Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 949: Just take it as a blip
Back in his seat, Sweety talked about what had just happened.
"Mummy, brother accidentally bumped into an auntie."
At that, Eloise rushed to ask Solomon, "Did you apologise to the person?"
Solomon nodded, "Yes, I apologized to that aunt."
Eloise stroked his head in relief, "We Solomons are awesome."
"Mummy, that auntie is so pretty." Sweety suddenly said so, "I want to be as pretty as her when I grow up."
Hearing her daughter complimenting someone else, Eloise and Hector looked at each other before pretending to be tasty and asking, "Sweety, who's prettier, Mummy or that auntie?" "Well ..."
Sweety tilted her head and stared at her intently for a long time before she said in a milky voice, "Of course mummy is prettier."
Eloise laughed and was about to compliment her when she added, "That aunty is pretty too, Sweety likes it."
To have Sweety rate her so highly, Eloise couldn't help but wonder what the woman looked like.
"Sweety, you have to remember that Mummy is the most beautiful in the world." Hector taught Sweety seriously and solemnly.
Sweety nodded her little head, "I know, Daddy is the most handsome in the world. Me and my brother are the cutest little kids in the world."
The children's words made both adults laugh.
"Such a witty little one." Eloise smiled and gently pinched her cheek.
A complimented Sweety arched her eyebrows.
But the matter was soon put behind them as a mere blip on the radar.
...
It was dark before Hector took his wife and children home.
The two children had been eating all day and were tired from playing, so they took a bath and went to bed without dinner.
"If only we were this good every day."
Hector's mother smiled as she tucked the baby in.
Eloise laughed too, "Both had so much energy and played all day without shouting that I was getting tired."
At that, Hector's mother hurriedly said, "Then hurry up and eat your dinner and get an early night's rest."
Seeing Hector's mother's nervous look, Eloise said soothingly, "Mum, I'm not as weak as you think, don't worry."
"It's not that weak, and I fainted yesterday." Hector's mother looked at her worriedly.
"That was an accident." Eloise stepped forward and took her arm affectionately, "Mum, Hector and I may have to make a trip to Kyoto, Solomon and Sweety will be in trouble with you."
"We are family, nothing is too much trouble." Hector's mother patted her hand, "Say hello to your grandfather's family for me, and tell your mother to get well, we're all waiting for her to come back." Eloise couldn't help but have a sore nose and she hurriedly drew in a breath to force back her tears and smiled, "Don't worry, I'll talk to my mother."
Hector's mother laughed and the conversation turned, "Come on, let's go downstairs and eat."
After dinner, Eloise went upstairs to rest while Hector went to the study with Hector's father.
"Hector, what's going on in Italy?" Hector's father asked, opening the door.
"Nothing, just a joint project with the Khan family."
Hector didn't want Hector's father to know too much, it wouldn't be good for the Rogers family.
"A collaboration on what project?" Hector's father asked curiously.
"Pharmaceuticals."
Hector's father nodded and didn't ask any more questions, "I did hear Rupert mention it and thought I'd ask what was going on." "Dad, if there's nothing else, I'm going out."
"Go on."
Hector came back into the room and saw Eloise leaning over the bed reading a book and frowned, "Why aren't you asleep?" "Waiting for you." Eloise closed the book and put it aside.
Hector approached and said softly, "Rest early if you're tired, you don't have to wait for me."
"I'm not tired." Eloise thought for a moment and asked, "What did Dad say to you?"
"Something on the company."
Eloise nodded, "I thought he was calling you over for a lecture."
"How so?"
"You haven't been minding the company much these days because of what's going on with me and the Khan family."
Speaking of which, Eloise felt a little overwhelmed.
Although Hector is now the chairman of the board and leaves all but a few important decisions to Rupert, she still feels that she is holding him back. "With Rupert around, you don't have to worry." Hector said, "My most important job right now is to spend more time with you."
Eloise frowned slightly, "Why do I feel like you're hiding something from me? Is it something else with the virus in my body?"
Taking the family out today and now saying that the most important thing is to spend more time with yourself.
Something always felt wrong.
"No. Don't think too much about it, rest early, you have to go to Kyoto tomorrow."
Hector stroked her head gently before turning into the bathroom.
Eloise lay back down, wondering if she was really overthinking things and always feeling a little uneasy.
She sighed, as long as the virus was still there, no one could be at ease.
The fact that Hector suddenly became like this should have something to do with the virus in her body.
Eloise fell asleep thinking about it.
Hector came out, saw that she had fallen asleep, pulled the covers gently over her, then leaned in and planted a soft kiss on her brow. "You'll be healthy." He murmured.
...
The following morning Hector and Eloise set off for Kyoto.
Meanwhile, the Khan Group.
"What the hell is going on here?" Edgar slammed the file down hard on the conference table.
He had a hard time negotiating a cooperation project with someone, but the other party had reneged on it at the last minute.
"Mr Edgar, I'm not talking about you, can you sign the contract first and then tell us that the deal is done, otherwise this impromptu change of heart will not be an empty joy for everyone?" Farabee's hands are stretched out, seemingly helpless, but in fact she is secretly happy.
This project, Edgar's first collaboration since he first came on board.
He was worried that if the deal went through, Edgar would be even more difficult to deal with in the future.
Edgar sulked and did not speak.
He just didn't understand how the other party could suddenly backtrack, when it was clear that all sorts of conditions had been negotiated and were just about to be signed.
"Mr Edgar, you're still too young and inexperienced, and no one will blame you." Devona sounded like she was speaking for him, but in fact she was insinuating that he was too young to take on a big job. "This partnership is very important to the Khan Group, how much money will the Khan Group lose if you don't get this deal."
"Yes Edgar, that's not good, your grandfather trusted you with the company, but how do you expect us all to trust you now?"
...
The other board members were very unhappy with Edgar in every sense of the word.
Edgar raised his hand and rubbed his brow, saying in a deep voice, "Don't worry, I'll give you an explanation."
"What are you going to give us, now that the partnership didn't work out, what else can you do to save it?" Farabee was determined not to make things easy for him.
Edgar tugged at the corners of his lips, "Uncle, I am in charge of the company now, and I will take responsibility no matter what the outcome."
Farabee laughed, "Well then, I'd like to see how you take it."
