Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 478: You're going to be a father
Dinner was still plentiful, except that Eloise really didn't have much of an appetite when she looked at the dishes on the table.
Because of Hector's preference, most of the meat dishes are on this half of Eloise's table.
She was tasteless today, but picked only a few bites of the vegetarian dishes, which tasted a bit like wax.
Hector looked at her sickly look and couldn't help but be a little worried.
"What's the matter, Eloise, is the food not to your liking tonight? I see you haven't eaten much."
Eloise shook her head and gave Hector a small smile. "Nothing, I'm probably a bit tired today, so I don't have much of an appetite and I'm a bit nauseous." Hector didn't think much of it, he just said, "If you're tired, go upstairs and rest, and if you feel hungry in the evening, ask the nanny to make you something to eat." Eloise nodded and put down her dishes and went upstairs to rest.
Strangely enough, looking at all those delicious dishes at the table just now, Eloise just felt a fluttering in her gut and couldn't stop the nausea.
But when I lay down at this point, the feeling of nausea disappeared again.
Probably because she had been too delicate lately, Eloise still felt a little uncomfortable and closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep.
Over the next few days, however, the previous symptoms not only did not improve, but also worsened.
Eloise has little appetite throughout the day, only eating very little and feeling sick at the sight of meat.
Hector finally saw that something was wrong with her and, after feeling her forehead for a normal temperature, asked worriedly.
"You look a little pale, are you very unwell? I'll take you to the hospital."
"It's okay Hector, I'm fine."
Eloise waved her hand and pressed her temple.
"I guess it's just a bad rest, I should be fine in a few days."
Hector was not listening to her this time.
"That's what you said the other day, and it hasn't been going well. I'll take you to the hospital."
Before Eloise could say anything, Hector took her in his arms and walked straight away.
The drive all the way to the hospital didn't fail to draw a few sideways glances from the people around.
Eloise sighed slightly as she sat in the hospital corridor waiting for her labs.
"Hector go ahead and get busy if you want to, it's a bit hard on my heart to keep you with me like this."
Eloise said with a slight apology.
Hector heard the words, but with a frown and a slightly displeased look.
"Eloise, what are you thinking, we are family, if you are not feeling well, you should be the first to tell me so that I can come and accompany you to the hospital.
You'd be doing me a disservice if you didn't tell me you were holding yourself together, you know?"
At these words, Eloise felt a sudden warmth in her heart and smiled slightly at Hector.
The door to the laboratory was soon pushed open and the little nurse came out with a stack of lab sheets, reading out the names one by one before the last one was Eloise's.
The young nurse brightened up with enthusiasm when she saw Hector's appearance.
"Are you Eloise's husband? Congratulations."
What is there to congratulate about coming to the hospital? Wouldn't a hospital think it was a good thing for a patient to come in sick and give themselves money?
Just as the two of them were confused, the little nurse pointed to the lab results on the slip and said, "Congratulations to both of you and to the lady, you are pregnant. Sir, you're going to be a father?" "What?"
Hector snatched up the lab slip as soon as he could and saw the results on it.
A delighted face said, "Eloise, you're pregnant!"
Eloise looked at Hector's happy face and pursed the corners of her lips with a smile and a little crystal in the corners of her eyes.
Hector was far happier than she expected, and even a little out of sorts compared to his usual cold demeanour.
The two drove all the way home, and although Hector didn't say it, she could tell that he was in a good mood.
Back at home, Solomon is sitting on the sofa reading a picture book.
At the sound of the door opening, Solomon stood up happily and was just about to jump into Eloise's arms when Hector reached out and picked himself up in a one-armed hug. "Solomon, no naughtiness."
"Solomon hasn't been naughty, Solomon wants to be held by Mummy!" Solomon said as he lay on Hector's shoulder.
He carried Solomon to sit on the sofa and helped Eloise over so she could sit down too.
The movements were incredibly gentle, as if he was afraid of hurting her.
Mrs Matriarch came down from the first floor at this point and gave Hector a rather surprised look.
"What's with the happy trip to the hospital, is Eloise all right?"
"Good thing."
Hector said and told the nanny to go and prepare more supplements.
Then joyfully, "Mum, Eloise isn't sick, she's pregnant."
"Really! That's just great!"
Mrs Matriarch was so pleased at the news that she rushed over to shush Eloise.
The family is happy and warm.
Just then, Solomon came over and jumped into Eloise's arms. "Is Mummy going to have a younger sibling?"
"Yeah!" Eloise laughed and motioned for Solomon to sit next to her.
"Are you happy?"
"Of course I'm happy! Solomon has dreamed of having a younger sibling to keep me company!"
He leaned down as a man-child and pressed his ear to the small of Eloise's back with a stern look that made you want to laugh.
Mrs Matriarch, seeing this look on his face, was busy asking, "Solomon, what are you doing?"
"Shhhh, I'm talking to the little... in Mommy's tummy. Little brother and sister are talking!"
Solomon's tiny head nuzzled against the small of Eloise's back, soft forehead hair thinly held back from the small half of the child's forehead.
He said with a serious look on his face, "They're calling me brother!"
The family couldn't help but look at Solomon as a human child.
The baby came so suddenly that even Eloise was a little surprised.
But it settled Eloise's heart to see the family care for themselves in such a way.
Being pregnant makes her sleepy, and this night she lay down early.
Hector went back to his room, took a shower and hugged Eloise from behind.
Eloise's heart warmed as her spine suddenly fell into a blazing chest.
He took the hand that he had wrapped around his waist and together they caressed the small of his back.
"Back?"
"Mmm." Hector's eyes were closed and his chin rested against Eloise's head encircling her in his arms, embracing him intimately. Although the little one in Eloise's belly is still unformed, Hector can feel it vaguely.
A young child is being conceived in this, a child of its own.
His voice was soft and low in Eloise's ears.
"Thank you, Eloise."
At this moment, holding Eloise, Hector felt nothing but happiness.
He would like to thank Eloise for coming to him and thank God for giving them a child so that he can have a complete family.
