Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 881: I have a sense of proportion
"Chit."
Killers rolled his eyes in utter disgust, "Why are you so uninterested?"
When he said that, he simply hung up the phone.
Although she looked disgusted, it was extremely hard for Hector to grant a favour.
If this was at City J, there's no telling how many people would be rushing to try and sell Hector a favour.
Hector tossed his phone aside and started working on the task at hand when Thomas came back just after noon to tell him he had two more meetings to attend.
With all this busyness, before we knew it, it was evening.
Having finished the task at hand, Hector glanced out of the window at the sky and got up to leave the office.
When I got home, I happened to meet up with Rupert.
Rupert saw that he didn't look well and remembered what had happened at the office that afternoon, and he asked again if it had anything to do with that Farabee contract. Hector spoke to him briefly and then went with him to the study to talk about the group's other projects.
Halfway through, Eloise came in to bring them tea and snacks and gingerly went out again.
He was busy until midnight, when he dropped the task at hand and returned to his bedroom.
Eloise was still awake, sitting on the bed with a book, reading quietly, as if waiting for him.
Hearing the door open, she hurriedly closed the book, put it on the bedside table and got out of bed and flung herself straight into Hector's arms.
"Are you busy so late?"
Eloise whispered as she clung to Hector's lean waist.
"Well, why didn't you go to bed first?" Hector bent straight down and picked the person in his arms up sideways and placed them on the big soft bed, his eyes glowing with heartache. "Want to be with you."
Eloise wrapped her arms around his neck, her voice thick with nasal sounds.
Hector's eyes softened and he coaxed, "Good girl."
Eloise feels she must have been spoilt by Hector.
Now she can't sleep for a while without Hector to hold her.
"It's only a matter of time before you spoil me." Eloise closed her eyes and muttered.
Hector burst into laughter as he rubbed up on Eloise's head and replied in a low voice, "Spoiled you're my wife too."
Eloise's heart glowed and she buried her little face in Hector's arms, raising her stupidity silently.
What could be happier than to be so spoiled by him?
As Hector pondered whether to talk to her about Farabee's approach to the Rogers Group today, the small woman in his arms was breathing steadily.
Hector looks down and sees Eloise's delicate, peaceful sleeping face fall into his eyes.
Warmth spread from his chest as Hector bent his head and kissed her lightly on the brow.
The worries that we encountered during the day also dissipated at this moment.
"Good night, my Eloise."
His soft voice rang out in the silence of the house.
When Rupert arrived at the office the following day, Hector had already finished most of his business.
"Brother ..."
"I'll handle Farabee's project, you don't have to worry about it."
Without waiting for Rupert to come forward, Hector spoke straight away.
Rupert nodded his head in response.
The brothers discussed business matters for a while longer before Rupert left.
The Farabee project is something that Hector has put aside for the time being.
Later in the evening, Hector left the office and returned home.
Eloise is sitting in the living room reading a story to the two little ones in a warm and harmonious atmosphere. "Daddy, you're home."
As soon as Sweety saw Hector, she stood up from the couch and leapt in front of him, raising her arms in the air for a hug. Hector knelt down to pick Sweety's little body up and spoke in a gentle voice, "Does Sweety listen to Mummy at home?"
"Sweety is listening to mummy's fairy tales today and is being very good and not making a fuss."
Sweety nods her little head and replies with a smile.
Hector complimented the two little ones for a few moments before, sitting down next to Eloise.
At Hector's gesture, Solomon smartly pulled Sweety and ran upstairs to play with Hector's father and Hector's mother, leaving the pair alone.
"Sweety, Great-Uncle came to the office yesterday to talk to Rupert about the project."
In fact, last night Hector was going to tell Eloise about it.
It's just that she fell asleep so quickly last night that he didn't have time to say it.
At that, Eloise froze, then put down the storybook in her hand and looked at Hector a little apologetically, "Sorry, I didn't know my great uncle would be looking to go to the office." Hector did not say much about the specifics of the project, and he thought Eloise should know about it.
But it was not appropriate to know too much, and he did not want her to be affected.
After all, the waters are supposed to be very deep.
"Fool, you don't have to apologize."
Hector finished with a smile and reached out to take her into his arms.
"I don't want you to be embarrassed because of me, it's your job, just do what you want, don't worry about me, okay?" Eloise spoke very seriously.
Even if she hadn't had much contact with Farabee, she could have vaguely guessed.
Farabee's approach to Hector was based on nothing more than "profit".
She can't deny her kinship with Farabee, but the last thing she wants to see is someone using her to get in front of Hector.
She was aware that she couldn't help Hector much with the work, but she didn't want to hold him back either.
Hector laughed softly at his words, his arms wrapping the person in his arms a little tighter, "Don't worry, I've got it under control."
Eloise breathed a sigh of relief at this and looked up at him with a smile, "Well, I believe you."
--
Farabee waited for two days, and he stayed at the nearest hotel to the Rogers Group for two days.
During this time he took out his phone numerous times to check it, but still no news. Eventually Farabee pressed on and came back to Rogers Group when he was ready.
The little girl at the reception desk now gets a bit of a headache when she sees Farabee.
Farabee has been coming to the Rogers Group for the past two days, but he doesn't come in either, he just watches from outside and wanders around every now and then. "Is Mr Hector in, please, and is he available today?"
As soon as Farabee entered, she opened the door and asked.
The young girl at the reception desk smiled slightly, "Sir, I'm sorry, there's no appointment for you ..."
"I'm your chairman's great uncle."
