Love Comes To Me
Chapter 846: My Name is Edgar

"Your mother had several surgeries in the beginning and this time it was because an old illness had returned and she was showing some signs of heart failure." The attending doctor pulls one of the test results and places it at the top, then points his fingertip at one of the spots.

Eloise looked down at it, most of it was filled with medical-specific terms that she couldn't understand.

The doctor's words, however, she understood.

Heart Failure ...

"It's possible that this fever won't go away and that's what caused it, so I'd recommend a period of hospitalisation for observation."

The attending doctor gave the most pertinent advice with a serious face, adding, "After all, it's not a good sign that the fever hasn't gone down."

Eloise closed her eyes and felt her whole being spin around a little.

She didn't even know how she was going to get out of the doctor's office.

At the door of Maryam's hospital room, Hector held a worried looking Eloise close, "Eloise, I'm going home to get my papers and come to check in."

Eloise was silent for a moment, then pulled herself together and nodded, "Okay, then I'll stay here with Mum."

"Well, listen, don't worry, it's going to be fine."

Hector reassured her several times before leaving the hospital.

After returning home and getting the required documents, I spoke to Hector's parents again.

Only then did he return to the hospital, check in and come to the ward with the daily necessities he had packed on his way home.

He arrived at the ward just as Maryam woke up from her nap.

Eloise had been sitting by the hospital bed and when she saw Maryam wake up, she curled her lips into a smile and asked, "Mum, are you feeling sick anywhere and what would you like to eat tonight?" Even though she was smiling, the worry between her eyebrows could not be concealed.

Maryam is aware of how poor her physical base is.

This fever is more of an omen.

"Eloise, don't worry, Mum's fine."

Maryam took Eloise's little hand in hers and soothed her warmly, "Mum still has to watch SweetySolomon grow up."

Eloise's lips lifted slightly, but eventually she didn't speak, just nodded.

"Mum ... I'll go and fetch you some lean pork porridge to drink."

"Good."

Maryam nods her head.

As soon as Eloise turned around, she saw Hector returning.

Hector put his things down and finished caring for Maryam before walking out of the ward with Eloise.

He took Eloise by the wrist and then brought her into a tight embrace, "Eloise."

He could clearly feel the person in his arms trembling.

She was in fear.

Hector clasped his palm to the back of Eloise's head, his brow furrowed lightly as he said softly, "Mum will be fine, so don't worry." Eloise's eyes burst into red.

She knew that she didn't have to pretend to be strong in front of Hector and couldn't help but whimper out, "Hector, I'm really scared ..."

No one can be honest about a loved one having such serious health problems.

She was able to pull herself together in front of Maryam, but there was more fear and worry in her heart.

She had disappeared for so many years, and it was so hard to reunite with her mother, but before she knew it, something like this happened again...

The two stood in the hallway hugging for a while, waiting for Eloise's emotions to calm down before the two went to a nearby restaurant and packed their dinner and returned. Dinner is over, it is getting dark and twilight is falling.

Hector took a phone call and hurried back to the office to attend to urgent business matters.

Eloise is left alone in the ward to look after Maryam.

With two little ones at home and Hector's parents looking after them, she wasn't too worried.

She simply stayed in the hospital with Maryam.

By the time Hector had finished, Eloise was asleep on her back by the hospital bed.

The ward is quiet and there are no lights on. The moonlight pours in through the glass window and reflects on Eloise's soft cheeks.

Her brow was furrowed and she did not sleep comfortably.

As Hector watched, something felt like a twist in his heart, and he leaned down, his fingertips landing on Eloise's brow and gently smoothing it.

For the next few days, Eloise was at Maryam's bedside every inch of the way, caring for her.

Hector was worried that she might not be able to cope physically, so he called in a caregiver.

With the help of a caregiver, Eloise, who had been in hospital for a few days, made a special trip home to spend time with Solomon and Sweety.

After that, Hector's mother would occasionally bring Sweety and Solomon to see Maryam in hospital.

It was a quiet day in the ward when the door to the room was suddenly thrown open and Solomon rushed over to Maryam's ward and plopped his upper body down on the bed. "Grandma! Solomon is here to see you!"

The next second, another small figure rushed in after him, followed by Sweety's sticky voice, "Sweety's here too!"

The arrival of the two little ones brought the ward to life.

Hector's mother enters, panting lightly, looking helplessly at the two children running as fast as they can.

"In-laws, Solomon and Sweety are screaming to see you, how are you feeling?"

Maryam cuddled up to Solomon who had climbed into bed and was smiling from ear to ear, "I'm already better!"

When Eloise returned from her trip to pay some fees, she heard laughter in the ward before she even entered the door.

Her low mood dissipated a little at the sound of the two little ones and she smiled as she walked in and greeted Hector's mother, "Mum, there you are, and Solomon, get off Grandma." She sat down on the edge of the hospital bed, picked up an apple and peeled it, cutting it into small pieces.

"Out of the way!"

Maryam waved her hand.

After lying in hospital for so long, she also missed her two children very much.

The buzz in the ward continued until after lunch.

The two little ones were also tired from all the fussing, Solomon laying down on the sofa and sleeping soundly, while Sweety fell asleep directly into Hector's mother's arms.

Seeing this, and worried that Hector's mother would be tired, Eloise let Hector's mother and the two little ones take the lead back to the Rogers family.

Eloise, on the other hand, stayed at the hospital with Maryam until the evening, when she too went to sleep, and then Eloise got up and walked out. By now, it was faintly dark.

Just after leaving the hospital, she ran into Hector who had come to pick her up and they went home together.

When I got home, as soon as I got out of the car, I saw a strange man standing in front of the Rogers family.

Men in suits, who also looked very young, wandered back and forth in front of the Rogers family.

From time to time, he looked up inside the Rogers family with a slightly anxious expression.

Eloise glanced over and confirmed it was an unfamiliar face before turning her head sideways to enquire about Hector, "Hector, do you know him?" Hector shakes his head in the same way.

He frowned at it and then led Eloise over to him, "Hello, may I ask who you are looking for?"

The man in the suit turned his head and realised that it was not polite for him to keep wandering in front of someone's house.

"I'm sorry."

He nodded apologetically and then began to introduce himself, "My name is Edgar and I'm here to see a lady called Maryam, have you two heard of her?" Eloise was a little taken aback when she heard her mother's name and politely spoke up and asked, "Sir, may I ask what you want with my mother?"

It was Edgar's turn to have a surprised expression on his face, "She's your mother?"

Eloise nodded very sincerely.

Edgar didn't suspect a thing, "Hello, I'm Maryam's brother's son and I'm here to replace my long lost aunt."

Seeing that Eloise was related to him by blood, Edgar reintroduced himself again.
