Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 439: Collusion
After she said this, the cleaner who was sleeping next to her shouted angrily, "What's all the noise, don't let anyone sleep anymore."
The cleaner was probably not awake and did not look like he was from this country, so he spoke very strange words, but it was good that Agnes understood. She immediately said, "I'm sorry." And she left quietly.
She had to say that she was now in a situation where she was a rat in the street, not even daring to offend a cleaning lady.
In her heart she wanted to kill Eloise, but she didn't have the strength to do so, and she couldn't even hope to survive.
Suddenly, she has a flash of light and thinks of someone.
It was Arthur.
The Stephens Group was based in the city, and it wasn't hard to replace Arthur. Arthur hated Hector to the core, and if she could get his help, she would be able to kill the Hector's. Stephen is not as good as he was then, and I'm afraid he's still recuperating from the mess he made when he went against Hector.
And, as far as she knows, Arthur almost got screwed by the board last time because of that incident, and with old grudges and new ones combined, Arthur is just about ready to go straight to the country and tear Hector apart. The enemy of an enemy is a friend, and Arthur is a man of honour, so if he can join forces with him, he's halfway there.
If she could replace someone to back her up, she would be able to get Eloise killed with her own skills.
As she thought this, she finished the bread in her hand, patted the dust on her body, and went to the public toilet to wash her face and straighten her hair. Eloise, I'll see how long you can go on being complacent.
She finished cleaning herself up before heading to Stephens Group.
It was a good thing that Stephens Group was not far from her, and it was only a short walk away.
Just as she was about to enter, the security guard at the door came straight over and stopped her, "Miss, please show your work permit."
She didn't work for Stephen, so naturally she didn't have a work permit, but she didn't want to give up and said straight away, "I want to see Arthur."
The two guards froze before saying, "You need an appointment to see our Mr. Stephen, do you have one?"
Naturally Agnes did not, so she had to exit and wait off to the side for Arthur to come out and speak to him directly when the time came.
She looked at the skyscrapers in front of her, reflecting a bit harshly in the sun, and couldn't help but think again of the time when she used to walk through buildings like this every day back home, but now it was a luxury for her to even go inside.
She didn't know how long she had been waiting for Arthur, but perhaps she was lucky enough to replace Arthur's assistant by mistake.
The guard saw how persistently she waited and told his assistant the reason.
The assistant came over and looked at her, "What are you looking for the president?"
Agnes thought for a moment, "I want to talk to Mr. Stephen about a deal that concerns Hector."
"What assurance do you have that the president will see you?" The assistant narrowed her eyes, sizing her up.
This woman didn't look like much, but for some reason he felt a slight resemblance between her eyebrows and Eloise's. He didn't know if it was an illusion, but he had a hunch that this woman wasn't that simple. Instead of avoiding his gaze, Agnes met him directly, which surprised the assistant a little.
"I'm sure she won't say no." Agnes said.
She believed that Arthur's hatred for Hector would never let go of a single opportunity, so that was her leverage.
The assistant was impressed by her boldness, but after all, it was such a big deal as meeting Arthur and he couldn't make the call, so he simply didn't say anything and went straight in.
When he reached the president's office, the assistant said respectfully, "President, there's a woman downstairs who wants to see you, and I heard from the security guard that she's been waiting for hours, and it looks like there's something important."
Arthur heard him out and said without looking up, "No."
"But she said it was something to do with Hector ..." the assistant hesitated for a moment and then said.
Arthur snapped his head up after hearing this and looked at his assistant, "Have someone invite her up, I want to see what she has to do with it."
After giving the order, Arthur walked over to the window and looked out at the view beyond.
He had wanted to see the woman the assistant had mentioned, but because the floor was so high, he was doomed to see nothing from here, so he had to settle for the second best, just standing up and watching the view.
It was ten minutes after Agnes had been invited up, and Arthur was so absorbed in the view that it took him a while to respond when the assistant knocked on the door.
"Come in."
Agnes smiled and came in.
Arthur froze for a moment as they met.
Not for anything else, he thought Agnes looked like someone, but on closer inspection, it didn't seem very similar.
"You guessed right, I'm Hector's sister-in-law, but I hate the couple as much as you do." Agnes said bluntly.
This gave Arthur a few moments of interest and pressed on, "Why do you hate them?"
"They took my company away from me and left me floating abroad, do you think I should hate them?" Agnes' eyes revealed a fierceness that made Arthur's heart palpitate a little when he looked at them.
"But it's your business to hate them, it has nothing to do with me." Arthur walked over to himself and resumed his seat, his tone still cloudy as well.
"I have something on them."
A shot to the heart, and even Arthur, who had been transported, was lost for a moment in this moment.
He looked up at Agnes and said bluntly, "Speak."
Agnes nodded, "If we can use this as a lever, we can certainly get Hector killed when the time comes, and it won't cost you a penny."
It was a tempting offer, and Arthur was tempted, but he never fought a battle he couldn't win.
With a calculating look in his eyes, he said directly, "What's the catch?"
"Solomon was actually born to Eloise, no one knows about this except me, I won't go into the details, in any case, they don't know each other, we can use this to make a big fuss, not afraid that they won't fall for it." This was a secret matter back then, so even Arthur froze for a moment after Agnes had said it in one breath.
"You're just sure they'll fall for it?" Arthur didn't care who had their son, all he wanted was the outcome, and Hector's ruin was more important than anything else.
Agnes still nodded, her tone full of confidence, "As long as you, Mr. Stephen, are willing to trust me to take care of this matter, your great revenge will be avenged." Arthur also had a few heartbeats after hearing this.
