Love Comes To Me
Chapter 730: Taking Office

At first Mr. Darlington Sr. did not react much and nodded his head.

When he understood what he meant, Mr. Darlington Sr's eyes widened abruptly in surprise and he followed up with an uncertain question, "You said you were coming to the company for an internship?" Rowson nodded.

Mr. Darlington Sr thought he would not be interested in business and did not train him.

After all, Rowson has always focused on the medical side of things.

Looking at a surprised Mr. Darlington Sr, Rowson spoke up and explained, "I don't want to put all the burden on Eloise, it's too tiring for her."

Seeing that he was settled, Mr. Darlington Sr instructed, "Then you will go to work tomorrow, the president's office is still yours, but it is best not to fish for three days."

"Well, I'll go upstairs first then."

In response to a question from Mr. Darlington Sr, Rowson went straight upstairs.

Upstairs, instead of going to the bedroom, he went to the study.

It is definitely important to know enough about the company for the first day of work tomorrow, otherwise it will not only be unconvincing, but may also cause a degree of distress to Eloise. Turning on his computer and sitting in front of it, he intended to start familiarising himself with his own company, but after a while his attention wandered.

Deep eyes stare blankly at the computer screen, hands supporting his chin as his thoughts drift off to who knows where.

Two days ago, Katerina approached him again.

She did not say too much nonsense, but went straight to the point, "Mr. Rowson, I have come to see you for a purpose that I do not need to say much for you to know.

Miss Eloise's medication is supposed to kick in one of these days, and if you haven't thought about it yet, you'll just have to watch Miss Eloise's painful struggle for joy then."

Her tone was light and uninteresting, but her icy eyes were constantly aware of Rowson's look and movements.

After hearing what Katerina had to say, Rowson couldn't help but clench his hands.

He knew that the professor had not yet developed an antidote, and had not even figured out the ingredients of the sample.

According to her words, there was now little time left for Eloise.

Although his face was blue with anger, he nodded slowly for Eloise's sake.

He couldn't bear to look at Eloise as if she were living and dying in front of his eyes.

Seeing Rowson nod, Katerina curled her lips into a smile.

She then spoke, "I'll send you Miss Eloise's medicine without fail, as long as you screw Hector first."

Rowson froze in place without speaking, hands clenched into fists, cheeks clenched.

Katerina had left at some point, and by the time Rowson looked up, it was pitch black all around.

He drank many, many drinks that night, feeling ridiculous and mocked for his own uselessness.

He even looked down on himself for not being able to protect the woman he loved.

His thoughts were interrupted by a knock at the door and he turned his head to look, "Come in."

Eloise pushed her way through the door with a glass of hot milk in her hand.

Her hair was still dripping wet over her shoulders because she had showered.

Rowson couldn't help but look at her in disbelief.

Eloise didn't notice Rowson's look, however, and placed the milk on the table and took a seat opposite him.

"I heard you're going to the office, is that true?"

At the sound of his voice, Rowson withdrew his thoughts and nodded.

He picked up the milk on the table and took a slight sip to hide his earlier loss of temper.

He looked at Eloise, the knot in his throat rolling up and down, "Dad's getting older and it's time for me to take on my responsibilities."

Eloise nodded in agreement with him and stayed in the study for a while longer, seeing Rowson busy with his work, she got up and tiptoed away.

Only after Eloise had gone out did the man turn his head to look at the hidden door, a complex look in his eyes.

Turning her eyes to stare ahead at the spot where Eloise had just sat, as if she were still in the same place, she smiled at her.

Pick up the milk, tilt your head and drink it all.

The time slowly passes and the sky is white with the belly of a fish.

He had been devoting all his energy to medicine for the past few years, so he felt a headache looking at all that company information.

This, coupled with the fact that something was going on in his head, meant that Rowson was unable to sleep all night.

The next morning he was up early.

After washing up, he first went to his study to sort out all the information in his head.

The company's recent key projects have been revisited.

After a quick breakfast, Rowson headed out to the courtyard.

The car had been driven out by the maid and, seeing him come out, the keys were respectfully handed to Rowson.

Taking the keys, Rowson did not stop and drove straight to the office.

When we arrived at the office, the secretary arranged by Mr. Darlington Sr was already waiting at the lift.

Seeing Rowson arrive, she walked up with a pile of information and said decently, "Hello Mr. Rowson, I'm your secretary, you've just started and you can ask me anything you're not sure about." Rowson gave a faint "hmmm" and stepped into the lift on his own.

When he arrived at the office, his secretary had already put all the information, and the itinerary arranged for him, on his desk.

Rowson glanced down at the watch on his wrist; it was half an hour to eight o'clock.

According to the schedule, he has a meeting at eight o'clock.

After scanning through the information on the two available orders, Rowson took the lift to the conference room.

Inside the meeting room, all the major shareholders have arrived.

They murmured about Rowson and the rustling only stopped when Rowson entered.

Rowson took the main seat and introduced himself politely first.

"Hello everyone, I am the newly appointed president Rowson, I am sure you know I have not been exposed to this circle before, but please try to accept me first and I will take our product out into the world." After a brief introduction, there was loud applause from the bottom.

When the applause stopped, Rowson got straight to the point without too many pleasantries, "There are currently two orders we can take."

With that, he asked his secretary to hand out a copy of the information.

Within moments, the otherwise quiet meeting room was abuzz with discussion.

"These are two very large orders and it's simply not going to be easy for us to take them."

"The main thing is still that even if we take just one of these orders, it will take us a long time."

"Our winery may not be at that level of strength."

The murmurs continued and Rowson's brow furrowed slightly.

Listening to the chatter, Rowson wasn't going to respond, and when the noise died down a bit, he got right up.

"It's decided, I'll take care of the orders, but of course I'll ask for your advice if you don't know anything."

With those words, Rowson gathered his materials and walked out.

All those in the meeting room looked at the direction he had left with blank faces.
