Love Comes To Me
Chapter 762: Was that just showing off to me?

Hearing him say that, Thomas sort of came around.

The prince is totally trying to catch a big fish with a long line.

Not daring to delay, it was done immediately.

Here, Eloise and Maryam chatted for a long time before Eloise reluctantly left Rogers Villa.

By the time she returned to the Darlington family, it was eight o'clock in the evening.

Pushing the door in and replaceing the whole mansion dimly lit, Eloise couldn't help but mutter to herself, "What, is there no one home?"

As soon as the words left my mouth, I heard a loud "pop" and the living room light went on.

Only to see Rowson standing with a grim face not far away.

Eloise just swept it away, not noticing the expression on Rowson's face.

After she had changed her shoes and intended to go upstairs, she was intercepted by Rowson directly at the stairs, questioning, "Where have you been?" Hearing the attitude in Rowson's words made Eloise a little angry too, "I'm going to see my mum, what, that's not okay?"

It was as if she was his private property, a feeling that really made her feel a little uncomfortable.

"It's all in the Rogers family these days, isn't it?" Rowson said coldly.

Hearing the thick distrust and possessiveness in his words gave Eloise a headache, "So what if I am? Don't I even have the right to go anywhere anymore?"

At that, Rowson sneered and glanced at Eloise's hand, "I don't want to interfere with your personal freedom, didn't I tell you to stay away from him? Why don't you listen? A man like him is not someone you can mess with." As he spoke, Rowson exhaled as much alcohol as he could into Eloise's nostrils.

Eloise couldn't help but frown and pushed him straight away saying, "You're drunk and I don't want to talk to you about it."

She was about to walk upstairs to her room, but Rowson was one step ahead of her at the door.

Somewhat uncontrollably, I shouted, "I'm not drunk! I just can't stand the sight of you and him having an affair! I'm your fiancé now, what do you want the outside world to think of me in the long run? You can't do this to me." Listening to the words that came out of Rowson's mouth, Eloise's heart went out to her.

She had already spoken to Rowson clearly and plainly.

Rowson also promised well enough to call off the engagement.

If it were not for Mrs Darlington's health, she would probably have moved out of the Darlington family.

How is it that now Rowson has brought up the matter of marriage contracts?

But, looking at him slightly drunk, Eloise couldn't argue with him about this and just looked at him seriously and said, "Rowson, I appreciate you taking care of me in the past, but I'm sorry, I really can't reciprocate your feelings, I'm sorry... you deserve someone better, and please don't keep wasting your time on me."

With those words, Eloise ignored the exasperated Rowson behind her and went straight back to her room.

Hearing a resounding slamming of the door from Eloise's room, Rowson's sanity returned abruptly.

It took him a moment to realise what he had just said.

Also react to the meaning of Eloise's words.

Thinking back to the look in Eloise's eyes just now, there was more helplessness in them and an avoidance of wanting to argue with him.

Rowson's wine sobered up in a flash.

He received a call from Mrs Darlington while he was still off duty today.

Mrs Darlington told him on the phone about Eloise being picked up by Hector with Sweety a few days before.

What's more, Rowson hadn't seen Eloise for the past few days and at first he didn't think much of it, but after Mrs Darlington said so, he couldn't stand it.

I hate to slap myself right now, why did I just say such a thing.

The image that had been softened a little in her mind had now all but collapsed.

The next morning, Rowson was waiting at Eloise's door, knowing she would be out again.

Just as Eloise was getting up, she received a call from Maryam.

Since Maryam's meeting with Eloise, she has recovered quickly and has been able to get out of bed and walk for the past few days.

"Eloise, if you're not too busy at work today, come back and walk with Mum."

Maryam's kind voice came through the phone and Eloise's hands gave a start as she was packing up her things.

Thinking that the Darlington Group didn't seem to need anything in particular today, he said softly, "Yes, I'll be right back."

After hanging up the phone, Eloise changed into a new outfit and dressed Sweety up as well, intending to go out.

The moment he opened the door, he was greeted by Rowson's face.

Seeing Rowson, Eloise was a bit reluctant to pay attention and wanted to simply bypass him.

But Rowson went ahead and picked Sweety up, saying curtly, "You're going out, aren't you? I'll walk you."

"No, Sweety and I will just take a taxi there."

At the words, Eloise held out her hand and Sweety dutifully pounced on Eloise's body.

When she refused, Rowson said with great embarrassment, "I was the one who drank too much last night and said a lot of inappropriate things, I'm sorry, just think of it as giving me a chance to drive you mother and daughter there." In saying this, Rowson puts himself in a very low profile.

Eloise also wanted to give him a leg up, so she didn't refuse him again and had to let him go.

On the way downstairs, Rowson very attentively pulled open the passenger door for Eloise, but Eloise walked right past him and went to the back seat.

Sitting in with Sweety in her arms.

Looking at his hand, which was hanging in mid-air, Rowson was a little embarrassed for a moment.

But he didn't say anything, so he closed the door and walked to the driver's seat.

Asking where Eloise was going, Rowson couldn't help but clench his palms when he heard her refer to Rogers Villa.

However, Rowson had to restrain himself so that she would not see the difference.

Ten minutes later, the car was firmly parked at Rogers Villa.

Hector came out at the door to greet them.

Sweety saw Hector and jumped happily into his arms.

Maryam came out behind Hector and saw Rowson and tried to walk over quickly.

"You must be Mr. Rowson, I've heard Eloise mention you, I should really thank you, I must take you to dinner sometime to show my gratitude, if you hadn't saved Eloise in the first place, I really would have lost this daughter." Maryam's voice was so soft that Rowson was a little embarrassed to hear it.

He scratched his head and said, "Ah, Auntie, it's a blessing, you don't have to be so polite."

Looking at Maryam and Eloise's intimacy, Rowson was at a loss as to what to call the woman in front of him.

If he had addressed her directly as Ma, he would have been afraid of scaring her, so the moment he opened his mouth he had to change it to Auntie.

But that's all it took for Hector to be pleased.

As luck would have it, at the end of his sentence, Hector spoke up, "Eloise, why don't you help Mum inside, it's windy out."

Eloise could hear that he had something to say to Rowson and had to assist Maryam into the room.

Seeing the two men leave, the atmosphere between the two men began to suddenly become sabre rattling.

Rowson looked at Hector coldly and said nonchalantly, "What, was that just showing off to me?"
