Love Comes To Me
Chapter 482: Hector's persona collapses

Coming out of the study, Ela's face, immediately, sank and frost was thick in her eyes.

Tonight, she said those words to Josh, disgusting enough to herself, that old thing, and really thought she would come around.

Fuck it, when she didn't see the picture pressed against the table with the words "Six Months Baby" on the back, a picture of Eloise that she'd seen once before, with Josh's handwriting on it. The old thing seemed to be really sorry. Ela sneered, Eloise, you really deserve to die!

On the other side, Agnes was being held by Marian, hating it in her heart but knowing she couldn't get away, she didn't struggle unnecessarily and just settled down in a right way.

But she was not idle, Marian did not completely restrict her, she could still, by some means, know what was going on in the country.

Her hatred for Eloise has never abated.

Rogers family.

The news of Eloise's pregnancy really made the Rogers family happy for a while, and with it came a lot of nervousness.

Mrs Matriarch, in particular, had been looking forward to the baby for a long time and couldn't keep an eye on Eloise in case anything happened to her. Even when Eloise was taking a bath, she wanted to be outside, making Eloise laugh and cry.

"Why is Mom so nervous, it's making me nervous along with her." Eloise said quietly to Hector.

Hector pulled her into his arms, planted a kiss on her forehead, rubbed the back of her neck and said softly, "She's been looking forward to this for too long, understand, eh?"

Eloise laughs, "I don't mean to blame, it's just that mum is so hard."

"I'll talk to her then." Hector turned and made to go to Mrs Matriarch.

"You're not going." Eloise hastily pulled her back, moving a little too far to scare Hector into backing off.

Eloise was so pleased with herself, she felt that the baby in her belly was her greatest weapon, and now Hector was obedient.

Eloise was too excited to sleep and pulled Hector into a rambling conversation, to which Hector cooperated by listening intently and occasionally responding with patience.

In the end, Eloise couldn't stay up any longer and lost her voice, so Hector went over to her and found her eyes closed and asleep.

He couldn't help but smile and gently moved her into a comfortable position, his eyes inadvertently falling on the small of her back, he couldn't help but place his large hand on it, it was still flat and unimaginable that their child was already conceived inside.

It's not the first time Hector has been a father, but that doesn't detract from his excitement. He's a cold, angry man who seems calm on the outside, but is actually as excited as anyone in the Rogers family.

"Good night, baby." Hector gave Eloise a soft kiss on her flat belly, greeted Solomon Bay inside and then gave Eloise another goodnight kiss before turning off the lights and snuggling Eloise into a peaceful sleep.

The following day, Eloise got up and joined Hector, cleaned up and went downstairs for dinner, while Mrs Matriarch arranged the day's itinerary, such as which baby shops to visit, what baby music to buy and so on, and the more she talked, the more excited she got, the more she couldn't stop.

Eloise didn't feel right, it wasn't even the weekend, she had to work and couldn't go.

"Mom, I can't today, let's go some other time."

Mrs Matriarch immediately became nervous, "What's wrong, what's wrong, should we go to the hospital and see a doctor?"

Eloise looked confused and said with some amusement, "No discomfort, I mean, I have to work today, so I can go over the weekend if I buy something."

Mrs Matriarch was surprised, "You have to go to work?"

"I've got to go to work." Eloise was more surprised than she was, and the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law stared wide-eyed, before Mrs Matriarch finally clanged one, put the spoon down and looked at Eloise with a serious expression. "Eloise, you're pregnant now, take care of your health, nurturing the baby is the most important thing, leave the work and stuff to Hector and Rupert, those brats have nothing to do all day anyway." Mrs Matriarch said bitterly. Eloise cried, "No, Mum, I'm just pregnant, it's only early days, it's not that bad."

"No, I won't agree to it anyway, it's too dangerous." Mrs Matriarch scowled.

Eloise reasoned with her, "Mum, it's not dangerous at all, that's what people do, a lot of them go back two days before they give birth."

"People are people, and my grandson can't suffer that." Mrs Matriarch still disagreed.

Eloise was at her wits' end, but it was absolutely impossible to keep her from going to work. Ten months, followed by a monthly period, would mean staying at home for a year and she would go crazy.

At the table, several older men were eating their breakfast in earnest, unable to interrupt.

Eloise looked at Hector for a word, and being looked at by her with infinite expectation, Hector finally spoke, "Ma ..."

"You don't talk, you don't understand about your daughter-in-law." Mrs Matriarch interrupted him without waiting for him to finish.

Hector looked at Eloise with a helpless look on his face.

"Mummy." Eloise, seeing that he was no good and had to do it herself, ran over and threw her arms around Mrs Matriarch and pouted, "Mum, I'll be very, very careful, nothing will happen at all, and besides, there's Hector, you think, how could he let anything happen to me, don't you."

Mrs Matriarch opened her mouth and before she could say anything, Eloise added, "Mum, you're the best, I'll come back when I'm feeling overwhelmed and I'll behave myself without you saying a word."

She smiled sweeter than honey and Mrs Matriarch was too wrapped up to do anything but oblige, nudging her hand on her forehead, "You."

With that, Eloise got herself the opportunity to go to work.

She felt that the pregnancy was no different from before, and if she hadn't thought about it deliberately, she wouldn't have remembered that there was an extra piece of flesh in her belly.

She has always had the illusion that those around her are settling into the role faster than she is.

For example, Mrs Matriarch, and then, for example, Hector.

When the car pulled up to the Rogers Group building, Hector got out first, then opened the door, reached out, and helped a pretty, gentle girl out of the car, carefully watching her feet for fear she might accidentally fall.

The Rogers Group employees around the room had mixed feelings as they watched this scene. Their ice-cold Mr Hector had such a side to him.

With his arm around Eloise, Hector entered the special lift and went straight to the top floor, shutting out a crowd of envious eyes.

This scene is played out every day in the Rogers Group building and the staff never tire of seeing it.

The hottest thing going on in the Rogers Group building these days is, of course, the president's wife's pregnancy, which they are discussing privately in the group with so much fervour that everyone can almost say one thing about Hector's collapsing persona.

The final unanimous conclusion was that the president's wife must have saved the galaxy.
