Love Comes To Me
Chapter 443: Love Letters

Rupert's words exploded in Aisly's ears like a bolt from the blue.

She thought she had misheard, or perhaps she was imagining things again, but it turned out she hadn't.

"Rupert, do you have any idea what you're talking about?" Aisly's voice couldn't help but tremble.

Afraid that Aisly would be taken aback by his sudden words, Rupert hastened to explain, "Of course I know what I'm talking about, Aisly, I'm not joking, I really mean it."

He tried to take Aisly's hand, but once again she dodged it.

Aisly looked at Rupert with puzzled eyes and said, word for word, "Rupert, do you know what it is to like? Do you know what love is, have you ever thought about what you like about me?"

"I ..." Rupert didn't know how to answer when faced with Aisly's question.

For all those years he was used to being cynical and never really liked anyone.

All he knew was that Aisly gave him a feeling that was different from others.

But exactly what it is that he likes, he cannot say.

Seeing Rupert stumble a little, Aisly's mind was clear.

"I'm sorry, you don't even know what you like about me, I can't say yes to your request, I'm sorry, I have to go first."

With those words, Aisly left straight away.

At this moment, Aisly is incomparably calm, knowing full well the status of the man in front of her, someone she cannot climb above.

Although she had previously thought about being with Rupert, Aisly would have hesitated if she really wanted to start the relationship.

After all, the threshold of the Rogers family is not so easy to enter.

But there was also a twinge of joy in his heart, not realising that Rupert really had a special affection for himself.

Watching Aisly's departing back, Rupert couldn't help but egg himself on a little.

The first time I confessed to someone myself, I was rejected.

He pounded his head; if he had known this was the case, he should never have opened his mouth.

Now well, Aisly must have misunderstood himself and thought he was one of those dudes.

I still can't get rid of the problem of talking without thinking.

Seeing her walk away, Rupert had to limp back to his room on his own.

"Rupert? How was the inspection?" Mrs Matriarch couldn't resist asking when she saw Rupert pass by.

But Rupert walked back into the room as if he hadn't heard, lost in thought.

Mrs Matriarch was puzzled when she saw it.

By the afternoon, Eloise returned from the office and Mrs Matriarch immediately pulled her in.

"Eloise, go and see Rupert, he's been bottled up in his room by himself since he got back from the hospital today. In between I went to knock on the door to ask about it and didn't answer, what's gotten into him?" At that, Eloise couldn't help but be a little curious as to what kind of blow could have caused Mr Rupert to lose his vigour.

Take Eloise upstairs with a glass of milk and knock on Rupert's door.

"Rupert, may I come in?"

No one returned the call.

Eloise knocked a few more times before the door of the room opened from the inside.

Only Rupert spoke with a lost look on his face, "Come in, sister-in-law."

"Rupert, what's wrong with you?" Eloise couldn't help asking when she saw him in this state.

Rupert fell back onto the bed with a wide grin and his voice trailed off, "Ugh, don't ask sister-in-law, I'll talk to you in a few days, leave me alone for a while."

"All right then, I've got milk for you, remember to drink it."

With that Eloise went out, thoughtfully closing the door for Rupert.

When she came out, she couldn't help but snicker; Rupert's reaction was clearly a breakup.

But without saying anything, he went straight to pick up Solomon.

Solomon saw Eloise and rushed towards her.

"Mummy! You've come to pick me up so early today." Solomon said a little breathlessly.

Eloise took out a tissue to wipe the beads of sweat from Solomon's face and said with a smile, "Yes, Mummy finished work early today, so she came to pick Solomon up soon."

Just as Eloise was about to take Solomon home, a little girl came running up to her.

Handing a card to Solomon, she said shyly, "Solomon, this is a letter I wrote to you and I hope you will take a moment."

The girl finished and ran away.

Eloise looked at the card in Solomon's hand and smiled, "We have a girl for Solomon."

Solomon blushed when he heard this and hurriedly defended himself, "Mummy, it's not what you think, she and I are just friends."

"It's okay, it's Solomon's personal problem and Mummy won't ask too many questions, but if they write to you, you have to write back. It's polite, but Solomon is still young, so remember not to hurt her feelings." Eloise rubbed Solomon's head and said patiently.

At these words, Solomon nodded with seeming understanding and bounced away.

By the end of the day, Solomon had gone to his room early, saying he had big things to do.

The adults in the family couldn't help but look at each other, what was Solomon up to in all his mysteriousness?

Eloise, however, sniggered aside; after all, she knew the truth.

Seeing the look on Eloise's face, Hector could see some clues.

When the two returned to the room, Hector hugged Eloise and asked, "Eloise, there's something unusual about Solomon today, is there something you two are hiding from me?"

Eloise snorted with laughter, "I'll show you Solomon's room in secret and you'll see."

With that the pair sneaked up to the door of Solomon's room and gingerly opened Solomon's door a crack.

Solomon is seen sitting at his study table, writing carefully about something.

Upon seeing it, Eloise pulled Hector back into the room on tiptoe.

"When I went to pick up Solomon this afternoon, a girl handed Solomon a card, probably in the category of a love letter.

It's not like Solomon is writing back to people."

Hector's face was full of disbelief when he heard it.

"Are all kids so precocious these days?"

Eloise lost her smile and pretended to smack Hector, "You think everyone is a mook like you."

Sensing a slight reproach in Eloise's words, Hector scratched his head in embarrassment.

Unlike the sweetness of the two, Rupert was suffering at this time.

He had spent the afternoon thinking about the answer to Aisly's words.

But even if he thought about it, Rupert didn't know what he liked, what he loved, and what he loved about her.

The questions wound him up a bit.

He couldn't help but snicker at the thought.

I've been in a million flowers and I'm a master of love, but when it comes to real relationships, I look like an idiot.

Suddenly Hector's figure flashed through his mind and Rupert sat up violently from his bed.

Yes, he could ask his brother for advice. Why not use such a vivid teacher around him.
