Chapter 438: I'll break you into pieces

Since her term of office had ended and the company's affairs had since been handed over, there was no need for Eloise to stay any longer, so she stood up and said, "Since there is nothing else to do, let's adjourn the meeting."

With these words, she intended to step down from her position.

"Hold on." Josh suddenly stood up and pointed his finger directly at Eloise in the head seat.

Eloise had noticed him when she walked in, but she hadn't looked at him because he was too low key today, and now that he had suddenly stood up, she froze.

"What do you want?" Eloise held her head high, her gaze forced straight at him.

Josh strides forward with an angry look on his face and walks up to her, cursing, "Eloise, do you still know that your last name is Thompson and you are the daughter of my Thompson family?" Eloise didn't say anything, she just looked at him quietly.

Looking at her like that, Josh just assumed that she had acquiesced and was justified in not saying anything, so he hurriedly continued to scold her, "You know that the Thompson Group is my half-life's work, so why don't you give me this position instead of giving it to an outsider!"

Everyone knew it was a bad situation when they saw Josh come forward, and now with his scolding, the group was sweating for Eloise.

It wasn't so much that they were afraid Josh would do something out of the ordinary - Hector was here, after all - but that he'd be a morale-kicker that would make Eloise look bad, and now that seemed to be the case.

After listening to him calmly, Eloise laughed lightly, "It's my freedom to give it to whoever I want. Besides, it's Dad's fault that the company is where it is today, right, so why should I let it repeat the same mistakes?" With these words, Eloise walked away with Hector's hand on her arm.

Everyone silently screamed for Eloise in their hearts, knowing that by saying that, she was telling everyone that if the Thompson Group fell into Josh's hands again, it would be taken away by someone else, and breaking everyone's mind to support Josh.

Josh looked at her back and was so angry that he couldn't say anything.

"Well, Eloise did it." Josh's voice got even lower.

Josh was furious at the mention of it and said, "Forget it, Eloise got someone from somewhere and appointed him as managing director."

This was something Ela had never expected, and she almost threw the coffee table in front of her, cursing, "Eloise is such a wolf, how can she make an outsider the managing director and not even look at her own father? What a waste of time raising her."

Her heart was breaking at the thought that Agnes was now alone abroad, pregnant and wanted.

The first two days she sold the jewellery she had on her and bought a black jacket for two meals, but the further she got, the more she basically couldn't survive. Unable to work for money, and with no one to help her, she had no choice but to steal and rob.

The first time she stole money, she was caught and beaten up, and her body still hurts.

She also tried begging, but there were so many homeless people here, each trying to maintain their own turf, that she was chased away many times and did not receive any handouts. Agnes shivered as she recalled the events of those days. She fumbled around for half a day, fished half a loaf of stolen bread out of her pocket and slowly nibbled on it.
