Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 533: Trapped
It was not a nice thing to hear from Josh either.
He stroked Agnes' head and said heartily, "Of course, Dad will go and prepare a meal for you, wait here ah." "Hmm."
Agnes gives a sweet smile.
The smile faded into a grim smile after Josh turned into the kitchen.
She looked down and fished a small bottle out of her arms...
Agnes stood up from the couch clutching the vial of stuff she had gotten from Marian.
She clenched it into a fist shape and clutched the object in her hand.
"Dad, is there a drink in the house, no I'll go out and get one."
She probed in the direction of the kitchen and called out.
Josh, who was scrambling around the kitchen washing dishes, sniffed and shouted at the top of his lungs, "There should be some in the fridge, check it out."
At the end of the sentence, Agnes was already standing in front of the fridge.
She curled her lips, opened the fridge door and took out one of the bottles.
After scanning around to make sure Josh wouldn't come out, she quickly unscrewed the bottle and poured herself a drink first.
And then the bottle hidden in his hand, mouth to mouth, and the mouth of the drink.
With the movement of her hands, the clear liquid was poured into the side of the drink.
Putting away the rest of the second half of the bottle of liquid, Agnes wiped the vain sweat from her forehead.
The cap of the drink bottle was then tightened, cradled in his arms and shaken vigorously.
Having done so, she breathed a sigh of relief.
Pretend nothing is happening and wait at the table early.
Thirty minutes later Josh sautéed a few dishes and brought them to the table.
Father and daughter sit opposite each other.
Agnes' eyes swept seemingly over the phone Josh had set aside, her bright red lips pursed.
Josh saw her staring and raised his eyebrows upwards in confusion and greeted her, "Agnes, what are you staring at? Why don't you eat? Try some of Dad's cooking." At that Agnes curled up a smile to hide her inner thoughts.
Sweetly, she responded and moved her chopsticks to pick up the food.
"How was it? Is it salty enough?"
Watching her movements, Josh had a kind smile on his face and looked at Agnes expectantly.
The meal was a little bland in the mouth.
But Agnes was not in the mood to taste the dish at the moment and swallowed it carelessly before speaking up and praising it, "Delicious!"
Josh nodded in satisfaction and busied himself with his daughter's food.
"Eat more if it's good."
Agnes kept a stiff smile on her face as her eyes grazed over the drink placed next to her.
She got up abruptly, picked up the bottle and poured it into an empty glass and pushed it in front of Josh.
"Dad, it's not easy for us to reunite as father and daughter, so there will be fewer opportunities to meet like this in the future. If you can't drink, then we'll take drinks instead of wine. Have a toast, as a tribute to your daughter."
When he heard this, Josh's nose tingled and his throat was sore and he couldn't help but feel sad too.
He took the drink without question and lifted it.
Agnes was heartened and took her own glass to touch.
As he lowered his head to drink, his eyes left a little gap to look at Josh.
The corners of his lips could not help but rise when he glanced at him and saw that he did indeed drink his drink in.
But Josh was blissfully unaware that anything was wrong, after putting down his glass.
He gestured to the plate of vegetables and admonished Agnes, "Agnes, eat more vegetables, you're too skinny."
Agnes nodded her head in agreement.
After a minute has passed, the effects of the medicine slowly take effect.
Josh's vision blurred and he just felt the sky spinning.
"Strange, why is my head so dizzy."
He propped his hand on the tabletop, pressed his temples, and tweaked. murmured.
Agnes pretended to be concerned and got up and walked towards him.
"Dad, are you okay..."
At the sound of the voice Josh glanced up, and in his vision, Agnes' figure became more and more blurred.
It is as if there are several overlapping together.
Not long after, Josh blacked out and collapsed on the table.
Agnes would have smiled at this.
The ecstasy she had put in her drink had worked!
After making sure Josh was unconscious, Agnes retrieved Josh's phone and easily unlocked Josh's lock screen password. Flipping through the address book, I found Eloise's phone number.
Edited a text message in Josh's tone and sent it.
'Eloise, Dad is feeling a bit unwell, his head is spinning, I don't know what's wrong, can you come and see me?'
After sending the text, she tossed her phone to the side.
Take out your own mobile phone and make a call.
"It's done, you can come in now."
Speaking into the other end, she hung up the phone.
A few minutes later there was a knock at the front door.
Agnes walked over to open the door and four burly men followed her in.
"Let's carry him to his room first." Agnes directed the four men to carry Josh away from the dining room table.
And on the other end, Eloise was surprised to receive a text message from Josh.
She frowned at first, and when she read the contents, her eyebrows knitted into a straight line.
Dizzy, it's not the aftermath of a car accident, is it?
She was a little hesitant.
After dwelling on it for a few moments, she sighed heavily.
A slight movement of the fingertips replied to a message.
'I know, stay at home and don't move around, I'll come over to you.'
Thinking about where Josh now lives is a bit remote and he has no one around to look after her.
If she hadn't gone, I'm afraid no one would have known that Josh had collapsed there.
No matter how bad he was in the past, he was still her father.
And since he had fallen ill to save her life, Eloise couldn't bear to ignore him.
After a quick word with Mrs Matriarch, she hurried off.
Getting out of the car, she walked quickly in the direction of the house.
"Why is the door open?" From a distance, I saw that the door of the small house was open.
She muttered in wonder and walked into the front yard.
And the people in the room held their breath as her footsteps approached.
Agnes hides behind the door, a soaked handkerchief in her hand.
She could clearly hear her heartbeat coming from her chest, a fast-paced, pounding, jumbled beat.
It's the excitement that causes it.
She gestured to the man hiding on the other side of the door, signalling him to move at any moment. "Dad, Dad? Where are you? I'm here, let's get you to the hospital now."
Eloise's hands were on the top edge of the door, probing inside.
Just go and look for Josh.
One foot inside and in view, Josh was nowhere to be seen.
She frowned strangely, her eyes sweeping to the floor and spotting a leather shoe.
What is clear is that there is someone hiding behind the door.
And what can be determined is that this man is not Josh.
Her heart stuttered and cold sweat broke out on her palms.
Realising that something was wrong, he turned and tried to run at once.
But the man behind the door reacted even faster than she did.
The moment she drew back her foot, the burly man hiding behind the door stepped forward with a flourish, grabbed her by the arm and dragged the man towards the house. Eloise's momentary pupils dilate and she struggles desperately.
Yet the disparity in power between men and women leaves her with nowhere to run.
She shrieked, "Let go of me, help... um."
Suddenly a pair of slender hands appeared before her eyes and the next moment her mouth and nose were covered by something wet.
