Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 869: Back to France
Hearing Edgar's name all of a sudden made Maryam freeze for a while.
Memories suddenly emerge, like opening a book that has accumulated a lot of dust.
How long has it been since she ... heard that name?
Maryam's nose welled up with a sourness, "You, when did your cousin come to see you and what did he say?"
Looking back, Maryam gripped Eloise's hand and looked at her apprehensively and expectantly.
Eloise gripped Maryam's cool fingers in return.
"My cousin said Grandpa has been looking for you and wants to meet you on his 80th birthday."
She deliberated for a moment and picked out the key points to say.
Maryam unconsciously clutched Eloise's hand.
She knows it...
She always remembered her father's birthday.
Eloise continued after a short pause, "But you hadn't woken up yet, and I didn't tell Grandpa about your illness. Mum, I went to Grandpa's birthday party instead of you, you don't blame me, do you?" Maryam sniffled and shook her head with red eyes, "How could I blame you? Eloise, your grandfather he ... isn't, isn't it true that he doesn't want to see me very much?"
Maryam's voice was full of bitterness and tinged with unease.
It was as if Eloise had seen the young Maryam regretting her appearance all those years ago.
After all these years, her mother must have regretted the guilt.
"Mum, Grandpa he hasn't blamed you and, like Grandma, misses you and worries about you all the time."
Eloise avoided saying anything about her grandmother having died a few years before.
The mother, who was rarely awake, couldn't stand the excitement.
But hearing her words was already a very complicated matter for Maryam.
Remorse, longing, and guilt are all intertwined in the mind.
Maryam's eyes became more and more sore, and the tears in her eyes eventually became unstoppable and flowed all over her face.
"I should have known, I should have guessed."
Maryam choked back a sob.
What on earth has she been doing all these years? I've been afraid to go back because I'm afraid.
She was afraid to face the disappointed look in her father's eyes.
She had always thought that her father would never forgive her.
But how could she have imagined that while she was deeply missing her family, her parents were also thinking of her all the time!
"I've been afraid to go back all these years, I'm afraid your grandparents won't forgive me, I ..."
By the end of her speech, Maryam was sobbing uncontrollably.
Eloise knew that Maryam was in a mood and it would be bad not to let her finish.
So she patted Maryam on the back while listening to her.
At this time Maryam was also just a person who had been away from home for many years and missed her loved ones.
"Well, Mum, you can't get too emotional."
Seeing that Maryam had calmed down considerably, Eloise took the opportunity to say in a soft and reassuring voice, "What about you now, just get well and then go back to visit his old man, okay?" With Eloise's reassurance, Maryam's mood gradually adjusted.
At these words, Maryam nods gently.
Eloise helped Maryam back to the ward again, picking out lighter topics for her on the way.
But Maryam couldn't help but be curious about what she had experienced in the two days she had been at Fang's house.
Eloise had no choice but to tell her all about it.
Maryam couldn't help but smile along with him when she heard that Master Khan was also pleased with Hector.
There are very few people who can make even the old man nod his head in satisfaction.
Eloise accompanied Maryam on the ward and chatted with her, the mother and daughter in a friendly atmosphere.
It was later in the evening, when Maryam had gone to sleep, that Eloise gingerly stepped out of the ward.
It was dark by the time we got back to the Rogers family.
Not long after Eloise arrived home, Hector returned and it was as if the two had a heart-to-heart.
As soon as Hector returned, he hugged Eloise straight away and talked to her about a trip back to France.
"I need to go to France for some work handovers, and Solomon's schooling has to be moved over."
Most importantly, of course, he had to bring back Almeida and Sener.
They are there so that they can always deal with the virus in Eloise's body.
Eloise also just remembered this.
There has been so much going on lately that she had forgotten about it.
"I'd like to make a trip back to France with you too, is that okay?"
She lifted her head from Hector's arms and looked at him expectantly.
Again fearing Hector's disapproval, Eloise thoughtfully added, "I'd like to say hello to Rowson's parents."
Hector sniffed, thought for a few seconds and then nodded his head in agreement.
The couple said they would do it and Hector booked a flight for the next morning.
Then spoke to Hector's parents again.
Eloise left Solomon behind and took Sweety with her as she was worried that the two oldest would be bored at home.
Before leaving Solomon held back his tears and hugged Eloise tightly.
"Mummy, Solomon will be good, but you have to come back early."
"Mmm! Mummy will miss you and have a good time with your grandparents in the meantime."
Eloise cupped Solomon's small, sculpted face and gave him a firm kiss on the cheek.
He then left the Rogers family as he looked on in disbelief.
It was more than ten hours later when we arrived in France.
With a sleeping Sweety in his arms, Hector took Eloise home for a short rest until the afternoon, when he went to the office to deal with the handover.
Eloise, on the other hand, waited for Sweety to wake up from her nap and then led her to visit Rowson's parents.
Looking at the familiar building, Eloise rang the doorbell.
The door was opened by Rowson's mother, who looked surprised when she saw that the person ringing the doorbell was Eloise.
Immediately, the surprise on her face turned into delight, "Eloise, you're here, come on, come in."
Mrs Darlington warmly welcomed Eloise into her home and was delighted to see Sweety, wrapping her in her arms and giving her several kisses on the cheek. "Sweety, do you miss Grandma?"
"Yes!"
Sweety nodded heavily before giving Mrs Darlington a kiss on the cheek with a boop.
Both of Rowson's parents were very welcoming to Eloise's arrival.
Eloise was silent for some time as she gazed at the two old men teasing Sweety.
"Dad and Mum ... I'm settling in the country and I'm here to talk to you."
Rowson's parents froze at the sound of it.
"Is that so?"
Mrs Darlington had a look of loss on her face.
Mr. Darlington Sr was also full of sadness.
"Weren't you fine in France... so suddenly?"
Eloise didn't hold back and told Maryam about her illness.
The two men could only sigh and did not say more.
But there is an oppressive atmosphere in the air.
This feeling made the hearts of several people present feel heavy.
Looking at the sad faces of Rowson's parents, Eloise's heart was also very hard.
"I ... can't leave you guys alone, as soon as my mother gets better I'll come and see you, okay?"
She pursed her lips and whispered.
