Love Comes To Me
Chapter 522: Three Hearts and Two Minds

The bustling city fades away and the car slowly comes to a stop near a villa.

The old man retired and did not like to live in the city with his family.

Instead, they bought a villa in the suburbs with stronger security facilities.

There are also old friends who worked together in this area, and old friends often sit around playing chess and drinking tea together, which is also very comfortable. Although the old man is no longer in charge of the world, he is still a highly respected presence.

Stepping out into the night, Hector walked up to the main gate.

"What people?"

Within moments, the doorman guarding the door came forward alertly.

When he saw him, he quickly recognised Hector, "Ah, you are Fletcher Godbold's grandson, aren't you? Come in."

Hector nodded towards the doorman and inquired, "Where is my grandfather, is he asleep?"

Fletcher Godbold was an extraordinary figure in his youth and, although now retired, is still highly respected.

The doorman had met Hector several times before and knew that Fletcher Godbold was very fond of his grandson, so naturally he did not dare to be rude.

Pointing to a courtyard where the lights were still on, he said, "The old man is inside studying antiques, so you can just go in."

Hector nods and walks towards the lights.

When he knocked on the door and entered, Fletcher Godbold saw him with a delighted look on his face.

The two men hadn't seen each other for some time, so Fletcher Godbold took off his old glasses and walked over to him and asked, "It's Hector, what brings you here?" Hector stepped forward to support him and called out to his grandfather.

The two grandchildren sit down in chairs and chat face to face.

"How's the family?"

The old man's eyes narrowed with a smile, and his hard face was covered with tenderness.

"They're all fine, don't you worry." Hector replied.

The old man nodded his head in relief.

"That's good, that's good."

After pulling up the family business, he took the initiative and asked Hector, "Say, what's the matter with you coming over here in the middle of the night?"

Hector was no longer subtle and told the story of the recent events.

The relationship between Catherine and the E is highlighted.

Fletcher Godbold listened on, and his face firmed up a few notches.

Hector didn't say much, but from his descriptions Fletcher Godbold also sensed the ups and downs and the seriousness of the situation.

This grandson of his has always acted in a thunderous manner and has never asked anyone for advice.

This time, he must have had some concerns in mind when he came to him overnight.

After half a moment of silence, the old man stroked his beard and said with understanding, "You are worried that this will be done improperly and cause a dispute between our country and E." "Well, do you have any ideas?"

Hector asked the senior for his opinion.

"You did the right thing in this case, and either way, this woman from E can't be allowed to linger around."

The old man put his hands behind his back and stood up, after a pause he continued, "But you must not act rashly, have your men keep an eye on her first.

It's something I'll get someone to deal with tomorrow in a hurry to replace out what's going on."

Fletcher Godbold coughed lightly twice and said with a serious face, "If the matter is really serious enough to jeopardise relations between the two countries, then I will report it to the top and make a decision at that time." The words are vague and reveal a bit of concern.

Hector stood next to him and sniffed, flicking his lips, "Then I'll trouble Grandpa."

Fletcher Godbold's diplomacy was something Hector had seen before, and although he was a contemporary great scholar, his contacts were unmatched by others.

Coupled with the prestige of the old man, most people did not dare to neglect him, and naturally it was easier to come than Hector.

It is only fitting that such matters should be left to the old man.

Fletcher Godbold patted Hector's hand and scolded with a smile, "What's the trouble, family, what kind of polite words."

Turning his head and seeing the chess board to one side, he asked Hector to play a game with him, to have some fun. Hector saw that the old man was up for it, so he couldn't brush him off.

After nodding his head in agreement, he glanced out into the night, his brow furrowing slightly.

But nothing was said either.

A lamp sways in the cool night air, and the figures of the two grandparents are reflected in the window.

The two sit opposite each other, raising their hands now and then to raise their chess pieces.

"You've grown in this chess game."

The old man raised his hand to move the pawn and crossed the river boundary.

Hector smiled, mobilised his horse and walked a day, responding modestly, "No, I learned it all from you."

Fletcher Godbold beamed with joy and let out a hearty laugh.

In a moment, Fletcher Godbold turned his mind to Eloise, and he asked Hector with concern.

"By the way, is Eloise and the baby okay, so much has happened recently that it should have scared her."

As he spoke, the old man's brow knitted tightly.

He had found Eloise to be a delightful girl and she was so good to Solomon that she treated him as if he were her own.

A girl like this stays with Hector to complement him and he is happy to see it.

When he later heard that Eloise was pregnant, he felt even more strongly that the girl was a blessing to the Rogers family. Hector thinks of Eloise, and a deep emotion covers his brow, and he smiles involuntarily.

"No, she's strong, we've just had a maternity check and the baby is fine, so you don't have to worry too much."

Fletcher Godbold took in his expression and nodded reassuringly.

He added, "Your uncle and cousin will be back from the barracks in a couple of days, so take the time and bring Eloise over.

I haven't seen the girl for a while and I miss her."

"Yes, my grandson remembers."

Hector also gave a heartfelt smile when he heard that his uncle and cousin were coming back.

The men of the Godbold family are leaders in their various professions and are constantly out and about.

As a result, Hector was not able to see his uncle and cousin very often.

It was not easy for them to come back with a holiday this time.

Twenty minutes later, the game was winding down.

At the crucial moment, Hector made a wrong move and let the old man win.

Fletcher Godbold saw Hector's distractedness and knocked him on the head.

"You're a child, and you're still tripping over your head next term."

Looking out at the night, it became instantly clear what was going on.

With a big wave of his palm, he said to him, "All right, let's not catch you keeping this lousy old man of mine company, hurry back to your daughter-in-law and children." Hector's face remained impassive even when he was poked at the heart of the matter.

He stood up and nodded slightly towards the old man.

"Goodbye Grandpa, you have an early night."

When he came out, the evening breeze was a little chilly and Hector wrapped his shirt tightly around him.

It was late at night when we drove home from Fletcher Godbold's.

The sky shows a little fish-belly white and grey.

The birds on the trees awoke to the sound of his footsteps and stood chanting in the treetops.

Hector arched his eyebrows downwards and waved a hand at the tree, "Go!"

And then gingerly pushed the door open.

Inside the bedroom, there was no sign of Eloise and Hector wasn't surprised in the slightest.
