Love Comes To Me
Chapter 912: Not much left

As the three lorries approached the warehouse, a sudden cacophony of voices came from the alleyway where the warehouse was located, the sound of frantic shouting people accompanied by the sharp sound of metal clashing. "None of you will escape today!"

I don't know who shouted this, but I saw several men rushing out of the alleyway in a hurry, all holding one-metre-long steel pipes.

They looked back nervously as they ran.

"Don't think you can get away with it!"

Another group came after them, also holding steel pipes in their hands.

The two groups fought again and for a while the scene was confused and it was impossible to tell the enemy from the enemy.

But it was clear that one of the parties was at a disadvantage and, seeing that it was about to be overwhelmed, someone pulled out a sharp knife and stabbed it into a fuel tank placed on the side of the road, instantly filling the air with the pungent smell of petrol.

At the smell, everyone stopped and turned their heads to look over.

The man was seen to pull out a lighter, light it and throw it.

The lighter fell onto the petrol flowing from the tank and instantly ignited, lighting up the night sky with a "misty" flame.

"Crazy!"

The two groups couldn't be bothered to fight, cursing as they rushed to turn and run, fearing that the fire would spread and affect them.

The fire was very large and extremely aggressive, and soon reached a warehouse on one side.

The three lorries sent out by the SA Group saw the fire from afar and hurriedly accelerated towards the warehouse, and the faces of the people on board went white instantly when they saw the warehouse on fire. It's over!

"Quick! Put out the fire!"

As soon as the car pulled up, everyone hurriedly got out.

The warehouse was filled with the Group's most important herbs, and if something went wrong with this, they would all be killed!

"Everyone be careful, if anything goes wrong with this batch of herbs, you know what will happen to you! Do you hear me?!"

Pierce's warning voice still seemed to echo in my ears before we set off.

Some people tried to rush into the warehouse to rescue the herbs, but the fire was too big to get close.

"What can we do about this? If this continues, the herbs will be burnt up!" Someone's voice changed in anxiety.

Although the lorry was equipped with fire extinguishers, a few fire extinguishers alone would not have made any difference in the face of such a blaze.

Seeing that the fire was beyond their control, someone spoke up and suggested, "Let's call the fire alarm!"

"Are you crazy? Do you think it's appropriate to call the police about this?" Someone retorted in a stern voice.

It was only a while ago that SA Group was investigated, and this time something happened again, in case the police were alerted, how would they be able to explain to their superiors. "But if we don't call the police, all the herbs inside will burn up!"

They all knew in their hearts that whichever they chose, they would not be spared from above.

But all they can do now is to minimise the damage.

So, they eventually chose to call the police.

As soon as the fire alarm was received, the fire alarm was quickly dispatched and the fire engine arrived at the warehouse and the firefighters were immediately engaged in extinguishing the fire. As the fire dwindled, they defied the firemen and the SA Group men rushed into the blackened warehouse.

They had a lucky chance that the herbs would be intact in the fire.

But the reality is harsh.

They rushed into the warehouse and saw that most of the herbs had been burnt to ashes and almost all the rest were burnt beyond use, with only a little bit really intact.

"It's really over!" Someone instantly fell to the ground with weak legs and a pale face.

Pierce received the news and came over immediately, and when he arrived, the police came too.

The fire burned so badly that even some of the surrounding buildings were affected, and the police were called by the public to come and investigate the situation. "Mr Pierce."

At the sight of Pierce, the police men immediately greeted him.

Pierce was anxious to see what was going on in the warehouse, but as the other party was from the police, he dared not be the slightest bit negligent and could only nod politely, "Thank you for your hard work." "It's not hard work, we just wanted to ask if this warehouse is owned by the SA Group?" The other man stared straight at him, as if he was trying to see something on his face.

"Yes, it's from our group." Pierce nodded.

The other man looked down and scribbled in the folder he held in his hand, then looked up at him again, "And do you know why it caught fire?"

"I don't know, I just found out about it and rushed over."

Pierce had just finished his reply when he saw one of his subordinates rush to his side and whisper something in his ear.

"Sorry, I'll go and see what's going on first."

Unable to say anything more to the police officer, Pierce turned on his heels and hurried towards the warehouse.

The policeman watched him walk away, then turned to the witnesses and asked them about the situation before the fire. "How did this happen..."

At the sight of the pile of herbs, which had become ashes, Pierce's eyes went black and he swayed slightly.

The medicine was lost and now the herbs have been burned.

Even if he had ten lives, he wouldn't have enough to take the blame!

"Mr Pierce, what should we do now?" The subordinate beside him asked in a cautious voice.

When Pierce heard this, he instantly ignited his anger and slapped him across the face, cursing, "Rubbish! What's the point of keeping you around if you can't even get the job done!" Everyone was scolded and kept their heads down, not daring to make a sound.

At this point in time, there is nothing that can be said to undo this heavy loss.

Pierce took a deep breath and continued, "Listen to me all, there's no escape for each and every one of you tonight!"

With those words, he turned on his heel and walked out.

Once out of the warehouse, he was going to leave straight away, but the police men stopped him.

"Mr Pierce, we need your cooperation."

"What do you mean?" Pierce was still angry, not as polite as he had been at first, and not giving the police man a good look at all.

The other party was unimpressed and made his point straight away, "We've just asked around and said that a brawl ignited a fuel tank off to the side and that's what caused this fire."

"In that case, what do you want me to cooperate with if you're not going after those people?" Pierce's tone was even worse.

"Your group's warehouse burned down, this always has something to do with you, doesn't it?"

Pierce was still anxious to report back to John, but the police side could not afford to be uncooperative, so he had no choice but to contact John by phone first.

John had fallen asleep in the middle of the night when his mobile phone suddenly rang loudly, waking him up.

He sat up from the bed with an annoyed look on his face and took the phone to see it was Pierce, his face sank and as soon as he picked up the phone he scolded, "Pierce, calling at this hour, you better have something important to do!" "Mr John, there's a fire in the warehouse and very little of the herbs have been burned."

The words were concise, and after hearing them, John's sleepiness instantly receded as he rolled out of bed, pulled on his clothes and hurried outside.

Without the herbs, the drug could not be developed and not only he but also the whole SA Group would be blamed.
