Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 483: Shouldn't I hate you?
When Eloise became a little drowsy after her pregnancy, Hector arranged for her to come into his office with a small blanket and a glass of warm water, and cut up a plate of fruit and put it next to her.
Eloise often falls asleep eating the fruit, then wakes up and it's time to leave work with Hector.
"I'm dishevelled again today." Eloise was full of remorse as she walked.
Hector said with a straight face, "It's the baby's fault for being sleepy."
Eloise cackled and looked at him askance, "He's still a baby, how can you stand it."
"Blame me for not waking the baby." Hector took it in stride.
Eloise blushed and turned her head away, the two executive girls following behind, almost fainting from the sweetness. As soon as Hector and Eloise left, they immediately opened the group and shared what they had just heard. The group was once again abuzz with messages swirling around.
Unaware that she has become the centre of conversation in the company's large group and is envied a million times a day, Eloise is currently standing in the doorway, waiting for Hector to drive up.
A little bored as she waited, she looked to her left and right, when suddenly she saw Josh coming this way.
Eloise was surprised, but there was no expression on her face.
Josh walked up to her and called out with some excitement, "Eloise!"
Eloise took a step back and looked at him warily, the self-satisfied, laid-back aura of a moment ago dissipating at once and being replaced by cold, bone-chilling cold.
Josh was a bit embarrassed, Eloise's rejection of people was too obvious, but he was here, he couldn't just leave without any success, so he said stiffly, "Eloise, don't be afraid, I don't mean anything else, I just came to see you." "What the hell are you doing here?" Eloise said coldly, Josh's bullshit was not something she would believe.
This man was annoying her just standing here, why hadn't Hector come yet, she wanted to leave.
Josh was busy saying, "I heard you were pregnant and I came to bring you something, why are you still at work, take care of your health usually, don't... sorry for talking too much."
Eloise is not touched but amused that Josh should care about her. She doesn't believe a word he says, because Josh has nothing better to do than to steal, and Josh must be up to something again.
The eye moves down and lands on something Josh is carrying.
Josh immediately had the good sense to lift up a bit and introduce it, "Your mum handpicked this, it's perfect for you to eat right now, you ..."
Eloise interrupted him, "My mother is dead."
Josh: "..."
He was trying to brush Ela off a little, but he didn't expect to be choked back so unmercifully by Eloise. It's a good thing Ela chose not to come in the end, otherwise I don't know if she would have been able to take it. "Fine, I said the wrong thing, don't take it personally." Josh changed his tune from good to bad.
Nowadays, he can no longer afford to pose in front of Eloise, but Eloise doesn't like this at all, and she would like this man, if possible, never to be seen again.
"You don't have to do this, wouldn't it be nice if we went our separate ways and didn't interfere with each other, why did you show up?" Eloise asked quietly.
Josh smiled reluctantly and hung his head, not daring to look at Eloise, "Eloise, Daddy has done so many things wrong and hurt you in the past, I know, you hate Daddy and have never been able to contact me for so long, I know all that." Eloise said coldly, "Shouldn't I hate you?"
"No no, you should hate, I don't mean to accuse you of anything." Josh smiled, a smile full of bitterness as he pleaded in a low voice, "Daddy was wrong, Eloise, and Daddy doesn't expect you to forgive me, just please be good and take care of yourself, okay?"
Eloise didn't speak, she didn't know what to say.
She hated this man, the man who had failed her mother and hurt her.
The resentment was so very, very deep that time could hardly erase it, and she had even thought of letting him die.
However, now she is not so paranoid.
She has a good life now and doesn't really want to pursue the past anymore, just as a stranger.
Yet this man came running up to her out of the blue, saying one word about her father and that he knew he was wrong and wished her well.
She felt a little amused by the idea of being wrong and then being able to let go of all the previous hurt.
What exactly does he rely on.
Eloise stood motionless, not speaking or looking at anyone.
Josh was a little apprehensive and pulled at the corners of his mouth, reluctantly saying, "So, are you, are you doing okay with the Rogers family?"
Eloise asked rhetorically, "Is it any of your business?"
Josh looked as if he had been struck by a great blow, his face paled, his lips quirked, and he said nothing at all.
Eloise brushed her head away, her mood sinking to the bottom.
She was already unstable because of her pregnancy, and now she was even more irritable. She wanted to turn around and leave, but she was worried that Hector wouldn't replace her, so she just stood still.
This, however, encouraged Josh to think there was hope for him and to talk excitedly again.
At that moment, Hector drove out and Eloise couldn't help but take a step forward as Josh behind her said pleadingly, "Eloise, take the stuff, will you?"
Eloise took a step and coldly returned, "No need." And walked straight towards Hector.
Over there Hector also saw Josh and, fearing that Eloise was being bullied, pushed the door off the car and came striding over.
"Is it okay?" Hector whispered as he put his arm around Eloise and looked at her face.
Eloise nodded and smiled at him, "It's okay."
Hector looked up at Josh, nodded, and without saying anything, led Eloise towards the car.
Who knew that Josh was so stubborn that he would chase after me, exclaiming, "Eloise, even if you're mad at me, don't mess with things, they're good for your health, put them away, if you don't, I won't let you go today." A little annoyed, Eloise jerked to a halt, only to see Josh running over with his things, looking anxious, and then smiling hastily and curtly when he saw her turn around.
Since just now, she had noticed that Josh was not as aggressive as he had been when she was around him. It was as if their positions had switched. Josh had actually started to please her, and Eloise wasn't convinced. She swept her gaze over the gifts, reached out and took them, then got into the car without a word, tossing the gifts into the car without another glance.
But Josh was relieved, as long as the stuff was accepted and nothing else, he didn't push it anymore.
The car pulled away in front of Josh and he stood still, looking at the car's buttocks with some frustration until he could no longer see it, before turning around and slowly moving on.
