Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 498: You asked for it
Just as Eloise and Hector were about to depart for South Africa, Josh came to his senses.
The hospital put the call through to Eloise's mobile, and when she listened, she calmly said to the other side, "I'm coming over now." Hector had to attend to some business and left for the office early in the morning, so Eloise took a taxi to the hospital on her own. In the ward, Josh got up to get a glass of water from the bedside, but ended up accidentally knocking it over.
"Don't you move, I'll clean up." Eloise walked over quickly.
Josh was surprised, delighted and a little overwhelmed by the sudden appearance of the man.
Eloise looked down and swept the glass shards into the bin, grabbed another glass and got Josh a glass of water, "Drink up."
"Hey, good." Josh took it, his hand shaking a little, and Eloise just pretended not to see it.
Watching Josh drink his glass of water in one gulp, still a little unfulfilled, made Eloise feel a little more uncomfortable.
Josh has a wife and a daughter, and by now he doesn't even have someone to pour water at his bedside.
She silently took the empty glass, poured another and placed it where Josh could reach it. Then she said, "I'll get in touch later and get you an escort."
"Okay, I'll pay for it." Josh said hastily as if he was afraid of giving her trouble.
Eloise is non-committal.
Josh also looked a little rattled, wanting to say something, and off-kilter.
It was Eloise's attitude as usual: "How do you feel now?"
"It's fine, you don't have to worry." Josh was busy saying back.
Eloise wasn't really that worried when she saw him wake up.
Josh's injuries are not as he says they are, nothing at all, and you can tell by the miserable look on his face that he is not so much disabled as he is going to suffer a little.
She had asked the doctor before coming and he told him that he would recover quickly with a good rest.
Hopefully the pain will teach him a lesson, Eloise thought calmly.
At this moment, Josh's heart is also full of mixed feelings. He never expected that the last person to be at her bedside would be Eloise, whom he had never thought of, and that none of the two women he had loved all his life would be there. According to what he has done over the years, he has nothing to say even if Eloise doesn't come.
"Eloise, Daddy's sorry." The more Josh thought back on the past, the more guilt he felt.
Eloise looked unchanged, as if she hadn't heard, and said to herself, "Don't go back yet after you've recovered, that house of yours is no longer safe, go and stay somewhere else for a few days."
Josh looked at his bemused daughter and his heart, swollen with guilt, calmed down a little as he regained his usual composure and composure and responded, "Good."
Eloise added, "Ela's brother has been arrested by the police and won't be out for a while, so don't worry about him bothering you again."
Hearing about Ela and her brother reignited Josh's easily calmed heart.
Not hearing his answer, Eloise didn't care and gave Josh a complicated look, "After you get out of the hospital, you, take care of yourself."
There was only so much she could say and do.
As to whether Josh listens to it or not, that's up to him.
Josh was mortified and buried his head like a child who had done something wrong, Eloise tried to ignore the little sourness in her heart and stood up, "I'm off." "So soon?" Josh blurted out.
He knew that it was a surprise that Eloise had come to see him and that it would be too much to ask her to stay and look after him.
Only, he had so much more to say to her, and the thirsty look in his eyes was such that even a blind man could feel it.
"Eloise, I ..."
"There's no need to say anything, I'm happy now." Eloise interrupted him, coldly.
Josh's expression became extremely painful for a moment.
"I have to fly to South Africa this afternoon, and I have to pack my things back." Eloise couldn't be bothered to explain after all.
Josh swallowed all his words and forced a smile, saying dryly, "Oh, well, have a good trip."
Eloise nodded casually, pulled the door open and left without a second thought.
Behind her, Josh, looking at her disappearing back, the light in his eyes darkened and a bitter smile pulled at the corners of his mouth as he whispered into the air, "You asked for it." Eloise exited the hospital, pulled out her phone and picked up the call that had been vibrating since a while ago, "Hector ..."
"I'm in front of the hospital, waiting for you."
A low, magnetic voice instantly soothes Eloise's low spirits, and with a smile on her lips, she looks around and soon sees Hector's dominant and conspicuous limousine.
"I see you." She walked over towards the car.
Hector gets out of the car and pulls the door open for her, only to have Eloise hug him from behind in a flash. He pauses for a moment and presses his big hand firmly against Eloise's. For the first time, Eloise was so bold in front of the hospital where people were coming and going.
She buried her whole face in Hector's back and thought to herself, heaven forbid, that Hector smelled so good.
"What's that perfume you're wearing, it smells so good." Eloise said dizzily.
Hector turned and reversed his position, clasping Eloise in his arms and gently cupping her tiny chin: "You don't know what I use after living with me for so long, eh?" Eloise spat out her tongue and said deliberately, "Didn't notice."
Hector laughed in exasperation and whispered in her ear, "What do you think about all day when you're not paying attention to your man."
Eloise's face quickly flushed and she pushed Hector and yelled, "It's hot, it's hot, get in the car."
Well, if you can't say it, you start to play hard to get.
On the way home, Eloise looked out of the window with a light smile on her lips, and Hector was quietly relieved to see that she was in a good mood.
Just now at the hospital entrance, her head was just about written in low pressure.
What Hector doesn't know is that Eloise is in a good mood, all because of him.
No more upset at the sight of him.
When she returned home, Mrs Matriarch greeted her and seemed to have something to say, and was dumbfounded to see Eloise unexpectedly in a good mood. Eloise smiled and said, "Mum, I'm off to pack."
"Yes, go on, go on." Mrs Matriarch replied reflexively, and after seeing Eloise briskly up the stairs, looked at her own son and asked, "Is Eloise in such a good mood?" Rogers family people know that Eloise is down for a while after she has gone to see the Thompson family people.
"It's okay." Hector spared the words.
Mrs Matriarch gave him a blank look, well, there was nothing to be asked from her son, but as long as the person was not affected.
They're all Rogers family now, so they should be happy and not upset about people who don't deserve it.
In the afternoon, Hector and Eloise boarded a plane to South Africa.
