Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 608: Shouldn't break them up
The following day, Mrs Darlington got up early, told no one and sneaked into JS House.
After waiting at the door for a long time, her eyes finally locked on a Rolls-Royce that had just arrived.
A man with a handsome face slowly walked down from the car.
In the middle of a circle of people, he immediately caught the eye.
The man at the door greeted the president and then helped to park the car.
It looks like this man must be the Hector that his son is talking about
So Mrs Darlington took a giant leap forward and reached out to stop Hector's advance.
"Mr Hector is it, I'm Rowson's mother, let's talk."
Hector frowned slightly as he looked at the French noblewoman who had suddenly burst out in front of him.
She spoke fluent Chinese and Rowson's eyes grew deep when his name came up.
The subordinate, seeing a stop, tried to pull Mrs Darlington away and was stopped by Hector.
He scanned Mrs Darlington's face, which bore a slight resemblance to Rowson's, and gave a slight nod.
"Come with me."
With these words, he led her towards the building.
When he entered the office, Hector put down the things in his hands without a moment's hesitation and asked in a flat tone, "What would you like to drink, tea or coffee?"
Mrs Darlington looked around and coldly declined, "No, I'll have a few words and then I'll go."
"Make a pot of tea and come over."
Barking orders to the inner circle, Hector looked flatly at Mrs Darlington.
When Mrs Darlington saw how politely Hector treated her guests, she had no place to vent her frustration.
Thomas brought the tea into the office and then left in good taste.
Hector poured a cup of tea and placed it in front of Mrs Darlington and asked in a calm voice, "What do you want to say?"
When he spoke, Mrs Darlington got straight to the point and said, "Mr Hector, I would ask you to leave my daughter-in-law alone, I know you and Eloise may have a past. I know you and Eloise may have had a past, but it's in the past and she doesn't remember you now, so why do you have to come over here and disrupt our lives?"
Mrs Darlington gritted her teeth and poured out all the thoughts that were on her mind.
The words drifted by with a bit of déjà vu.
A sudden hint of mockery tickled Hector's bland face; these two mothers and sons were saying really similar things.
"Why should I do what you want when you open and close your mouths and tell me to leave?"
A cold chill suddenly swept over his body and Hector's eyes turned sharp.
It was like a thick fog gathering under his eyes that could not be dispersed, his expression was gloomy and his tone unconsciously sharpened.
Mrs Darlington was taken aback by his sudden change of aura and her face hardened a few notches.
But still raising his voice, he said, "Just because my son has been with Eloise for these three years, her life was saved by Rowson, and it was Rowson who was with her for three years.
If it hadn't been for our family, she might have been gone from this world! Now that Eloise has managed to stabilise, you shouldn't have come over and disturbed our otherwise uneventful life, let alone broken them up."
As a mother, still protective, she selfishly wants to help her son keep Eloise.
Hector sneered, his eyes turning deep.
A moment later, he spoke, his voice cold and pale.
"Heh, Rowson was only with her for three years, and I was with her all her life before that! You tell me to pity you all, but who will pity me?
Who knows what I've been through these past three years? Her disappearance has tormented me for three years, and what do you know about the pain of being separated from your wife?"
Hector's tone is heartbreaking, and the look on his face tells you how he's spent the last three years.
He paused and continued, "Yes, I am grateful to you for saving Eloise, a kindness I can repay you with everything I have.
But not Eloise, she is more important to me than my life and I am determined not to let go of her, please go back, Thomas, see her off!"
"You!"
Mrs Darlington blushed for a moment when she saw Hector make a face of farewell.
His words were impeccable and he disliked Mrs Darlington to the point of being speechless.
In the end, it was just a matter of shrugging it off in resentment.
The anger in Mrs Darlington's chest at being blown out of the JS group was long overdue.
When he returned home he also had a grumpy look on his face.
Mr. Darlington Sr saw this and asked her what was going on.
Mrs Darlington pounded the sofa in indignation and added to the experience, complaining to Mr. Darlington Sr: "This Hector is so rude. He's the boss of a big company, and this is how they treat their customers? I am so angry!" Mrs Darlington spoke with righteous indignation and turned to Mr. Darlington Sr for support.
"Don't you think so, old man?"
Mr. Darlington Sr sniffed and put down his magazine and cleared his throat.
After a moment's reflection, he patted Mrs Darlington's hand and interceded, "You can't say that, you were the one who went to the office in the first place.
There's nothing wrong with him saying that, and besides, he and Eloise were married before, and we're outsiders in their relationship, so we can't do anything about it. If you ask me, you should stay out of this and let the kids deal with it themselves."
Mr. Darlington Sr was still sensible and did not speak in favour of his own family, lest the relationship between the two families become even more strained.
The Darlington family will not be doing them any favours when the time comes.
Mrs Darlington's expression became more sombre as she heard Mr. Darlington Sr speak for Hector.
She shook off Mr. Darlington Sr's hand, got up and slammed the pillow hard at Mr. Darlington Sr.
In a harsh tone, he said, "You don't care if I do! If it weren't for the fact that you're working with Hector's company, would you be so supportive of others? This is a matter of my son's lifelong happiness, and I have to take care of it!" Having said that, she turned indignantly and went upstairs.
Mr. Darlington Sr looked at his wife's furious back and shook his head helplessly.
I just hope she doesn't make things worse and worse.
At the company end, Eloise was oblivious to what was happening on the Darlington family side.
At the moment, her eyes are downcast as she attends to official business.
The breeze rolled in and blew her hair from her forehead.
The sunlight hit her tender skin through the sparse shadows of the trees, splashing her already pale skin with some transparency.
Suddenly the phone on her desktop vibrated and she reached for it to see that it was a message from Solomon.
The corners of his lips could not help but lift upwards in a serene smile.
"Mummy, can you come out for a minute? I have something for you."
Her fingertips leapt lightly over the screen as she replied.
"Where are you now?"
Then Solomon sent over a location that showed it was close to her office.
Eloise couldn't help but look surprised as she collected her phone and ran outside.
From a distance, a black commercial vehicle could be seen, with Solomon leaning over kicking a small stone. Seeing her, she rushed over with a smile on her face.
