Love Comes To Me
Chapter 499: False alarm

The flight took over ten hours and by the time she arrived in South Africa, Eloise was so sleepy and tired that her eyes were closed when she got off the plane.

Hector had his arm firmly around her waist the whole time, so Eloise had no problem not looking at the road.

By the time she was a little more awake, she was sitting in the limo and Eloise rubbed her eyes and pounced on the window, "Wow, it's beautiful!"

By the time they arrived it was nightfall, and South Africa is world famous for its night scenery.

Hector was quick to wrap his arms around her and press against her body before she got too excited and hurt herself.

Eloise lunged and scrambled for the window, blaming Hector for her confinement, muttering something unknown to her, and Hector was cold: "I'll let you go if you behave."

At that, Eloise immediately and obediently stayed still, gesturing with her eyes for Hector to let go.

As a result, as soon as Hector let go, she immediately ran to the side furthest away from him, having just been sleeping in his arms.

The arm is empty but one of Hector's hearts is still full.

When Eloise sees something good, she always thinks of sharing it with him. She turns around, points happily outside and says to Hector, "Hector, look."

With her clear eyebrows, soulful smile and sparkling eyes, Hector doesn't need to see the night scenery, the most beautiful scenery in the world is the person in front of her.

The two cuddled together, looking out of the window at the exotic night scene, both content.

Pregnant after all, Eloise slept through the journey from the airport to the hotel again without fail.

Hector got out of the car with the girl in his arms and entered the luxury hotel to check in, a tall, cool man with an air of aristocracy, but treating the girl in his arms with the utmost care.

The following day, Eloise wakes up and Hector has ordered breakfast over. Attracted by the smell, Eloise rushes to the food without even putting on her shoes, having fallen asleep last night and not eating dinner, her stomach is now almost empty.

Hector was so worried that he chased after her and told her to slow down, squatting on the floor with her shoes to put them on.

Eloise feeds him a delicious cupcake and with crooked, smiling eyes asks, "Is it good?"

Mr Hector, who doesn't like sweets: "..."

It can be hard to swallow the cupcake with difficulty and to compliment it twice against your will.

In the afternoon, Hector received a phone call, returned a few words in English, then hung up and turned his head to see Eloise looking at him curiously and asking, "Are you going out?"

Having slept the whole way, a certain pregnant woman had completely forgotten the real purpose of the trip.

Hector came over, smoothed her hair and said, "Well, there's a trip to the mines, you don't have to go, call the guest room if you need anything."

Eloise disapproved, "I can go with you."

Hector looked at her stomach and coaxed, "Yeah, you can, but our baby's working too hard."

"All right." Eloise reluctantly agreed.

Hector was out and Eloise woke up from a nap, bored, and turned on the TV just as a local accident was being shown, only to see large chunks of rock collapsing and people's shrieks intermingling with the sound of the collapse, the desperation of which could be felt through the screen.

The reporter stated in a serious tone the location of the accident and Eloise stood up with a start and looked around for her mobile phone.

She had heard in a trance from Hector the name of the Rogers family mine, this one on TV.

Eloise pressed on with her fears and called Hector's number, but unfortunately the call was not answered at all.

Her heart was about to stop beating as she watched the images continue on the TV, filled with the worst possible scenario, could Hector have been buried underneath and that's why the phone couldn't be reached? Please, get back to me quickly.

Eloise's eyes, I don't know when, have quietly flushed.

Eloise kept calling seven or eight times, all unanswered, and her fear peaked as she decisively changed her shoes and headed out the door.

Pull the door open only to replace someone guarding the outside.

"Ma'am, are you going out?" The man outside asked politely, and Eloise recognised him as the driver who had picked them up at the airport yesterday, an Englishman.

Eloise asked urgently as if she had caught a lifeline, "Do you know where Hector is, there's been an accident at the mine and I can't reach him." Her voice took on a trill.

The man had also seen the news but was not at all nervous and said reassuringly, "Don't worry, ma'am, it's the mine next door, not the boss one."

Eloise's heart was still on edge, "Really, but he's around and it would be dangerous too, would it involve the Rogers family's mine?"

"That, I don't think so." The man said uncertainly.

Eloise was relieved: "No, I'm going over to him, you take me there."

She can't stay here for a minute, and she can't rest easy without seeing Hector.

The man was in a difficult position. The boss had repeatedly explained that he had to take care of his wife and if she needed anything, he had to meet it, but in the present scene, he did not know what to do. Eloise was so emotional that her stomach followed suit and she was vaguely uncomfortable.

"Madam, let's wait at the hotel for a while, the boss might already be on his way back." The man tried to persuade.

Eloise covered her stomach, her face showing pain, but still persisted.

Just as the man was at a loss for words, the lift doors opened and a tall figure came striding out, quickly coming up to the two men.

"Eloise, where are you not feeling well?" Hector's handsome face sank slightly as he held Eloise's shoulders, his tone slightly urgent.

"Hector, you're okay!" Eloise jumped into Hector's arms at once, she was terrified, her whole body Eloise shaking, her thin arms around Hector's neck, her voice tinged with sobs.

Hector patted her back one by one, softly reassuring, "I'm fine, don't be afraid."

The two of them spent some time in the doorway, and finally it was Hector who was really worried about Eloise's condition and wanted to take her to the hospital, where Eloise, with red eyes, shook her head vigorously. Hector had no choice but to send the man away and took Eloise inside, sitting her down on the sofa while he crouched beside her and asked seriously, "Eloise, is everything really all right? You've just been covering your stomach." Eloise's emotions had calmed down by now and said with a bit of an afterthought, "I was too nervous when I saw the news and I'm fine now."

After a pause, she began to complain, "Why can't you get through on your phone, I've called you multiple times and I'm worried sick."

"I'm sorry, my phone was broken and I headed back immediately after it collapsed over there." But to his surprise, he was still a step too late and Hector felt guilty for causing her so much worry.

Eloise murmured, "It's good you're okay, and it's okay if you don't answer my calls, but you're not allowed to go anymore."
