Love Comes To Me
Chapter 807: The Canary

As Eloise's words fell, the room fell abruptly silent.

Rowson was half silent, moved the tray away and explained, "I was just spooked, Eloise, I really want to remove the germs from your body now, give me a chance, will you?" "Your heart? Forget it."

The resistance in her tone left Rowson at a loss for words, and the next sentence sent him into a deep freeze.

"Rowson, I won't trust you again, don't waste your time, and I don't want to see you again."

"Don't you have the slightest idea of the bond we share, Thomas?"

Rowson looked at Eloise incredulously, with a hurt look in his eyes that made it seem as if he was the one who was the victim.

"A love affair?"

Eloise whispered the two words back, and after a long moment smiled bitterly, "Do you think there's even an ounce of affection left between us?"

If there had been love, how could she have been drugged?

And how could she be taken away from France without her will.

At her disappointed look, Rowson's heart fluttered.

"The old Rowson, never did anything to hurt me."

Eloise looked at him, her tone calm, "Rowson now, full of lies, not a care in the world for my feelings, totally controlling me like a fool."

At that, Eloise's mouth curled into a helpless smile.

Rowson's throat caught, not because her words were hurtful, but because she was telling the truth and he couldn't refute them.

"Eloise, all of what you said, all of it I admit is my fault ... but you can't beat me to death with a stick, you know that's not who I am, right?"

He looked at Eloise earnestly, with a look of supplication that Eloise feared she might not be able to resist looking any longer. Knowing that he owes him after all.

Eloise tilted her head to avoid his eyes and said after a hard look, "Rowson, we're not right for each other after all, just let me go..."

At these words, Rowson snapped back, staring hard at Eloise, his eyes flip-flopping with emotions that she couldn't read.

"I regret that I should never have let you go in the first place!"

At these words, Rowson suddenly got up and the shelf with the milk was brought down by him, spilling the thick milk all over the bed instantly.

Eloise looked at the man in front of her in horror, and while she was still frozen, the tall figure suddenly overlapped above her, and the unfamiliar scent made Eloise's whole body put up thorns of defence. "What a great opportunity to claim you as my own when my good intentions let you slip away from me ..."

Rowson recalls the past with a sudden smile and looks at Eloise with a look of deep affection again.

"Eloise, don't you miss the way things used to be? Just the two of us, without the annoying Hector ...

Back then, you and I and Sweety, we were an enviable family of three, but why has everything changed now!"

When he finished, the mood in Rowson's eyes shifted and he looked around the room as if he had noticed something.

He walked over to the window and tugged hard on the iron frame, nodded with satisfaction, and unplugged the phone lines and internet cables in the room in turn.

Eloise was disturbed by his movements, but probably guessed what he was thinking.

Eloise squeezed her palms together and spoke in a cold questioning voice, "Rowson, you're being gentle with me, is this your intention to imprison me?"

The man who was examining the door frame gave a beat under his hand and did not reply.

He walked over to the bed and took the spare key inside out and waved it in front of her, slowly slipping it into his own pocket.

He then spoke, "Eloise, don't blame me, you made me do it, so whatever the case, you might as well stay here for now."

With those words, Rowson turned and walked slowly towards the door.

Seeing that he was really leaving, Eloise scrambled out of bed, not bothering to put on her shoes, and drew her legs after him, only to trip over the carpet and fall to the ground. Because she had been hungry for a long time, Eloise felt a wave of dizziness the moment she got out of bed.

The men's pace didn't stop, however, and Eloise climbed to her feet regardless and ran after Rowson.

"Rowson! You can't do this! You have no right to imprison me!"

Eloise gripped the door tightly with both hands, so hard that the bones of her nails had turned white, and hissed.

By now, the door had been locked from the outside by Rowson and no matter how hard Eloise tried, she could not open the door in front of her.

Rowson could not help but feel a pang of heartache as he heard her voice with an indelible desperation.

However, he was not the Rowson of old today, and pointing to the bodyguards at the door, he said, "You two, keep an eye on her, don't let her get hurt, and don't let her get away, or I'll have your lives."

When Eloise heard his voice through the door, the hope in her eyes was extinguished and she spoke sarcastically, "So everything before was just a trick to hide your true nature, sacrificing the happiness of others in order to achieve your own goals.

Her sneer made Rowson's mood worse, but the footsteps did not stop there.

"Eloise I want you to think clearly about who is ultimately the best person for you, and until then, think about it."

The words were followed by the sound of fading footsteps until there was complete silence at the door.

Eloise stared straight at the closed door of the room in front of her, as if drained of all strength, and sat down helplessly on the delicate and luxurious carpet. There was despair in his eyes.

After sitting on the floor for a long time, Eloise eased back into bed.

The breeze gently brushes against the window as the petals sway and drift down several times.

Her mouth couldn't help but smile miserably; what was the difference between her now and a canary trapped in a cage?

I wonder, who else could save her today.

In times of desperation, it was always Hector that came to mind.

Every time at the point in time when she needed him most, he was there on time.

But now that she is locked up in this place, I'm afraid Hector will have a hard time replaceing out where she is.

The last straw is cut short and Eloise's eyes look out of the window with disillusionment at the world.

The crystal glass set in the window pane was too beautiful to touch, and suddenly an idea came to her mind.

Eloise moved out of the cupboard beside the bed and dragged it laboriously to the window.

Hungry and exhausted, the body was now weak and feeble, with cold sweat permeating the tip of the nose and forehead.

She braced herself and picked up a picture frame on the counter, only to pause as she was about to pool all her strength to slam it into the crystal glass.

It was only then that she actually saw the scene outside and was startled, for having been lying in bed, she could only see a large rose garden outside the window.

Originally thinking she was on the ground floor, she now climbed up and realised that she was presumably over ten floors up, and on the floor she was on, there was a sky rose garden. Now it seemed that even if she had smashed open the window, there was no way to escape.

The wiring in the room had long been cut by Rowson and it would have been a nightmare to contact the outside world.

Eloise put the frame down helplessly and dropped to the floor, only to give up the struggle.
