Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 477: You will know the consequences
Although reason tells her that Agnes might be lying, Marian wants to take a gamble too.
A slight gloom passed over Marian's eyes at the thought.
No wonder Solomon and Eloise were so close when they first got together; it's amazing how bloodlines can be related.
As for Agnes, she was never to be in the country, let alone allowed anywhere near Eloise.
If this woman is not to be trusted, then all will be lost for her.
Just as Marian was thinking things over, the phone rang.
Marian was startled to see Hall's name flashing on the screen and immediately dropped his heart.
Some impatience picks up.
"Marian, I heard you went abroad to track down Agnes, how was that, any results now? Do you need my help?"
Hall's voice had a slightly drunken edge to it and Marian frowned. "I'm busy right now, so don't call me if you don't have anything to do, no extra time." Seeing Marian about to hang up, Hall hurriedly said, "Wait!"
"Marian, you must protect yourself abroad and we will give you a reception when you return."
"Okay, hang up."
Hearing a busy tone on the other side, Hall was very distraught.
Ramm was not able to persuade anything from the sidelines, so he could only drink with him.
Emotions are such a hurtful thing, and nothing good ever comes from the one who gives willingly.
For some time now, Hector has not assigned any tasks to the duo, so they have been idle.
Hall heard that Marian had gone abroad and wanted to go and replace her.
Ramm was the first to stand up and retort that Hector had always been averse to his men having personal relationships with each other.
If he replaces out, Hall will not be the only one to suffer, but Marian will be punished as well.
Hector's methods were well known to them, so he would never let his best friend take that risk.
Marian hung up the phone and then went into the bathroom.
The bath was filled with cold water and Marian slowly stepped into it.
The cold water stung and Marian couldn't help but shiver.
She had always taken to bathing in cold water, the only way she could keep her head clear at all times.
Mild water is the bane of intoxication and Marian doesn't want to be the one to sink in the smooth waters.
After a short dip in the water, Marian got up.
Walking over to the mirror, she scrutinised the figure of the person in it.
Not an ounce of fat on her body, a near-perfect figure.
Any man who saw it would have been unable to control it.
But she knew in her heart that even if she were to stand naked in front of Hector, he wouldn't be able to give herself a look. So sad.
Marian smiled sadly, found some clothes to change into, and walked out of the bathroom.
Looking at the time, Marian dialed Hector's number.
It was still daytime in the country and Hector looked at the phone screen lit up with his name and picked it up in a hurry. "Did you replace it?"
Marian hesitated at the sound of his voice, but quickly adjusted himself.
Speaking slowly, he said, "Prince, I'm sorry, we broke the trail and suddenly Agnes disappeared, my guess is that Arthur hid her." Hector couldn't help but grip his phone tighter when he heard it, slightly annoyed.
He had always trusted Marian's efficiency, and since the trail had been found, he would be able to bring it back.
I had no idea that she had made a mistake this time.
"Come back, I'll send someone else, you're needed back on the domestic side." Hector said coldly.
"Yes, Prince."
Hanging up the phone, a small smile played on Marian's lips.
Looking at the picture of Hector on the screen of her phone, Marian passed a look of fascination.
After meeting Hector for the first time back then, she fell in love with this slightly cold man and couldn't stop herself.
She also knows that she is worlds apart from him, so Marian has restrained her feelings.
She had thought that if she was good enough, he would definitely see her.
But who would have thought that Eloise would show up and completely upset the odds.
No matter what, she was going to get Hector, no matter what the cost.
The next day, Marian went to see Agnes and pulled the cloth off her eyes.
The blinding light jolted into Agnes' eyes and Agnes couldn't help but raise her hand.
She subconsciously tried to back away when she saw Marian standing in front of her.
"What the hell do you ... want?"
Marian approached, took out a dagger and said with a smile, "I've come to see you since, and if you promise that what you say is true, I'll be sure to let you go. If not, you will know the consequences." Marian said and slashed Agnes around the neck.
There was bright red blood coming out, and Agnes, terrified, hastened to respond, "I swear that I have not spoken a word of falsehood."
Marian was pleased with Agnes' reaction.
With a snap of the fingers, two men were seen coming out of the corner.
Marian ordered in a cold voice, "Keep an eye on her, meet her daily needs, but don't let her get away from here or I'll put you to the test!" "As ordered!"
With those words, Marian left the premises.
Domestically, Hector's face was not a good one.
Eloise came in with his coffee and, seeing the look on his face, knew that he must have been troubled by something.
Putting her coffee down, Eloise walked up behind Hector.
Gently massaging him, he softly asked, "What's wrong, is it something tricky?"
"Well, Marian said she lost him and now Agnes can't replace him."
Hector's words reveal a strong sense of resignation.
Eloise heard it but didn't react too much.
"It's okay, now that Agnes has a home to return to and Arthur has been hit accordingly, she deserves to be where she is."
Hector sniffed and took her in his arms, holding her close.
"Eloise, I don't want to spare anyone who has caused you harm, and the pain you have suffered, I want to pay them back a hundredfold."
With that, Eloise looked Hector straight in the eye and said seriously, "Hector, I don't really care about any of this. My only wish is that our family can be together in peace, and that's enough for me." With that said Eloise kissed Hector directly on the lips and Hector responded.
After a while, Eloise was so tingled by Hector's kisses that her whole body went limp on top of Hector's.
"Hector, I'm so sleepy, I want to go and rest." Eloise said poutingly.
Hector smiled at that and carried her into the lounge.
Tuck her in before turning around and heading out.
It was late in the evening before Eloise woke up languidly, just in time to see Hector sitting in front of the bed.
Smiling, he wrapped his arms around Hector's waist.
Seeing that she had woken up, Hector patted Eloise's head and said dotingly, "It's closing time already, my little lazybones." Eloise buried her head under the covers in embarrassment.
The duo stayed at the office for a while longer before returning to the Rogers family.
