now.
Hector put his arm around her shoulders and said with relief, "It's all family, and Rupert knew how much you meant to me before he fought to save you."
For Rupert, he was actually a little indebted to him, after all, many times he had been the one to put himself first and get injured so many times.
As an older brother, he usually just did the aftermath, which was very shameful to say the least.
But he also knew that if he had been the one injured, Rupert would be feeling the same way as he was, because the bond of brotherhood was precious.
Eloise poked her head out of his arms and whispered, "I understand, and Aisly, if it wasn't for her, I'm afraid I'd ... be dead."
If it wasn't for her, I would have been dead long ago.
But before she could say the words, Hector gagged her with his fingertips.
He would not allow her to say such unlucky words.
Eloise understood what he meant and immediately kept her mouth shut, looking at him with an aggrieved expression.
The look on her face made Hector's heart melt and he couldn't bear to reprimand her.
Eloise looked at the time and smiled, "Well, it's getting late, so go to bed now, you have to get up early for work tomorrow. I should go to bed too, I'll make some breakfast for Rupert in the morning." After Hector nodded, she turned to Solomon and said, "Solomon, let's go to bed and paint tomorrow."
Solomon bristled, "I want Daddy and Mummy to tell stories together before I go to bed."
The couple looked at each other and smiled, then said in unison, "Okay."
