Love Comes To Me
Chapter 598: Who was just with

"See you then."

Eloise raised her eyes, waved gently at Hector and headed for the Darlington family gate. The scene fell on Rowson's eyes and only stung to the core.

He frowned tightly, a little anger tickling his eyes, and headed for the door beyond.

A moment after seeing Rowson, Eloise's heart stuttered and she subconsciously looked back.

But Hector's car had already left in the dust and she couldn't help but sigh with relief.

If these two were to face each other, there would inevitably be another bloodbath.

With a sombre expression, Rowson grabbed Eloise by the wrist and led her into the home.

Opening his mouth, he questioned, "Where have you been, why aren't you answering your phone, and who were you just with?"

Eloise hissed lightly at the pain coming from her wrist.

Holding back the pain, she looked calmly at Rowson and replied without hiding, "I was negotiating with JS Group earlier, so I didn't answer the phone. Sorry, what you just saw was indeed Hector, he saw it was getting a bit late so he gave me a lift back."

Eloise briefly explains the causes and consequences, in a flat tone.

Rowson listened but his face grew darker and darker.

"It's that simple?"

He looked at Eloise suspiciously, with an expression of disbelief.

Eloise's face paled slightly at Rowson's questioning.

The voice couldn't help but sink a few notches, "What do you mean by that? You don't believe I'm meeting with him to talk business? This mission is about the future business of our winery. Not to mention that today is a long-awaited appointment, so ask him if you don't believe me."

At Eloise's change of heart, Rowson realised that he had gone a little too far in his tone and hastened to collect himself. Pressing his brow and shaking his head slightly, he said, "No, I didn't mean it like that, I believe you."

He was just annoyed at Hector's behaviour; the man was clearly faking it.

Anything to get Eloise back!

Eloise hadn't wanted to argue with Rowson and her face lightened up considerably.

"I'll go up first then."

With those words, Eloise headed upstairs.

Before he could take a few steps, though, Rowson had a grip on his wrist.

"Eloise, let's go out tonight, just the two of us, it's been a long time since we've been out together."

Rowson's eyes were serious, looking intently at her, a blaze tickling in them.

Never before had Rowson been so naked. Naked with such a look on his face.

Eloise stalled slightly, surprised, and felt a surge of pressure for no apparent reason.

Looking at Rowson like this is a bit strange.

She drew her arm back without moving, thought for a moment and then refused Rowson with slightly downcast eyes.

"Sorry, I've got some business to finish and I need to work late tonight."

She lifted the briefcase in her hand and looked at Rowson with an apologetic look in her eyes.

It's true what it says, even though it rejects Rowson's rhetoric.

The contract with JS Group is something she needs to get done as soon as possible.

A haze fell under Rowson's eyes as he spoke in a low tone, "Never mind then, it's fine, you get on with it."

Watching Eloise turn and head up the stairs, her heart filled with frustration.

At night, Eloise finally got the contract done.

After closing the computer, she gingerly went into Sweety's room and mother and daughter cuddled.

In the dead of night, the only light on in the Darlington family is in the study.

Mrs Darlington pushed the door in and frowned.

His own son was clutching a bottle of wine, his face slightly drunk, with the look of a man who had taken advantage of the wine to dispel his sorrow.

She walked over and confiscated Rowson's bottle, inquiring in surprise, "Rowson, why are you drinking so much, what's going on?"

"Eloise and her ex-husband met up and it kind of bothered me to see them being intimate."

Rowson's brow was as dishevelled as it could be.

In fact, you don't have to guess that it's because of Eloise.

Mrs Darlington sighed heavily and went down to get a bowl of sober soup up for Rowson.

After drinking it, Rowson felt much better and his face eased up.

"It's hard to be right, but it's not helpful for you to be dishevelled, and if you don't want Eloise to be taken away from you, you'll step up your speed and chase someone else, got it?" Before she left, Mrs Darlington spoke with great interest.

"Well, got it."

Rowson nodded his head in response, his desire to win tickled.

The following morning was bright and sunny.

The new day has covered up all the gloom and unhappiness of last night.

When Rowson and Eloise meet again, they look as calm as if nothing had happened.

The family dined together and Rowson said to Eloise before he left for work, "Eloise, are you free today, I'll book a restaurant. Let's have a meal together, just to mark our third anniversary of knowing each other, after all we haven't really had a meal for two."

He had a genial smile on his face and his eyes were too bright to resist.

Eloise was already upset about turning him down last night.

At this point, thinking that there was really nothing to do today, he nodded his head in agreement.

"OK, you arrange it, I'll have time."

Rowson smiled lightly at his words, the starry glow in his eyes thickening.

"Then it's a deal!"

As Mrs Darlington looked on, she was secretly pleased for her son.

Not long after Rowson left, Eloise also got up from the table.

Grabbing his briefcase, he hurried to the office.

A meeting was called as soon as we arrived at the office and the contract for the partnership with JS Group gradually became complete.

In the afternoon, Eloise rushed to JS Group with the revised contract in hand.

When she reached the reception desk, Eloise said warmly to the receptionist, "Hello, please replace Mr Hector."

The receptionist asked her with a polite smile, "Do you have an appointment?"

"Sorry, I came in a hurry and forgot, but he said he could come to him anytime, so, why don't you give the president's office a call, my name is Jiang, you can help inform him." Eloise responded with a smile.

The staff member scanned Eloise half-heartedly and, after a moment's hesitation, called out.

The phone was answered by Thomas, and on hearing the lady named Jiang, he immediately told someone not to be slow, he was on his way down, and then hung up the phone.

The receptionist froze in place when he heard that Thomas was coming down himself and couldn't resist sizing up Eloise several times.

The question arose in his heart, what was this woman's origin that made their always calm and steady Special Assistant Gu so excited?

"What's wrong? He's not available?"

Eloise asked uncomfortably.

"No no, you wait here and someone will be with you shortly."

The tone of the receptionist's voice was several times more respectful at once, which puzzled Eloise a little.

Within moments, she saw someone walking straight towards her.

Eloise instantly recognised the assistant who was with Hector and greeted him in a friendly manner.

"Hello, I've come to talk about the contract."
