Love Comes To Me
Chapter 778: A Hongmen Banquet

Angered by his attitude, Mrs Darlington gave him a stern look.

"Who says so? Would she have agreed to marry Rowson if she hadn't wanted to? I think you're senile. I think you're more interested in everyone's business except your own!" Seeing Mrs Darlington's persistence, Mr. Darlington Sr. simply put the matter on the table and said, "Whatever, you don't see it yet.

Eloise her unusual attitude towards Hector even with her memory loss shows that they have a strong bond, it's something that's burned into their bones and can't be changed." Mrs Darlington was speechless for a moment before she said, "That boy from the Rogers family was unkind enough to abduct my daughter-in-law when he knew she was my daughter-in-law." "Could Eloise have cornered someone if he didn't want to, use your head more you." Mr. Darlington Sr shook his head and sighed.

Stuck for words, Mrs Darlington gave Mr Darlington Sr a shove and said, "You're a father too, think of your son, look what you're saying!" Having said that, he gambled away.

On the other side Rogers Villa.

The black gates opened and the car pulled slowly into the estate, and Hector glanced back.

The little girl and Solomon are snuggled up asleep in Eloise's arms, who is caressing them with a soft look on her face.

The moment the car stopped, the two men's eyes met and both smiled faintly.

Hector, who was by now much better, got out of the car first, opened the door to the back seat and leaned over to Eloise, "Give it to me." Eloise complied, carefully separating the siblings' joined trailing fingers, and Hector carried the little girl out first.

"Well ..."

The moment the little girl was carried out, Solomon's brow furrowed slightly and his eyes opened in confusion.

Eloise lowered her eyes and spoke softly in Solomon's ear, "Solomon, it's home."

Then he got out of the car with a sleepy Solomon in tow.

Solomon was half leaning on Eloise, stumbling along and clutching at the corners of Eloise's coat.

Hector's lips lifted slightly at the sight and the family of four headed inside the villa.

Pushing open the door to the room, Hector carefully placed the sleeping little girl on the edge of the bed, followed by Eloise.

Solomon would have been quite awake by now and saw the little girl sucking. It was cute to see the little girl sucking her pinky to sleep.

Lean over and observe with a doting face.

Hector looks over at Eloise next to him, his eyes are luminous and clear, frilly and glowing.

The atmosphere between them was ambiguous, and Eloise twisted the corner of her coat a little, looking up at him.

"Uh, you, why don't you go ahead and get busy, I'll just keep an eye on things here."

The voice gets smaller and smaller, eventually becoming a mosquito-like mumble.

When Eloise is nervous, she makes a lot of small movements, either twisting the corners of her coat or rubbing her arms, and her long eyelashes flutter unconsciously, not daring to look in one direction. Hector smiled, knowing that she was shy, and without nodding, nodded gently.

"I'll go to the study then, call me if anything comes up."

Eloise instantly nodded her head in a chicken-pecking fashion.

Hector lost his smile, thinking it was time for Thomas to pull up, so he closed the door and headed for the study.

Not long after sitting down in the study, Thomas followed on his heels.

Hector's long legs, which had nowhere to rest, were folded casually, leaning lazily on a chair, his eyes falling on the doorway, taking in Thomas' preoccupied look.

His fingertips snapped lightly against the tabletop with a rhythmic sound and he asked straight away, "Something to say?"

"Hmm."

Thomas walked over, his expression stony as he thought about the scene he had seen yesterday.

"Prince, I followed Rowson as he was leaving yesterday and found Rowson meeting a woman, sneaking around.

The woman came out with what appeared to be a different set of clothes, but from listening to Rowson and her chat, she would have been the one who drugged you." Hector sniffed, his eyes narrowing slightly, revealing a dangerous glint.

A layer of coldness covered the bottom of his clear black eyes for a moment, and in a cold, deep voice he asked, "Are you sure?"

Thomas nodded and guessed, "Eight. Nine or nine, I didn't quite understand what they were talking about when I came across it until I heard that your side had been drugged to string things together.

The timing is right, the woman is still wounded, Rowson is helping her escape, they definitely know each other, maybe Rowson directed the woman...

Hector stifled a grunt, not really thinking that Rowson was still involved with the woman from last night.

It seems that he went to a banquet last night after all.

Thinking of the woman who crossed paths last night, Hector dismissed Thomas's suspicions at once and inferred with a bemused expression, "No, that woman and Rowson were in cahoots, but not necessarily in a subordinate relationship. That woman is not a simple person, her hands are specially trained, and with Rowson's background, she shouldn't have the strength to drive such a person."

The woman wasn't the only one injured last night, Hector was also hit a few times.

It was only a few superficial wounds, but it was bruised up today.

But it was hidden under clothing and people didn't notice.

There are not many people who can be in danger in a situation like that and hurt him back.

With this in mind, Hector felt more and more that the woman from last night was a ticking time bomb.

At this point there was a little more exasperation; if he hadn't been drugged last night, he should have been able to catch the woman over for questioning. It's so unpleasant to be set up like this.

Hector's fists clenched and his eyes grew colder.

The image of Eloise being held hostage yesterday is still vivid and haunting.

If Rowson was the mastermind, he wouldn't have let his men touch Eloise.

Hector wasn't sure, though, that in that situation yesterday, the woman would have taken Eloise hostage because she knew how important she was to her.

If that was the case, then Rowson must have said something to her.

But there's no telling if she came across it by chance and went after Eloise ...

Thomas looked at Hector's expression and could probably guess what he was worried about, so he spoke up, "I couldn't follow the woman because I was worried about your side of the story.

And Rowson was there, and thinking you didn't want me to spook them first, you didn't make a move to stop them, but don't worry, I've sent someone to track down the woman and should have news soon." Hector nodded his head and gave a low hmph.

Thomas was very responsive in doing this, given the unknown circumstances.

But...

Seeing Hector in deep thought, Thomas couldn't resist calling out to him again, "Prince."

"What?"

Hector raised an eyebrow, "Be direct with what you have to say."

"Then I'll be so bold as to say that I replace Rowson suspicious, he has joined forces with outsiders against you, so is it possible that the germ on your ladyship's body was also his doing? After all, if it was him, Madame should not be suspicious..."
