Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 828: Don't Make Me Hate You
Suddenly a voice sounded, with a hint of helplessness.
Hector's gaze froze as he held Eloise's hand tightly and walked inside, where someone was waiting for them. "Mr. Rowson is waiting for you upstairs."
The two of them walked slowly upstairs, and Eloise looked at the cottage with some frustration.
Rowson is as meticulous as ever in his love of these uninteresting and lifeless things, just like the man he is.
Walking upstairs to the living room, Eloise couldn't help but feel a little nervous.
Rowson sits in his chair with his cup of tea, looking out of the window and wondering what he is thinking.
Seemingly aware that they were coming up, Rowson turned, but his gaze fell on Eloise, deep and long, with undisguised affection.
Eloise's eyes were downcast, her palms already flushed with moisture.
The Rowson in front of her, though now on her bad side, had at least once saved her.
It's just that she already had Hector and there was no way to respond to that deep love any other way.
Rowson saw the look on her face and the corner of his mouth ticked up in self-deprecation.
Hector frowned and took a step forward unnoticed, side-stepping in front of Eloise and separating his gaze.
"Rowson, and I'm not going to beat around the bush with you, hand over Eloise's papers."
Rowson put down the cup of tea in his hand, in no hurry, for his position had been thought out early in the morning.
"No."
Those papers were his only leverage, and if he just gave them to Hector and let them go, then he feared he would never see Eloise again in his life.
He was greedy, and although she was now out of his league, he could still look at her once in a while, if only for a moment, as long as she did not leave.
This answer was no surprise; Hector hadn't expected to get his papers back so easily.
The love of the man before him had reached a point of paranoia, but he had loved the wrong person.
He had lost Eloise once and would not give it away this time, no matter what.
Carefully guarding Eloise, who was silent behind him, Hector's tone was instantly harsh.
"You brought her here without my permission, and I held back from doing anything because of the way you looked after them, mother and daughter, for so many years in the past. Rowson, what you call loving her is simply selfish and self-serving; you don't deserve to love her at all, you just do it for your own selfish reasons."
The unforgiving words were hurled with such force that Rowson's face went pale for a moment.
How could he do that?
Who was he to put down the deep love and affection he had always felt for Eloise to such a worthless level?
Isn't it just a case of make or break, and now that Hector has won he can say that about his love for Eloise?
Rowson's eyes glared angrily at Hector, his hands clenched into fists, "Hector, don't go too far! I love her, so I want her to stay here and see that she's safe. What about you? You lost her for three years once and you can't even guarantee her safety, you have no right to talk about me!"
Having lost Eloise, mother and daughter, is the thing Hector feels most guilty about in his life.
It was so painful to be told by his love interest that he practically searched the earth for Eloise for three years, searching in vain and staying up all night.
Eloise sensed Hector's loss and took his large hand in a backhanded grip.
A soft and warm feeling comes from the palm of your hand, like a silent comfort.
"It is not your turn to say what I did with her in the first place. At least, I'm the one standing next to her now, and I've never harmed her, and you?" Hector sneered, looking at Rowson, who had been forcing himself to play it cool. Eloise, who had been silent, pursed her lips and seemed to have made up her mind about something.
She made the decision when she asked to come along.
Rowson did treat her well once, but it was because of this goodness that she could no longer leave Rowson with any hope.
Only by dying to her once and for all could Rowson make a new start.
"Rowson, I won't love you, and I don't want to hate you, please don't make me hate you." Eloise's voice was still soft, but it seemed to take on a hint of determination.
She stepped forward and stood side by side with Hector, finally coming to grips with it all.
Rowson looked at her almost greedily, she was as gentle and kind as ever, yet she said such things to him.
He knew that there would come a day when he would have to watch Hector and Eloise stand across from him and chastise him in this way.
He didn't want Eloise to hate him.
But it's not fair, why isn't he the one standing next to Eloise?
Rowson's eyes crossed with desolation and the words came out almost with tears of blood, "Obviously, I was the one who kept you all these years! He only appeared before me, why?! Why couldn't it have been me!" Although, from the day he saved Eloise's life, he knew that this woman did not belong to him.
She was pregnant with a child and she was someone else's wife.
But, as time went on, his love for Eloise grew deeper.
He's not happy about it!
His love is no less than Hector's, he doesn't mind her having children, he doesn't mind everything about her, as long as she can stand by his side ah.
Eloise listened to his words, and the goodness he had once shown her bubbled into her mind in a moment.
The tip of her nose was sore and the water misted up in front of her, making it almost impossible to see Rowson in front of her.
She forced back her tears, choked up, and said, "Do we, have to get into this? Rowson, give me back my papers, I have my family and you, deserve better." Rowson lifted his lips, but not a word came out.
Does he deserve better?
But in his eyes, there is nothing better than Eloise.
His eyes once again fell on the two men's hands that had clasped and never let go, and his heart kept throbbing with pain so intense that he could not breathe.
His calmness was almost crumbling, and he was always easily disarmed in her presence.
Silence permeated the large living room as Rowson wrestled with himself in a fierce mental battle.
He didn't want to spend his life being hated by Eloise, what was the point of living like that?
He always hoped that he would still be the same unfailing Rowson in Eloise's eyes.
It was someone she could rely on, someone she could call Rowson with familiarity and confidence.
But once he had handed over his papers, she would not stay with him at all.
Both are cliffs, and Rowson stands in the middle, looking down into the bottomless abyss, helpless and confused.
A doorbell broke the silence of several people, accompanied by a woman's questioning voice: "Is anyone there?"
It's Katerina's voice!
Eloise turned almost instantly and Rowson snapped out of his thoughts and frowned, looking at the two men before him and speaking in a faint voice, "You guys hide first."
