Love Comes To Me
Chapter 495: lit. people rebelling and friends deserting

The housekeeper panicked and hurriedly asked, "Is the patient going to have a life-threatening condition?"

"It's hard to say, so we need to have the family's consent before we can do the operation, otherwise we can't be held responsible for any accidents in the hospital."

The housekeeper was in a state of sorrow at his words; now that Agnes was nowhere to be found, and even Ela had disappeared, he really didn't know what immediate family Josh had left. Suddenly a face flashed before his eyes, Eloise!

Yes, Eloise is also Josh's daughter, so it must be possible to replace her.

With that in mind the housekeeper dialed Eloise's number directly.

Eloise was at home at the moment, nursing her baby, when suddenly her mobile phone rang.

Looking at the unfamiliar number flashing on the screen, the first thought is that I don't want to pay attention to it.

But somehow she managed to pick up the phone.

Into my ears came the anxious voice of the butler.

"Miss Eloise, please also come to the Wyoming Hospital, sir he is critically ill."

Hearing the butler's words, Eloise couldn't help but be a little confused, Josh was critically ill?

How is this possible? He has always loved his life.

Thinking about it, Eloise still didn't quite believe the butler's words and replied in a cold voice.

"Uncle Butler, if this is Josh's trick, I'm not going to go, not to mention that I don't want anything to do with him right now."

Seeing her disbelief, the butler handed the phone directly to the doctor who stepped aside.

"I'm a doctor from Wai Man Hospital and the patient in the emergency room is now critically ill, so if you're a family member of the patient, you'd better come."

The words went on and the butler continued, "Miss Eloise, there is no one with Monsieur now, Madame is missing and Miss Agnes is even more unknown. The doctor says that Monsieur is critically ill and must be signed by his family and there is really nothing more I can do."

The butler's voice was laced with sobs and Eloise had to believe it.

Eloise froze when she learned that Josh was really sick.

As much as she resented Josh, she couldn't stand by and watch him die like that.

"I'll be there now."

Eloise hung up the phone, packed up briefly and was on her way out.

Just in time to meet Mrs Matriarch coming out of the room, she saw that Eloise's face didn't look very good and hastened to ask, "Eloise, what's wrong?" "Mom, ... my father he's critically ill ... now I need to sign ..."

Although she did not want to call him the sacred word father, Eloise said it anyway.

Mrs Matriarch also froze for a moment, followed by a reassuring, "Don't worry Eloise, it's going to be fine, I'm calling Hector, be safe when you go over there." Eloise nodded her head in response and left.

Sitting in the car, Eloise's heart was not in the right place.

Josh is to blame for what has happened to him.

The daughter and mistress he had doted on for half his life had both betrayed him and left.

When he was critically ill, it was she, his unpopular daughter, who was there to take care of him.

It's ironic to say the least.

Tears were streaming down the corners of her eyes, and Eloise didn't know whether it was resignation or heartache.

The car soon drove up to the hospital and Eloise headed straight for the emergency room.

The butler had been waiting here, anxious.

One minute's delay is one more danger for Josh.

Turning his head for a moment he saw Eloise and waved her over in a hurry.

Eloise came to the butler and enquired, "How is he?"

"The doctor said the operation won't go ahead inside without the family's signature, and it's a bad situation." The housekeeper said worriedly. Just then, the door inside opened again and the doctor came out.

"Is the patient's family here yet or not?"

Eloise sniffed and hurried over, replying, "I'm the patient's daughter."

The doctor looked at Eloise, took a list from behind him and handed it to her.

"Here is the sickness notice, if you see no objection, sign here."

Eloise trembled as she took the document, which clearly stated that Josh was critically ill.

Without daring to hesitate too much, Eloise signed her name with the family.

Then came the wait and the lights came back on in the emergency room.

Sitting in the hospital gallery, Eloise realised that Josh was really sick.

Eloise can't tell you what it's like to think back on all the things that have happened over the years.

In short, Eloise is now vulnerable.

After a while, Hector arrived at the hospital.

Eloise is seen sitting alone on a bench, looking very delicate.

Hector stepped forward and took her in his arms, holding her hands in his.

"It's okay, Eloise, I'm here for everything." He whispered soothingly.

Wrapped in his scent, Eloise was only much more at ease.

"Hector, I think God is really unfair sometimes, why should I have to take care of his aftermath when I've never gotten anything." Eloise's voice was muffled, lamenting.

Such thoughts haunted her and kept her from coming out of that emotion.

She really felt it was unfair, after all the hurt she had suffered, all from the man in the ward.

Hector sniffed and tightened his arms around her even more, softly reassuring her.

"Eloise, let's just say we did a good deed, Josh got what he deserved now that he's in the public eye, and you still have me."

It's not that Eloise doesn't understand what Hector is saying, it's just that she can't get past her own heart.

At the end, Eloise sighed and said, "This is something I couldn't care less about even if I didn't want to, after all, his blood still runs in my body, how can I be that kind of ungrateful son or daughter." Knowing how hard it was for her, Hector's heart ached.

Thinking that she was still pregnant, Hector asked, "Eloise, if you trust me, you can leave this to me, you don't have to get involved in this."

Eloise thought about it and then nodded in agreement, fully confident that Hector could handle it well.

After spending some time in the hospital, the two left together.

When they returned home, Mrs Matriarch saw that they were not in a good mood and approached them to ask about it.

Hector gave a brief account of what had happened and Mrs Matriarch was instantly furious.

She also felt extra sorry for Eloise, who used to have a really hard time.

It was her misfortune to be in such a family.

Mrs Matriarch took Eloise's hand and said, "Eloise, you should stay away from such family members in future, lest you are persecuted by them again one day." Listening to Mrs Matriarch, Eloise nodded her head in agreement.

"Mom, I know, I just want to be with Hector, and Solomon right now, and run our family well, and I'll stay out of everything else."

Mrs Matriarch was also very relieved to hear her words.

Seeing that the atmosphere was somewhat strained, Rupert stepped forward.

Putting her arm around Mrs Matriarch, she said, "Come on, Mum, let's not talk about the unhappiness, let's just concentrate on the wedding preparations."
